Relatable, loving, determined are three words that people think of in connection to Princess Diana. Many people know that Princess Diana was charitable, but there was so much more to her. As a royal leader in helping the less fortunate, Princess Diana showed the world that through love, determination, and being so understandable that even the powerful can create a positive change for the less fortunate. She left a legacy as Wales’ princess.
The married life of Princess Diana was difficult. There were many contributions to the couple’s future divorce. Her match was not done well and they had few opportunities to spend time together. They intruded on the Princess’ life. Princess Diana died in a car crash. The vehicle she was seated in was going way past the speed limit trying to get away from the over demanding photographers, when the driver lost control and flipped. Even though it was clear people in there had died, the paparazzi continued to take pictures of the fatal accident and the victims inside.
Diana’s motivation to put her son's first came from her childhood. Despite her own family was attached to the royal system, her life was not a fantasy growing up. Her parents got divorced at age eight making, and she attended boarding school. While having two parents and two different houses, she began to see them both rarely, but going to the school she did, did not seem to help. Princess Diana wanted to make sure that she created a positive and loving environment for her future children. She made sure that she would include the things she admired most about her childhood and apply it to the next
Her whole life, Diana always strived to do what she could to help those around her through lots of charity work. Two famous quotes of Diana’s are “Anywhere I see suffering, that is where I want to be, doing what I can.” and “Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” about the charity work she did. Growing up in 1960s, Diana Spencer always knew royalty. This idea of power was a birth right through her father, but yet Diana did not know of the influence she was going to inflict one day. Princess Diana, through her marriage with Prince Charles, became an icon for the United Kingdom and impacted many in the world (Princess Diana Biography Princess). Along with her compassionate heart and humble soul, Diana ascended in the eyes of the public and became England’s sweetheart and beloved leader. Princess Diana soon inspired people all over the world by breaking the royal stereotypes, sponsoring many charities and providing a prime example of what it means to love one’s children and people.
Shock waves went around the world when news spread that the ‘people’s princess’, Princess Diana of Wales had died. On August 31st, 1997, she was involved in a car crash and sustained serious injuries, passing away four hours after the collision. Official investigators concluded that it was an accident, caused by the driver’s alcohol levels, and pursuing paparazzi. In comparison, a conspiracy theory suggests that the crash was orchestrated by the British Secret Service, as ordered by the Monarchy.

Beginning with her birth on July 1, 1961 to aristocratic parents Viscount and Viscountess Johnnie and Frances Althorp, Princess Diana (then Diana Frances Spencer) believed she was a disappointment to her parents because she was not born a baby boy, the desired heir to the Spencer estate. Feelings of disappointment continued for Diana during her parent’s divorce at the age of six and her father’s second marriage to Raine (a woman she despised) when she was 16. Shortly after her father’s marriage to Raine, Diana failed her “O-levels” (or college placement tests), and was sent to a Swiss finishing school to develop her passion for skiing rather than focus on academics. It was based on this new sense of freedom that caused Diana to exhibit problematic behaviors, such as relentless stubbornness and lying, as well as early symptoms of an eating disorder (Elliot & Pederson, 1995). Thus, it is the purpose of this paper to examine how the events of Diana’s life in conjunction with psychological components contributed to her development of bulimia nervosa.
