Practically everyone in modern society takes pictures. We use photography in our every day life, from taking “selfies”, capturing family events, or to a job if you’re a professional photographer. Yet most to most people, there is an oversight of how cameras are controlled. Have you ever wondered what all of those numbers mean on a camera’s display? Or perhaps why someone would have a mode where you were left in charge of those strange numbers? I have been studying photography at Leeward Community College and hold a certificate of competence in digital photography. I will be explaining what those numbers mean. Focal length, exposure time, and ISO are the three basic camera settings that determine how a photograph is captured.
The first camera control, focal length is a change in a camera lens’ diameter. Often called “F-Stop” it will appear in your camera as the symbol “ƒ” followed by a number. The lower the number, the wider the aperture is open. The higher the number, the smaller the aperture is open. So what exactly does this do to the camera? It allows more or less light into the camera making the photo brighter or darker by changing the shutter. The aperture behaves the same way your eye works. The iris will expand or contract depending on the situation. Changing the focal length will also change something called depth of field. Depth of field is a zone in distance where things are in focus. A small aperture provides a small depth of field, and higher aperture with a larger depth of field. Next I will explain how shutter speed works.

In the camera the number will appear as a fraction or a number with a quotation mark following “Shutter speeds are measured in seconds and fractions of a second” (Cole 2015). By this control we can take pictures of the stars in a night sky or capture the crack of a baseball meeting a bat. The timing is up to
In this image, a sewage worker is seen cleaning the drainage system, with his bear hands, without the use of either any equipment’s or protection. On the first glace, the image depicts the idea of health risk, because the man is exposed to such contaminants, which for him is work. He is looking up from a dirty drain, covered in filth, which shows that he is clearly used as the subject of this image, whom we are engaged to more as he is making eye contact with its viewers. This picture only includes one person into the frame, as the other man’s face isn’t available to see in this picture, which is man that is holding the bucket. Holding a bucket either emphasise the idea that he is helping the sewage worker, either to get the dirt out or to put the dirt in the drainage system.

Process philosophy is known as the idea that everything is changing. Over the years, process philosophy has changed the way humans exist and go about their day to day lives. In order to fully grasp the concept of process philosophy we will first take a closer look at process philosophy, as a whole, its history, and the ideas behind this particular philosophy. Then we will discuss the effects process philosophy has had on marriage and family, followed by a brief commentary.
Our copy shot images have three different exposure times giving us the above three exposure types. The first image being our underexposed image our set exposure time is 1/60 (1/60 of a second, with an f-number of
This is the distance from the lens to the camera sensor and is measured in millimeters. This distance helps to identify how much the lens can zoom towards an object in the frame without losing any detail. A short length leads to an image that comes in a wide-angle and captures more of the scene in your pictures. A long length creates a magnified image that comes with a field of view that is narrow. The focal lengths available with macro lenses can extend from 8-millimeters to around 400-millimeters.
The iris acts to control the size of the pupil. In bright light, the iris is dilated in such a way as to reduce the size of the pupil and limit the amount of entering light. In dim light, the iris adjusts its size as to maximize the size of the pupil and increase the amount of incoming light.

Dante Gabriel Rossetti, one of the initiators of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, is known for his symbolistic medieval styled art. Out of his many artworks, ‘Ecce Ancilla Domini!’ , also known as “The Annunciation”, accurately displays the delicate and pure qualities of Pre Raphaelite art. The composition of this painting has a vertical, ascending aspect, with even light source throughout the picture. He deliberately uses incorrect depth, shadow, and relativity of objects and human figures, creating a flat image overall.

Photojournalism plays a critical role in the way we capture and understand the reality of a particular moment in time. As a way of documenting history, the ability to create meaning through images contributes to a transparent media through exacting the truth of a moment. By capturing the surreal world and presenting it in a narrative that is relatable to its audience, allows the image to create a fair and accurate representation of reality.
Generally, perception is often described as the process by which the individuals selects, organizes and interprets several stimuli into a meaningful and coherent picture of the universe. There are three stages involved in perceptual process of individual when undergoes selection on products. The first stage will be exposure, which take place when our senses discover some external cue from several things an individual encounter with. (M, 2009) The next stage of perceptual process is attention. It is one of the most important stages that businesses usually concern about as it will affect whether the knowledge of the particular businesses will be delivered to consumer. The final process would be interpretation. In this stage, individuals will tend to analyze the products based on own interests, experiences, motives and reasoning.
