Humans can be motivated in unimaginable ways, even as simply juggling a ball. Athletes face many obstacles when playing soccer such as controlling the ball. Coach Ammendolia at Acton- Boxborough Regional High School wants to improve his team’s performance to win more games. The coach implements for all soccer players to juggle a soccer ball with one’s feet in their free time. Players who participate in juggling will be motivated by autonomy, mastery, and purpose to improve their performance in soccer. Juggling a soccer ball enables a player’s sense of autonomy. All it takes for an athlete to juggle is to have a soccer ball. Athletes can practice whenever or wherever they want to, allowing them to have a sense of independence. They will have
the freedom to juggle as it gives them control of their own actions. Furthermore, autonomy allows the members to be more concentrated in juggle. Athletes who are alone are more likely to perform better than being with the soccer team. They won’t be focused on how their peers perform but themselves. Soccer players who are given the task to juggle in their free time can be motivated by the notion of autonomy. Students will be motivated by mastery of juggling. At first, players won’t have a significant improvement on a number of repetitions, but over time they will. As soon as players notice that they are getting better, the improvements will encourage them to be better at the activity. Eventually, the soccer players will be confident on what they are doing and it will prepare them when playing a soccer match. The athletes who juggle are able to have the impression of mastery as they increase the number of repetitions. The act of juggling is purposeful as they will develop a relationship with the ball. In the soccer, the first touch or receiving the ball is very important in order to control the ball decisively. The soccer balls are most often passed in the air and it takes technique to receive the ball in the air. This is why juggling is essential for soccer players to succeed in the field. Additionally, a good juggling develops one’s foot and eye coordination from rhythm and timing of each bounce of the ball. It enables players to concentrate on the ball and one’s technique. Practicing with a soccer ball directly impact an athlete's ability in a soccer game. Juggling gives purpose to players as it will be a reflection on their performance. As a soccer coach, implementing juggling on athlete’s free time will be very motivating and beneficial to the team. Players gain autonomy to practice on one’s free time and the easy accessibility with a soccer ball. They receive the notion of mastery as they improve the number of repetitions. Athletes gain purpose as it will improve their coordination with the ball such as the first touch. Moreover, juggling will overall improve the performance of a soccer player as develops a relationship with the ball. The motivation by juggling through autonomy, mastery, and purpose allows players to be inspired to improve their performance in soccer.
Some schools think dodgeball is too violent. Recently principals in Elkton, Maryland banned dodgeball because they think it’s inappropriate and uses slower and non-athletic kids as targets. They did this by removing it from the P.E. curriculum. I think it’s appropriate because it prepares you for real situations that will come later in life, the schools going too far with it, and some kids look forward to it.
In the mid-1900s, the Unites States was rapidly changing from the introduction of a new standard of technology. The television had become the dominant form of entertainment. This seemingly simple thing quickly impacted the average American’s lifestyle and culture by creating new standards for the average household. New, intimidating concepts came about, and they began embedding themselves into American culture. It became clear to some people that some of these ideas could give rise to new social problems, which it did. Sixty- five years ago, in a library basement, a man named Ray Bradbury wrote a book called Fahrenheit 451, which was able to accurately predict social problems that would occur because he saw that Americans are addicted to gaining quick rewards and new technology, and also obsessed with wanting to feel content with their lives.

Imagining myself as a high school soccer coach, I would like to optimize my team’s kicking performance. Some players consistently kick the ball successfully with the correct use of power and accuracy. To ensure that all players are able to achieve the same optimal kicking habits, this paper will document (1) the effective and ineffective habits of kicking, (2) describe biomechanical based kicking assessments, (3) describe how these assessments will measure the effective aspects of kicking and expected findings, and (4) provide suggestions on how I may modify programming based on the insights gained from these assessments.
To head, or not to head, that is the question In today’s world, the benefits of sports are huge. Sports are a way of teaching key skills that parents can’t such as sportsmanship, social values and many more. One of the most popular sports all over the world is soccer; hence soccer is the first sport that many children play and later on love. Within the past couple years, controversies have arisen over whether or not children should be heading the soccer ball while playing.
During practice optimal motivation and excitement need to be given to players to not only insure they progress in their skill aptitude, but also to make the environment fun, creative, and innovative for all athletes involved. Martens specifically describes the “flow experience” as an “optimal” time where players aren’t too anxious or under motivated to perform (Martens, 108). Coaches can heed this advice by planning light, medium, and intense exercise drills, changing the modes of exercise, changing the environment, or through utilizing the teaching principle called the “games approach” (Martens, 154). If the “games approach” is used then the monotony of training will decrease because fun tactical activities based around in game situations will be used instead of repetitive technique drills that often bore players and inspire them to quit a sport early in season. Shaping of play with different teammates or rules, focusing of play through freeze play drills, and enhancing play through different techniques are all effective ways to utilize the games approach to improve tactical sport awareness (Martens, 156). For instance, instead of practicing soccer free kicks repeatedly, the players could do 3 on 3 games utilizing half of the field, they could limit the game to midfield and freeze at times to see whoever gets the most
Why do we do what we do? This is one question that summarizes the motive for psychology. The answer to this question is the reason why I declared psychology as my major. Current psychologists and those dating back to the year 1879, strove to achieve the answer to this reoccurring question. “The Father of Psychology”, Wilhelm Wundt, and those psychologists of-age, have been strenuously consulting and researching to truly understand the mind and its effect on human behavior. Over the last 127 years, an accumulation of various answers to that specific question have been made. In this paper, the main focus will be the working memory in athletics; how the conscious movements become unconscious and almost instinct-like, and how coaches can teach their athletes better, using explicit and implicit technique.

It is important to understand how physics works and affects us even when playing soccer. If players know how physics, the small details, affect them they will be able to control the ball and be efficient in calculating the speed and impact of an approaching opponent. Soccer is a challenging sport, but knowing how the physics around the game works makes improvement almost a guarantee.
The definition of soccer: “A game played by two teams of eleven players with a round ball that may not be touched with the hands or arms during play except by the goalkeepers. The object of the game is to score goals by kicking or heading the ball into the opponent 's ' goal.” When I think about the thing I’m most passionate about, soccer pops into my head right away. Soccer represents more than just a game to me. The sport gives me an outlet distract me from the real world, it taught me to overcome a battle that shaped my character, and my teammates bring out the best in me.
From the early ages in history to the present day, sports have always been an important part of society. It teaches discipline, how to be a team player, how to interact with others and is a good source of physical activity. In specific, football utilizes all of these aspects of sports and it’s a great source of teaching self-restraint and perseverance. Some may say that football is a violent sport or it’s not beneficial in any way, but in reality it gives a person the basic tools needed not only for playing the game, but also how you interact with people in society.

Because its fans and players are so dedicated, the sport continues to grow. Requiring only a ball and open space, the activity is available to anyone, whether rich or poor, male or female, athletic or not. Over the years, soccer has won the hearts of many because of its unique history, many benefits, and notable achievements.
Children who participate in sports are developing rapidly in sports skills, sportsmanship, and psychologically, but does this come from organized sports are just nature’s process. Children develop emotional and social benefits from participating in sports. Children experience character and leadership development through peer relations leading to an increase in self-esteem and a decrease in anxiety levels. Children will get opportunities to experience positive and negative emotions throughout their practice and games trials. It is important for the coach to understand the “psychology of youth sports and physical activity participation” (Weinberg & Gould, 2011 p.516).
Motivate the motivation, simple words that can mean some much to an athlete, but what is motivation really? In the games and sports, psychological and physiological factors play an important role in determining the performance level (Grange & Kerr, 2010; Schilling & Hyashi, 2001). Motivation also plays an important role in determining the performance level an athlete, but plays a role in the psychological and physiological factors as well. Motivation is more than a behavior or idea, it is an impact on how we interact with others, how we process defeat, feel, and how we play. Millions of children worldwide participate in a multitude of sports, either in school or outside of school. As they grow older, they get better, but some of them stop playing. We have discussed that the best and sometimes oldest of the kids (in their age groups) are given more chances and more opportunities, as well as better coaching. This results in them gaining more experience and practice. Ultimately, some of them end up being national or world-class athletes competing and representing their country. In order for that to happen, they have to be recognized as talented and be presented with a chance to become great.
