One of my requirements for obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Psychology is to complete a Psychology internship to gain field experience. To fill up my 200-hour field experience in Psychology requirement I applied with the Dean of Academic & Student Affairs at St. Augustine College located at 1345 W. Argyle St. Chicago, IL 60640. The Dean of Academic & Student Affairs is Dr. Bondavalli. As the Dean of students, Dr. Bondavalli supervises various campus programs and serving as a liaison between college administrators and student. He also enrolls transfer and international students from around the world. In addition to dealing with student affairs issues such as class absences, refund appeals, withdrawals, and ADA students. The student was an older student who currently working two jobs and is trying to finish her last class, which is her Early Childhood Practicum. In this class, the student has to comply a total of 200 hours in field experience. When I first met the student she did not seem welcoming. I explain that Dr. Bondavalli send me to help her and if she needed any support to let me know. It took three more times of me popping up to her class Monday evening to see if she needed help. The third time I took her to the side and I told her not to feel ashamed and she should let me help her. With a troubled heart she accepted but in the condition of meeting somewhere else. I said o.k. and told we can go to a McDonald’s and meet there. We set out to meet the coming week at the west campus of St. Augustine College. When we got to McDonald’s to make her more comfortable I offer to buy her food but she settled for a coffee. We sat down and I start to ask her how was the class going? “She told me she felt overwhelm”. I ask why? “She replies by telling me that it was too much work and with the hours that were due she did not know where to start”. I ask to see her syllabus and told her to take a breath to relax. I told her not to worry I have done this class before and I knew what was expected, she cracked a smile. I ask her if she had started to do
