I was definitely not expecting this. I thought I was going on a peaceful plane ride to Bora Bora, but it ended up as the opposite. 4 other passengers and I crash landed on a giant island. But I mean it could be worse, we have animals, rivers and lakes, and plants. So I think we will be okay for the meantime. Right after we got there we decided that we needed jobs. I got assigned as the cook. Surprisingly our plane didn’t crash very hard because we still can use most of the things left in there. We are also lucky because we were on a cargo plane. After that, we came up with some rules. Some of them were, no fighting, no hogging, having a set waking up and going to bed time, and no being alone.

Since the beginning we have talked about getting rid of Blake because he is lazy and annoying. But Brayden, our leader, hasn’t done anything about it. So Kayleigh and I decided to leave the rest of them. I think that in a few days they will want us back and get rid of Blake because we have done a lot more for our group.
We were finally on our own. But we still were very angry at the other group of survivors. We wanted to do something even worse to them, than what we did to them. Kayleigh and I made a plan to go to their part of the island and take all of their hunting gear, put out their safety fire and took all of their wood. When we did it, it was very dark outside and all of them were asleep. We got out quickly and quietly. Now we have all of their wood to use for our fires and all their gear. Also they have limited resources now because of the gigantic fire on their island.
When I was guarding in the middle of the night I heard a rustling sound in the bushes. I was looking around and all the sudden a fire started on our part of the island. Kayleigh and grabber all of our stuff and the stuff that we took from them and moved to a smaller part of the island that was safe. Those boys have got to get the clue that they can’t get to us! While they were running around on our island, we overheard a rumor about some type of beast on the other side of the island and that they were going to use Blake as their sacrifice to the beast. Maybe next time they should be quieter, while making their
On November 28, 2004 at about 10:00 a.m. mountain standard time, a Canadair (now Bombardier) CL-600-2A12 (Challenger 600), tail number N873G, crashed into the ground during takeoff at Montrose Regional Airport (MJT), Montrose, Colorado. The aircraft was registered to Hop-a-Jet, Inc., and operated by Air Castle Corporation doing business as Global Aviation. (Insert Here)The flight was operating under Part 135 Code of Federal Regulations. The captain filed the flight under an IFR Flight plan. Of the six passengers on board, three died from fatal injuries and the other three sustained major injuries. The aircraft was totaled due to the impact with the ground and a post-crash fire.
This fire destroyed a big part of the island, thus limiting them on meat or fruits to survive on. This same disaster happened again when Jack and the hunters hunted Ralph, "Now the fire was nearer; those volleying shots were great limbs, trunks even, bursting. The fools! The fools! The fire must be almost at the fruit trees-what would they eat tomorrow" (Golding, 198). They went as far as burning the whole forest to smoke out Ralph. The event, if wasn't for the ships noticing the fire and rescuing them was all but positive, the hunters didn't think as to what would happen next after they burn the forest and kill Ralph. Ralph of course wasn't even a threat to them; Jack feared that Ralph's presence could be disastrous toward his control.
When the boys first arrived on the island, their behaviour was civilized and they attempted to convince themselves that they would soon be rescued by their parents. As the days passed, the boys began to open their eyes and realized that sitting around was not going to benefit them in any way, and most importantly it would not help them survive. Because of their new unrestricted life on the island, the boys become ruthless and replaced their previous identity.
The boys’ beginning on the island starts with a very positive and playful atmosphere. To begin, Ralph and Piggy find a conch shell that they think will help call the others to bring them together and keep them safe before they get lost and hurt. Piggy says, “We can use this to call the others. Have a meeting. They’ll come when they hear us” (Golding 12). Once they all gather together in their first group meeting, they start to feel safe and relieved that no one is hurt and they are together as a whole. They will always stay together while they hunt and play. Next, the boys come to a conclusion that they have to build some sort of signal fire to help indicate that they are on the island and get everyone off it so they do not eventually die there. They work together as a group to get it done by some little boys going to get some dead wood. The rest help to build the fire up high to get enough smoke to eventually signal a nearby ship. Jack has the idea to start the fire and uses Piggy’s glasses against the light to spark a flame. As it lights, the boys excitedly run to get more fire wood as the hope of rescue lurks the air around them. No fights happen as they...
When the boys initially land on the island, they have tons of fun and are completely carefree. Only a couple of days later though, the “little ‘uns” begin to have dreams about beasts attacking them at night.

not on the outside. All I wanted to do was find someone, get a story,
It was our fifth day in the Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico, the halfway point of the trek. I as the Crew Leader was responsible for the other 11 members of the crew, including 4 adults. I was in charge, and amazingly the adults rarely tried to take over, although they would strongly advise me what to do in some situations. Phil, with the exception of me, the oldest scout and the Chaplain for the trip, was my second. Together we dealt with problems of making sure everyone carried the right amount of stuff in their pack to who had to cook and cleanup each day. The trip had gone well so far, no injuries, and the worst problem had been a faulty backpack. As I walked I thought about the upcoming campsite. Supposedly this one had running water from a solar powered pump—so had the last night’s site but the tank was too low to use for anything but cooking because the of how cloudy it had been of late. But today was bright and shinny, and hot, so I didn’t think there would be a problem.
Life is unpredictable with all of its twists and turns; it can turn the best situation into the worst. There are people are always prepared for the worst, and those who aren’t. While it may seem though that all the odds are against the people who are poor planners, they still make it work; same can go for the people who are prepared for everything, things can get ugly if they are caught off guard. Like Jack London had once said, “Life is not always a matter of holding good cards, but sometimes, playing a poor hand well”. Meaning that it doesn't matter if someone has everything or nothing, life can still have obstacles that can mean life or death, it's what they do in those situations that make all the differences. In those situations, it would
When I stepped into the large neatly organized white polished plane, I never though something would go wrong. I woke up and found myself on an extremely hot bright sunny desert island filled with shiny soft bright green palm trees containing rough bright yellow hard felt juicy apples. The simple strong plane I was in earlier shattered into little pieces of broken glass and metal when crashing onto the wet slimy coffee colored sand and burning with red orange colored flames. After my realization to this heart throbbing incident I began to run pressing my eight inch footsteps into the wet squishy slimy light brown sand looking in every direction with my wide open eyes filled with confusion in search of other survivors. After finding four other survivors we began moving our small petite weak legs fifty inches from the painful incident. Reaching our destination which was a tiny space filled with dark shade blocking the extreme heat coming from the bright blue sky, I felt my eyelids slowly moving down my light colored hazel eyes and found myself in a dream. I was awakened the next day from a grumbling noise coming from my empty stomach.
There is an old saying that any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. There is a lot of truth to this statement, especially if you are the one walking away. Here are the stories of two such landings that I am personally familiar with. Since they are both very similar in nature, they will be discussed simultaneously in the pages to follow. N9KF was a Model 1 Kitfox. It was built and flown by my father. The Kitfox is an experimental, homebuilt kit plane. Every plane, like every person, has a story. This is the story of N9KF or at least the story as I know it.
“Goodbye, Tom! I'll see you in three days. I love you.” The woman said, standing at the doorway as her husband slowly backed out of the driveway. The feeling over loneliness immediately washed over her, and she began reminding herself that he'd only be gone a few days before he'd be back home to his loving family.
The pick-up bounced jarringly down the old dirt road. The driver sat up straight in the front seat, checking over her shoulder every few seconds to make sure that her cargo hadn't fallen out.
There was once a tree referred to as the Devil Tree by the local farmers and Cityfolk as whoever tried to lay harm to the devil tree would die a slow death, in fact those who even came in contact with the tree had dire consequences. “Cursed”, the men and women claimed, and right they were as for generations of people lay dead due to the devil tree. As time went on the old tree was able to be cut down because of humanity's new tools. The tree was turned into building wood and later turned into a house, like the tree the house was alive. It had memory and most importantly it had hunger.
Last year I got involved in a massive car accident. It was the most terrified part of life. It was the moment. I will never forget in my whole life. Before, I never realized how people really feel when a car accident happens. But,after this car accident I know what really it felt like. It was the moment. My mind was totally feared of driving. I was crushed by the hot metal and cold dirt of car. I was not feeling my arm,my body was numbed. It was felt like my lower body pressed down with monster force. All I could feel was the noise of car accident ringing in my ear.I was barely able to move my body. I was kept thinking. What my parents going to think about this? Where is my friend John? I looked through the window and saw the cars passing by
