The development stages of an individual's lifespan are one of the most essential phases they can go through. During these stages the individual goes through not only physical maturity, but also cerebral, behavioral, and poignant growth. A character I have chosen is Sasuke Uchiha, one of the protagonists from the famous anime Naruto. In the anime Sasuke’s own brother kills off their whole entire clan by order, and leaves only Sasuke to live. Sasuke grows up hating his brother, and develops hatred throughout his childhood towards everything. Throughout the whole anime it is shown clearly how Sasuke developed, and how his choices affected his life.
In the anime when Itachi, Sasuke’s older brother kills of their entire clan, and leaves the village, this action shapes Sasuke’s entire lifespan choices. Shaping is the development of supporting a distinct conduct that a person is trying to invest within somebody, or something. Before Itachi leaves after kill everyone he says to Sasuke “There is no value in killing the likes of you… My foolish brother… If you want to kill me… curse me! Hate me! And live a long and unsightly life… Run away… run away… and cling to your pitiful life. And then some day, when you have the same eyes as I do, come before me." By saying this Itachi is telling Sasuke to become fiercer, advance, and grow abhorrence so that one day when he is strong enough they can fight. Itachi tries to construct Sasuke to complete this precise reaction of hatred by reinforcing his responses to the desired comeback. The end reward for Sasuke would be to get revenge for his clan, kill Itachi, and so only way to do this is to become stronger, and go after Itachi. ...If that stage Sasuke experienced those challenges and didn’t stand up for him, he would’ve felt shamed and ashamed that could’ve really challenged his future choices such as his strive for power, and intelligence.
Throughout childhood to his current teenage years Sasuke survived beneath an absurd quantity of anxiety. Itachi’s death warning would always remind him of is past. Sasuke decided to not take it submissively and made it his ultimate goal to kill Itachi get justice. Sasuke sees this as his earnest responsibility towards his parents, and clan. As an individual Sasuke suffers from large quantities of emotional scars from the incident caused by Itachi betrayal. This leaves him with a character that is very suspicious of everyone. Due to this he sidestepped from starting connections with anyone because nearly everybody treated him like a contestant or a reward.

When it came time to pick a stage of development, I chose the stage of middle childhood. The movie that best depicted this stage of development to me was the 1991 movie “My Girl”. In this movie, you see a 11-year-old girl named Vada Sultenfuss going through a lot of psychosocial and cognitive changes in her life. She has grown up without her mother due to instant death when being born and she blames herself for her mother’s passing. Her dad is very absent in the upbringing of Vada, as he focuses most of his time and energy into his work as a mortician. Dr. Rapoport is a psychiatrist who specializes in obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). In this, book she reveals new drug treatments, new methods in diagnosis and behaviorist therapies. This is done through the study of her patients and their disorders. Rapoport has revealed this secret disease and hopes to bring and understanding about it to all that may suffer from it and to anyone who may want to be informed. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about OCD. It may help those who face this disease everyday of their lives, and make them realize they are not alone. Also will aid in those who do not know much about this disease and give them and understanding and be aware that it surrounds us.

Each person’s life consists of normal stages of development; this is known as life span development. This development starts at infancy and continues through death. In each stage of development, each person experiences four types of development; physical, cognitive, social, and personality.
No matter who you are I believe that everyone will go through stages in their life that will get them to where they are on today. I am a person who has a very interesting story; this is the first time it will be told in full. We were asked to use Erik Erikson’s theory of development as a guideline to telling the story of our lives. At first I was very nervous; however, I soon realized that this would be a fun task. Erik Erikson has eight stages of Development (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman). I will be walking you though my life using each one of his stages drawing out the map of my life. Within my life I have had some very interesting encounters. I have been through foster care, abuse, rape, molestation, starvation, adoption, depression, and success. Although my life may not be perfect, I believe that I have overcome these battles and become the person that I am on today. I will be talking about a few crises, milestones, and some of the people that were set in place to help me and or hurt me.
