Social work is service rendered by a team of dedicated people who operate diligently to better the lives of people and relieve the fro suffering. In the modern world, which is filled with incredibly pressing and complex challenges as well as injustices, the role of a social worker cannot be underestimated. People who are fully dedicated to make a difference in the lives of other within the society are a basic necessity in the world today. Some of these characteristics include empathy, genuineness, patience, self-awareness, the desire to help, and acceptance (Burger, 2014). Francine Licata displays all of these features daily in her professional life. She shows empathy toward the families of victims receiving care at the facility where she is employed. Ms. Licata tries to comfort families when placing their loved ones in this facility. She is genuine in her endeavors to provide accurate care and wants the best for each of her victims, as well as their families. Ms. Licata must be patient with her employers and victims; she has a strong desire to help and displays this in her work. Ms. Licata goes to court to apply for guardianship of victims when necessary, often without family members of the client. They will do an investigation in order to find evidence. The guilty party will then stand before a judge and receive a punishment the judge finds fitting for the crime in question if they are found guilty. Punishments can be paying a fine, community service, or jail time. When the macro social system is used for delinquency, many of the outcomes are the same, depending on the situation. It is important that we try to understand delinquents, because these children are our future. While working with delinquents we often see the micro system in use; however, the macro system is also used. The macro system is used by the social worker who will advocate for the delinquent child, trying to reach out organizations and other groups so that they can help the child. A human service worker plays a major role in a macro environment. Social workers are going to be working with larger groups and organizations. It is important that they know which system they will be a part of in order to avoid any confusion. Social work as a profession strives to help the welfare of those within the community whether its persons or families through advocacy. Often times clients are those who may be vulnerable and disadvantaged. Social workers aim to help people fulfill basic needs in their everyday lives and assist them by providing beneficial resources and intervention counseling. They do more than just help them in their current situation, it’s about helping them to survive and set attainable goals to live a fuller and better life for themselves, and most time for their families.

In juvenile cases children are alleged to have broken a law or (laws) starting from staying out pass curfews to a charge of murder. There are special procedures that have been created to deal with youth who have broken the law. There are five basics on juvenile delinquency. Which include what is a juvenile delinquency matter? , juvenile delinquent court process, juvenile traffic offender, certifying a minor as an adult, and limited public access to juvenile delinquency cases .
The people of the state file the charges, and they county attorney represents the State. They file petitions against the juvenile to charge him or her with the crime that was committed. A delinquent act is considered an act committed by a juvenile; which would be a crime that was committed by an adult. In the event of a delinquent act, the legal process is considered different than the process used against adult offenders. The juvenile justice system tries to treat; as well as, rehabilitate juvenile offenders. This may include diverting the youth from court processes, they process these through justice services. Another difference is the speed and privacy of the juvenile trial. The juvenile case is quickly resolved while still maintain the privacy of the offender. Juveniles were given four specific rights during trial; the right to a fair notice of evidence which gives the defender sufficient time to prepare, the right to be represented by a lawyer, the right to cross-examine and face the accuser, last the right and privilege against self-incrimination. The definition of a social worker states that they are trained person that carries out work with the aim of alleviating conditions of those in need (12). This often calls the need for social justice. After learning about social workers throughout history, I realize there’s multiple ways to help those in need (11). They’ve been able to implement social welfare for the public.
