"The only crime I have committed is being queen."- said Queen Liliuokalani as she was walked up the stairs to the entrance of her prison cell. Liliuokalani became queen after the death of her brother, King Kalakaua. During her reign as queen she attempted to restore many of the things her older brother had not been so successful in. Liliuokalani was queen for four years before her successful reign ended. Liliuokalani was treated wrongly after being accused of doing something when only one piece of evidence was found. A journal of the queen was found that said "I signed eleven commissions today".
January 16, 1895 Deputy Brown enters the queen's residence with a warrant for her arrest. The queen was arrested because she was accused of treason. Liliuokalani was taken to the second floor of Iolani Palace, where she would then reside for the following year. The queen was allowed to take one lady in waiting, and immediately after her arrest 40 others working for her were arrested and taken to the state jail. The 40 workers of Queen Liliuokalani were put in a jail cell for hours at a time without food, water, or clothes before being questioned about what they knew involving the queens accusation. Liliuokalani's room consisted of a single bed, one couch,

Deputy Brown came asking Liliuokalani to abdicate the throne. When Liliuokalani refused to abdicate she was threatened. Deputy Brown told her that six prisoners would be killed if she didn't abdicate quietly. Liliuokalani was also told that all of the people arrested because of her would be released. Liliuokalani agreed to sign the form quietly, and was told to sign the formal document as Liliuokalani Dominis. Liliuokalani being royalty had never signed as Liliuokalani Dominis, she had always signed using her first name only. Shortly after signing the abdication documents Liliuokalani was placed on parole with 24 hour
time in detention camps. How far the principle of this case would be extended before plausible reasons would play out, I do not know." (pg. 1389).

So then there was made great ordnance in this ire, and the queen must needs be judged to death. And the law was such in those days that whosoever they were, of what estate or degree, if they were found guilty of treason* there should be none other remedy but death, and either the mainour or the taking with the deed should be causer of their hasty judgement. And right so was it ordained for Queen Guinevere...theses proofs and experience caused King Arthur to command the Queen to the fire, and there to be burned. (478)

...s rib had been broken. When Qui Ju found out that the chief had been taken away to prison, she wanted to avert it, but it was too late. The justice, which was enforced by government agitated her even more strongly. The only things it could do in order to enforce justice were the monetary compensation and imprisonment of the perpetrator.
The last bolt is screwed on as a relieved automotive worker marvels at his wondrous creation: a car. With the roar of an engine, the car slowly disappears into the distance. The worker gradually turns around, picks up his tools, and continues to work on a new car. As a consumer, we rarely wonder how things are made; we simply take everything we own for granted. For once, have you wondered how many hours of hard labor many automotive workers must go through? The automotive industry has been around for many years, but it has not always been as efficient as it currently is. As the industry continues to evolve, many new innovative ideas are still being developed. In the past, automotive workers have had to work in harsh conditions without much security or job benefits. Nevertheless, through the continuous development of organized collective bargaining, workers are being treated as they should be. Being the largest automobile manufacturer in the world, General Motors Corporation has been greatly affected by the needs of their workers. Rick Wagoner, CEO of General Motors, is currently in charge of “running the show” at GM. Being the most successful automotive company since 1931, it is obvious that he not only has to satisfy customers, but also the workers within the company. From the smallest things such as a work raise to bigger things such as the working condition, the management of General Motors has been pressured to make both positive and negative changes to the way the company is run as a whole in order to satisfy the workers who are part of the UAW Union. Therefore, the formation and development of unions encompasses both pros and cons.

Our monument includes a ten foot tall statue of Susan B. Anthony with a one inch tall base, facts that are a part of a 6 foot cylinder, and famous quotes on the three foot base. There is water that comes out of the waterfall that goes down the statue while you are looking at the facts and quotes. There is also a four foot stand that has a description of Anthony so people can be able to learn about. At the bottom of the fountain there is going to be a small pool with stepping stones that you can walk across and read which can make the viewer's feel a part of the monument. The water from the fountain is phosphorescent water, so we do not need as many lights. Under the statue (underground), there is a small museum with a gift shop, and a bathroom.

Queen Elizabeth I was first familiar with Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London when she was imprisoned in the tower for conspiracy to overthrow Queen Mary I. In the month that Elizabeth was imprisoned, she encountered some of the infamous inmates that were held there. The day her coronation was held her parade around the city of London began at the tower and ended at Westminster abbey. The Tower of London has a great deal of dark history including imprisonment, torture, and executions.
