Recommended: Key aspects of psychological perspectives
There are many different modern perspectives of psychology. These modern perspectives are cognitive,psycoanalysis,humanistic.socio-cultural,behavioral and evolutionary. When thinking about a key event in regard to different personality theories, I felt that I could most relate that key event of my life to the humanistic and behavioral theory. I will mainly be emphazing on these two modern perspectives. Moreover, I will then evaluate the key concepts and the principles of these two theories, and briefly compare and contrast their thoughts in the following paragraphs.
Behaviorism, is a theory based upon the idea that all behaviors are attained through certain condition. Behaviorists believe that it is more profitable to study behavior than to study beliefs and disbeliefs. I know, from personal experience people will increase behaviors that are followed by positive consequences while people will decrease behaviour that might lead them to negative consequences. Humanistic psycology emerged as a combination of both behaviourism and psycoanalysis. I believe that it is a hypothetical view of human nature that yields to positive view of human nature. It is an optimistic view of human nature. I believe that it has a strong concern for human welfare, values, and dignity. As we will see both perspectives
will approach these thoughts and will focus on the key event of my life which changed my thoughts and beliefs.

I have gain a valuable experience from this incident that I have with my friends. I successfully ended my love for Estela, and that her image will not control my heart anymore. I can now move on with my life after three years. I also see the true side of Celio that I never seem before. Even though I become friends with him three months after the incident, I can never really forgive him for hurting me like that. In another way, I think that I have to thank Celio for opening the door of opportunity for me. I have also see who was my real friends during my moment of depression. Gil Pionkowski showed that she care about me while Kha Troung show me what real friendship is about. This was one of the most memorable moment during my high school because it open a new world for me.
This essay will explore one of the possible combinations of theories on personality and explain how it can be applied in practical therapy.
A Comparison of Psychodynamic and Social Learning in Regards to the Development of Personality "No Works Cited" “Psychologists define personality in many ways, but common to all of the ways are two basic concepts, uniqueness and characteristic patterns of behaviour. We will define personality as the complex set of unique psychological qualities that influence an individuals characteristic patterns of behaviour across different situations and over time.” (Psychology In Life, Phillip .G. Zimbardo, page 509)

Does personality determine behavior? Phelps (2015) dived into this discussion in his article by reviewing the perspectives of personality, how psychology relates to behavior and the idea of self, and further, how behaviorists define personality and all of its components. Phelps (2015) compares and contrasts the common beliefs of personality and the view of self as attributed to personality theorists with those characterized by behavioral theorists. A typical understanding of personality is one that defines it as an internal substance that drives behavior, and therefore, by seeking to understand a person's personality we can almost assume their actions (Phelps, 2015). Behavioral theorists, on the other hand, do not lean on vague internal conditions to explain behavior, but rather they evaluate a person's past and present settings to define behavior, according to Phelps (2015). The conclusion is that behaviorists' perspectives on these topics are far more parsimonious in nature and most popular views of personality speak to a more internal and far-reaching position rather than the behavior itself (Phelps, 2015). Likewise, Phelps (2015) addresses the issue of meeting specific criteria for discerning whether a theoretical viewpoint is valid in helping us understand people. He continued to remark that behaviorists' stances meet a large portion of the criteria as presented by Gordon Allport (Phelps, 2015). For example, they have less assumptions, they are consistent, and not to mention, they are testable and falsifiable, Phelps (2015) supports. In my opinion and critical review, this article is useful because it provides an unbiased assessment of a variety of personality theories and definitions of personality and the self. Likewise, it is simple and easy to understand, thus qualifying it as parsimonious. Overall, I think the article did its ultimate job of evaluating different perspectives and
Personality is patterns of thinking, behavior and emotional responses that make up individuality over time. Psychologist attempt to understand how personality develops and its impact on how we behave. Several theories attempt to explain personality, using different approaches. The social-cognitive and humanistic approaches are two of many theories that attempt to explain personality. This essay will identify the main concepts of social-cognitive and humanistic approach, identify perspective differences and discuss approach limitations.
A Comparison of the Main Approaches to Personality Psychology Psychology of personality is a difficult concept to define and quantify, therefore most personality theories, however different they may be in other respects, share the basic assumption, that personality is a particular pattern of behaviour and thinking, that prevails across time and situations and differentiates one person from another. Most theories attempting to explain personality represent part of the classic psychological Nature verse Nurture debate. In other words, is personality “inherited”, or developed through our interactions with the environment. In addition, we shall compare and contrast two of the main approaches to personality psychology by concentrating on Psychoanalytical Theory (Freud) and Social Learning Theory (Bandura). By looking at the Psychodynamic approach, developed by Freud, we can argue that it emphasizes the interplay of unconscious psychological processes in determining human thought, feelings, and behaviours.

Hilary Schor’s article, “If He Should Turn to and Beat Her” has pioneered a new wave of thinking regarding Estella’s characterization. At first glance, Estella is seen as a cold and distant character, much like an evening star offers beauty to be admired without any true warmth. However, Schor’s interpretation of the novel
In my eyes, Estelle is a na?ve narrator and her naivete is disproved. From her first fantasy, she went so far as to ask the rapeman to help her to find her plastic lemon in her purse. More surprising is that the rapeman so far as to help Estelle. At last, Estelle squirt him in the eye by the lemon. That is ridiculous and it will never appear this situation in the real life. In all historical aspects, psychology can show us the diverse ranges of how it is evolving throughout our world today. Ancient Greeks and philosophers in the 4th century, show us the early development of personality psychology. They wanted to figure out what actually makes us who we are. Aristotle was one of the first individuals to hypothesize connections between physical aspects of the body and behavior. Today there are many different theoretical vi...
When we are born, over time we grow up and develop a personality. For each person, our personalities differentiate between one another which presents a wide variety of individuals. According to psychology, there are different factors that make up who we are. Today, I will be talking about the four major theories of personality (Psychodynamic, five-factor model, humanistic, and social-cognitive).
In the study of psychology there are four major theories of personality. They are Social Cognitive, Psychoanalytic, Humanistic, and Behavioral. Of course, they are all different and portray different types of behavioral patterns. Personality studies have been founded on the perception that all people are alike in some ways, but can be different in other ways. I have placed the four personality theories where I think they belong on the nature versus nurture continuum.
Personality Theories originate from the awareness that astute, intellectual theorists perceive when observing, examining and evaluating their own mental state of mind. Although theories are tested through research; human characteristics have exhibited that they can be demonstrated to contain errors. The most recent knowledge of understanding personality theories derives from a combination of components such as research on reoccurrences, culture, psychobiology, learning, traits, and social psychology. Alfred Adler titled his theory Individual Psychology with the belief that everyone is differently motivated. Fascinated with finding out what driving force motivates a person to reach their potential, and what keep them going during difficult times, Adler referred to his theory as “striving for superiority” (Friedman, H. and Schustack, (2012). Adler viewed motivation as future endeavors rather than the outcome of the past. He differed the basic concept of his personality typology from Classical Greek typology by referring to them as (1) Ruling-Dominant, (2) Getting- Leaning, (3) Avoiding and (4) Socially useful (Friedman, H. & Schustack, M., 2012).
