The improvements Prophet Muhammad brought to this world changed the course of human history on this planet forever. (islamicity.org) One accomplishment of Muhammad were the new religious beliefs he brought to the public. One night when Muhammad was praying and fasting, a powerful presence came and told him to keep reciting the prayers. After many visits from the powerful being he told the public of the messages. Many people did not like the new religious beliefs Muhammad brought with him, by the end of the decade, leaders tried to assassinate Muhammad. They did not succeed. (pbs.org) While meditating in a cave on Mount Hira, Muhammad had a revelation. He believed that he was called on by God to become a prophet and a teacher of a new faith, Islam. The new faith merged ideas of Judaism and Christianity. When you were a follower of Islam you had to follow the five pillars of faith. One is there is only one universal God that you must believe in and that is Allah. Another is followers of Islam are expected to pray five times each day while facing Mecca. The third one is all Muslims are expected to pay a yearly tax that is mostly intended to help the poor and needy. The fourth one is for the entire month of Ramadan, Muslims must not eat, smoke, drink, or have sexual relations from sunrise to sunset. It was breached a year later, but brought peace to the land. (pbs.org) Both sides adhered to the treaty initially. However, two years later there was a violation of the agreement. One of the tribes allied with the Meccans attacked and killed some members of a tribe allied with the Muslims. This incident destroyed the treaty. By this time, the Muslims had become an intimidating force and so in 630 C.E. the Prophet Muhammad decided to take an army of 10,000 men towards Mecca. Once the Muslims had reached Mecca, the leaders of Quraysh surrendered. As a result the Prophet Muhammad announced that if you were sheltered in the Ka’ba, you were safe, those who were sheltered in the house of Abu Sufyan were also safe, and those who remain restrained to their houses were likewise safe.
