When I sat down with Rachel Van Gundy to interview her about her life to learn more about her, I quickly learned that she had a lot of things interesting about her. The thing that stuck out the most about Rachel is that she’s very close with her mom. Her and her mom are best friends. Rachel shares almost everything with her mom. Her mom is her rock in life and even in school. Rachel wanted to become a nurse because she loves helping people. Helping people gives her the satisfaction and she strives to feel that. She has always been interested in the medical field which makes it easier for her to enjoy the stress of nursing school. Rachel also shows her caring personality through the answer she gave about what she would with some of the money if she won a million dollars. She told me that she would donate the money to the local Humane Society because she loves animals and wants them to live the best lives. Rachel would also donate to a children’s hospital. She believes that children deserve the best care, so the children can live a long, happy life. On Rachel’s down time she loves to hang out with her friends. She usually goes to out eat, to the movies, or just stay in. Friends keep Rachel sane and she enjoys having fun with them, which in turn helps alleviate some of the stress from nursing school. Because of the wealth and power that surrounded her family name, Rachel became the victim. If not for all the drama caused by owning much of the land and her family flaunting their fortune, the community of people ready to solve their problems or vendettas by crying witchcraft may have overlooked Rachel. Though money and power have been sought time after time, they often have their downsides. Rachel’s family and their search for wealth did not grant them happiness, but it may have been the main factor in Rachel’s death.

...the beginning, she seemed as if she does not want the baby and wanted to get rid of it but within time she grows up a little by little and realizes she really cares about him. Between these two characters, they both share two characteristics; pride and self-confidence. They show it in many ways from defending the families name to the ideal of power within sex. In the end, both of these characters show great strive to get what they want. Serena is a cold hearted women. All she cares about is herself; she comes first. As for Rachel, because of her son, she puts Jacob first and herself second. Rachel knows what it is like to show love or compassion towards other things in her life; Rachel has good priorities. All Serena has is hatred building up inside of her that she cannot control.
The reason for Rachel feeling belittled is because she believes her birthday is becoming meaningless. “And when you wake up on your eleventh birthday you expect to feel eleven, but you don’t.” That implies she has started to lose faith. She believes getting older is a process that can’t happen in one day. “Because the way you grow old is kind
Through Rachel Getting Married, Demme was able to truthfully display the pain and misery that family members are able to inflict upon each other, even during an event that is presumed to be celebrating family. The film miraculously captured that intangible quality many of us can recognize with: the happiness of being around loved ones we see too rarely and the high of having everyone together in the same place. The center of the celebration was two sisters, Kym and Rachel. Both of complete opposites: one with a Ph.D. in psychology and one self-destructive addict. Our first introduction to Kym didn’t present us with an exactly positive image: she’s a caustic young woman with a history of drug-addiction, run-ins with the law, selfishness and
...sn’t happy living this famous life and that’d she be happier out of spotlight and living in as she would say the “real world” where she was free to be who she really is. By being a regular teenager, she knew that she would be able to make friends and feel comfortable with whom she was. She would find real friends who would actually care for her and people who she could really trust. Staying true to who you are should means living your life trying to please yourself and by becoming Rachel Rogers she was able to live effortlessly because there was no effort put trying to be someone she was not. She was able to finally be proud of who she was remember what a natural smile felt like. If she wasn’t able to stay true to herself she would of continued on living a miserable life and regretting the fact that there was a better one waiting for her outside the Hollywood world.

I prefer to work closely with patients and build that connection with them.” This answer didn’t really shock me all that much, I think its really common for people to go for pre med and then find/figure out that they wont be able to really establish and connect well with the patients. My next question was simple and asked, “Was it your dream to always become a nurse, and did anyone have an influence on your decision?” Emily explained that she has always wanted to work in the medical field, but didn’t really know which area or career path until college. She also went on to say that both her mother and sister are nurses, but her mother had the most impact because Emily was able to be in the hospital a lot during high school and started volunteering when she was young. Knowing Emily’s background it doesn’t surprise me that she went for nursing, there is clearly a family history of it. Also, with Emily volunteering at a young age she was really exposed to the hospital setting which would help her choose a career. I just got a volunteer position at St. Paul Children’s Hospital which I am very excited for because I will be able to experience the hospital setting and really see why Emily is so excited about nursing. My last question was, “What made you want to work with
I have always wanted to become a nurse since I was a little girl, seeing both of my grandmothers working in a hospitals and always helping everyone in need. My goals in becoming a nurse is just the basic foundation of just helping people who physically cannot help themselves. I want to be able to shed light in people's lives who are losing it because of their situation. I feel as nurses is the backbone in the hospital. The nurses are there day in and day out with the patients, holding their hands and walking them and their families throughout such a difficult time. Nurses are also their supporting the doctors and all other staff. I’ve found especially in these past few years that I want to spend my life helping others and that's what I can
My reasons for selecting a career in nursing stem directly from my desire to help our prospering population and community. This career appeals to me because it embodies what I strive to become, a person of influence, a guide, a respected adult, a mentor, and a person that can be trusted and looked up to with great passion. Another reason for selecting a career in nursing has a lot to do with my current job position at Generations Elder Care. Working with the elderly community at this personal care home has enriched my life in many ways, including one for my passion of learning more about the nursing field. As I shadowed the nurses entering the facility I watched them do their assessments on the residents which has peaked my curiosity. I believe being a nurse presents daily challenges which are unique, interesting, and rewarding and that is another reason why I want to become a nurse. Knowing that I have helped someone in some way possible gives me a feeling of fulfillment and enjoyment that I never understood or had before. And this career offers just that, and that is exactly why I...
My Mother - The Greatest Inspiration in My Life When asked who their hero is, most people respond with the name of an athlete or an actress/actor. My mother has been the greatest inspiration in my life and is the main reason that I am where I am and who I am today. Born and raised in Richmond, Kentucky, I would like to introduce you to my mother, Vicki Grant. Currently the age of 47, Mom is the oldest of three girls.
Nursing, for me, is more than a profession, it is a journey where I learn continuously about life changing events and miracles. Touching the lives of others or being touched by other’s story is an experience one can’t describe, only endure. Nursing is a profession of integrity and compassion, and it is the most trusted professions due to our commitment towards our patient. The quality of a good nurse is they should be caring, sensitive, kind and respectful towards their patient, and I believe I possess all these qualities that have contributed to me in my successful career of nursing. Working at Cleveland Clinic, I got a great opportunity to work with a group of doctors and coworkers who have the same mission in life and job as mine; “Put the patient first”. Making a positive impact on patient’s life, big or small, noticed or unnoticed, gives me a great sense of accomplishment and makes me proud to be a nurse.
