Throughout the United States there are 116,240 K–12 schools. 23% of them are private schools. The other 77% are public schools. Some say private schools are better than public schools, while others say public schools are better. I can only speak the benefits many will receive from attending my school. Private schools were actually the only schools around before public schools started. The first private schools were established by the religious missionaries of the Roman Catholic Church in Florida and Louisiana. Organized systems of public education did not take shape until the 1840s. St Croix Lutheran is more efficient, safer, more reliable, and holds a much higher level of education, than the public school. St Croix teaches a faster and more educational curriculum than many other schools which allows students to excel more easily.

Croix is much higher than at a public school. At St. Croix they do not just let students get away with not doing their homework. There is a strict punishment if someone does not do it. The complete attitude of every student that goes to a St. Croix Lutheran is different from others at other schools. Children that go to St Croix want to achieve more, become the best they can be, and excel in their schooling at a faster pace. Many might think that their children can get the same kind of higher class education from other private schools or even the public school. They are right, but St. Croix offers the true aspect of Jesus. We preach Christ crucified and He is the only way to get to heaven. At St Croix it is required to take a final exam, and if someone does not pass it they must retake their senior year. At some public schools one is not even required to pass all of their final exams. They can apply for a voucher that says they past, and once they get one they are given there diploma. At St Croix Lutheran every single hour students put in for studying is earned through that
When you look at the private schools they meet those goals. It all comes down to the haves and have not’s the people with the most money wins. In this case it is the private schools. The biggest gap between public and private schools is the budgets 14.6% of the public schools ...
Most people go to public schools. They never read about other schools or what they offer. Why do we chose public schools anyway? Most Parents know they just want to have a child that can live how they did and learn where they have. Parents have been around and they wanted their child to be what was expect of them, going to school, get good grades and find a great college. Later on in the child’s life they would be happy but it all starts with the question what kind of school should they start. Most parents ignore the fact that there are charter schools which are close to public schools. The few things that are different is the services that public schools provide also the grades of the students last the teaching requirement in the schools.
Constant debate exists over whether or not homeschooling works and, if it does work, how it compares to public school. More parents should consider homeschooling their children rather than sending them to public school because of family values, religious views, refined social skills, and higher educational opportunities.
In the United States 86% of public schools are traditional schools, this is due to the fact that traditional schools exceed year round schools. Of course a long summer sounds great but that isn’t the only reason traditional schools are better. Although you can receive the same education at a year round school that you can at a traditional school, traditional schools are better. They are better because traditional schools educate all students, have access to government funds, and have qualified
The class divide between those who attend private schools and those who attend public schools is evident, especially when looking at large heavily populated cities. Private schools are not government funded and so they rely on the donations and tuition from students and benefactors, which means that many private schools receive more money than public schools - which can be used to further the education of the students. At this time in America public schools are being constantly defunded and so, parents and students are desperate to be a part of the private school education, which relates to Marx’s statement that “The bourgeoisie keeps more and more doing away with the scattered state of the population.” Private schools can be rather expensive
As the world continues to change and people’s beliefs continue to evolve, the schooling system has been the one thing that has remained constant throughout history and that is not a good thing. Charter schools are more advanced public schools that prioritize the students and identifying what they’d like to learn and how children’s learning needs differ from one another. Not only are charter schools more catered toward the student populous, they are designed to give students more time in the classroom working with the curriculum and trying to boost student achievement. Public schools in essence are primitive and have become outdated; public schools have been designed to just have the
Class Size is another issue. In private schools there’s usually smaller classes, so students are getting more attention. This makes it better for the students because if they need help, then it’s easier to get help from the teachers and to be more focused because of less noise and easier for teachers to control their classrooms.
The cost to attend a private school is much more than that of a public education. On average, a student attending a private school will pay between $3,000 and $10,000 per year in tuition (Schlesman). Although private school children pay much more, public school children are paying money to attend school as well. Unlike a private school where you pay for everything up front, a public school requires that students pay for most classes through a class fee. After paying the class fees that they may have, the students still then have to pay for any school supplies they may need and any books that are not provided by the school. Most parents will not send their children to a private simply because of the money, but when in reality they will be paying for their children to attend school either way. With this in mind, parents should put their money to good use and send their children to a school that will teach them to have good character, morals and standards according to the Bible. However, a second downfall that a private school may have would be the dress codes. Most private schools have a stricter dress code than most public schools do. Though this is somewhat unnecessary, it can actually be very beneficial to both the students and the parents in the long run. By enforcing such a strict dress code, students are being encouraged to dress appropriately in a place of work. By teaching them at a younger age to dress
Private schools should be abolished because education should allow for equal opportunities for all students. Education is supposed to provide better chances of success for the student. Students that attend a state funded school faces a disadvantage as soon as they graduate from secondary school and apply for college.{ talk about private school to college ration} There have been reports about college being biased in the selection process when choosing between state funded and privately funded school applicants. Many educators would agree that a privately funded education is typically more beneficial than a state funded education. “It seems silly to propose scrapping a system of education that provides positive results and successful results.” (CITE DEBATEWISE.ORG) The system should not be scrapped but instead needs to be inputted into the public school system. It should be put into the public school sector because it is not fair for a wealthier individual to able to obtain a better education just becaus...
Public and private schools have both been exercised for a very long time. Nevertheless, it was the church that founded private schools in genesis, and anyone who attended these schools at the time were seen as fortunate and wealthy. Today, all children between the age of 5 and 16 in England are entitled to free education in a state school (i.e. educational centres that are run by the government, funded by the national taxes, and entitled to educate students according to the national curriculum). (Gov.uk, 2013) Moreover, independent schools or private schools are also common. These schools are funded through admission fees, tuition fees etcetera, and are free to teach the children what they want, how they want. Lastly mentioned are also known to expect higher qualifications when it comes to their teachers and staff, not to mention the students themselves. The selection of students through entrance exams results in fewer student, smaller classes and better s...
Education is an important aspect in everyone’s lives, and because of this it is natural that most people want to receive the best education possible in order to ensure that they live as comfortable life as possible. It is for this reason that a lot of parents send their children to a private schools. It is traditionally believed that private schools ensure a better education, however this I not true in all cases. While there are a number of advantages that a child can gain from attending a private school rather than a public school, the same can also be said vice versa.
I think experiencing both private school and public school had a lot of benefits in the long run. It allowed for me to get two different perspectives in how the education systems are run and really help shape my viewpoints and overall values. Although it was a difficult adjustment at first I don’t think I would be the person I am today if I hadn’t decided to make that change. Looking back I might have changed a few things here and there but overall I’m glad I decided to make the change and go from a very conservative private school to a public
Choosing between a public or a private school for one’s education is as important as deciding where to invest one’s hard-earned money—the consequences influence one’s life forever. In the United States, it is the law for every child to be educated. However, the decision as to where to go for one’s education is up to each individual. There is a great deal of debate as to which is the better option: for-profit private schools or one’s local public school. Ultimately, the decision is made regarding the individual student’s needs and capabilities; but if the opportunity is available, attending a private school is more beneficial. Private schools provide a better quality of education than public schools. Notable alumni and current pupils, specialized curriculum, as well as dedicated teachers and school pride make this possible.
Whether the education system should be under public or private ownership has been a conversation piece across the world. This is particularly significant with the growing value of education in a country’s progress economically, socially, politically as well as its overall well-being. In my opinion, the education system should function as a public entity for the best interests of the nation’s future since private ownership takes a profitability approach which may compromise the quality of this social service.
I think private school are better and have more advantages than public school. There are upsides and downsides for both schools. Private schools have newer facilities and other materials. The benefits of private school for the students are that they have smaller class sizes and better teacher ratios from the students. Private have a high standards for discipline and respect to one another. Seventy two percent of parents agreed to send their kids to private school, because it has greatly improved students’performance and brighter experience and achievements in there harder lessons (Maga 2). Students will also have more individual attention. Students are motivated by the teachers to help in their studies. Parents would also have more opportunities to get involved with their kid’s education and that is very good thing. Private have flexible teaching methods for the students to do better. There are many advantages for the students (Elizabeth 1). Let’s talk about disadvantages. Their goal is to offer better education without making a profit (Amy Witherbee 2). Private school charge tuitions and that sound n...
