Psoriasis is a noncontagious skin infection that develops a rapid skin production which results in dry patches, red and thickened of the skin. It commonly affects the skin of knees, scalp, elbows, palms of hands, genitals and soles of feet. It is a chronic and autoimmune disease that occurs, when the immune system sends false signal that speed up the growth cycle of the skin cells.
Psoriasis causes scaly patches called psoriatic plaques, this area have an excessive skin production and inflammation. This may trigger inflammation of the joints, commonly known as psoriatic arthritis. The silvery white appearance is due to the rapidly accumulation of skin on these sites. The disorder may vary in severity from a small localized patch to complete coverage on the body.
PSORIASIS CAUSE
The exact cause of psoriasis is yet to be found, however there are two main hypothesis that helps in the development of the disease and these are
• Excessive growth and reproduction of skin cells
• Immune mediated disorder
Psoriasis can be hereditary and found in members of the same family. Despite research in the past 3 decade the exact cause for the disease remains a mystery.

• Thickened, raised, red or pink areas and dry skin which affects areas over scalp, knees and elbows
• There is a possibility that causes a tiny blood to ooze out by pulling one of the small dry flakes.
• It may occur in moist areas like the navel or area between buttocks that may appear as red patches.
