My relationship with Pizzeria Bianco goes back well over two decades when, pregnant with my first child, each week found me enjoying 3-4 evening meals in the warmth of that charming place. Those were the early years when anyone could walk into the tiny dining room tucked away in the back corner of the Town and Country shopping center, say hello to Chris Bianco while he personally crafted each and every pizza, and grab a seat on the spot. As reviewer Bill Addison recounts, a quiet pride emanated from Bianco and his staff and a truly inspiring kind of youthful energy filled the place (Addison p 4). But the food! The food was something extraordinary and even eating there as frequently as I was, it was impossible to tire of it. Again, Addison’s …show more content…
At Bianco, this seems to come naturally. Initially, people might try Pizzeria Bianco to sample the fabled food. After all, restaurant critics don’t just like this place, they rave about it: “I first ate at Pizzeria Bianco in 2009, and it rocked my world. It was the best pizza I’d ever had, and I’ve eaten at many of the top-ranked pizzerias around the world” (Olmsted p 4). However, what keeps people coming back for decades is far more complex and includes how Pizzeria Bianco makes them feel. The combination of exceptional ingredients, Chris’ genius creativity, the staff’s impeccable warmth, reasonable prices and a little bit of something magical makes for a near perfect experience. Beginning from the moment you open the door, up until the time you receive and pay the check, this place offers value: you get more than what you pay for …show more content…
Rather than relocating entirely, Chris kept the downtown spot and opened another Pizzeria Bianco, right back at Town and Country. Having eaten there this past week, I can honestly say that thankfully nothing has changed. The space, again a bit larger, is warm and welcoming and the staff has its ever-amazing energy. The experience remains top notch and, happily, the wait times have shortened (Addison p 9, 19). And what about the consistency of the food, you ask? My melon salad was rapturous, as were the two pizzas shared with my dinner companion: the Wiseguy, house-made sausage and wood-fired onions; and the Rosa, thin red onions, pistachios, chopped rosemary and Parmigiano-Reggiano. I’m not alone in praising this third iteration of Pizzeria Bianco’s offerings. Addison’s parting words in his review answer that question, as well, “Need I even say that the pies were transcendent?” (p

Bill Buford, New York Times writer, and avid home cook, unsuspectedly steps into the chaos of Babbo, an Italian restaurant owned by the boisterous, Mario Batali. His quiet and orderly life is shattered by the disorder and ruthlessness of a Michelin star kitchen. While Bill’s superego controls many aspects of his life, he is mostly driven by his id in the kitchen. When first beginning his tenure in the kitchen, Bill carried with him his superego drive, often incorporating his New York upper-middle class societal ideals into his manners and actions. These ideals which include politeness, orderliness, and a strive for perfection are often overshadowed and defeated by the chaotic environment of the kitchen and the self-centered nature of the
Two locally owned famous restaurants in Sedalia, Missouri, El Espolon and El Tapatio, are both recognized as quality, authentic Mexican restaurants that serve Sedalia with outstanding service and great food. After paying each establishment a visit this past weekend, I have discovered some differences and similarities in the two. Although many of my relatives have chosen El Espolon as their favorite, I found El Tapatio to provide a more ethnic experience with their excellent food, sharp service, and clean venue.
For example, a cheese and pepperoni topping pizza at Domino’s is very popular because it is very tasty and delicious to many people and that is why they comeback to Domino’s. The satisfaction of a meal at Domino’s will consist of what type of pizza the customer will pick and either some chicken wings or chocolate cake added to the side. This meal will make a family very satisfied and their temptation of craving the meal again will comeback sometime later in the future, which will make them order again from Domino’s pizza. Another example, will be a dinner meal at Olive Garden, which consists of lasagna, bread sticks, and salad. This meal is very delicious and much healthier than the meal mentioned before this. This meal is a family bundle and it has a higher price than the Domino’s meal. Many customers will return to Olive Garden because this meal is great for a family dinner night. Overall, the Olive Garden meal is much better in taste, but the Domino’s meal is cheaper in
When Maddie thinks of eating pizza at a restaurant, similar to most people, she thinks of Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut has always been known as one of the leading pizza restaurants because it is spread across the country. Almost anyone can say that they have eaten pizza from there before including Maddie. However, there is another pizza restaurant that is starting to shove its foot into the pizza industry. That restaurant is Pizza Ranch. Pizza Ranch has only begun spreading its roots across the United States, therefore, it is not as widely known as Pizza Hut. In Maddie’s opinion, Pizza Ranch is a better restaurant than Pizza Hut because it has some of the many traits that make up an excellent restaurant. The most important reason that Maddie loves pizza ranch is because it is a friendly environment. From the first minute someone walks through Pizza Ranch’s door to the last, guests are treated like family. Another reason that Maddie enjoys pizza ranch is Buffet Your Way. Buffet Your Way allows Maddie to order anything that she wants and not have to pay any more money for it if she is eating the buffet. This is one of the best features of Pizza Ranch that puts it above Pizza Hut. Furthermore, Pizza Ranch always has a clean environment because the workers care about how the place looks. This restaurant also is more efficient about getting food to its customers than Pizza Hut. However, some people might argue that Pizza Hut has better tasting pizza than Pizza Ranch. Although Pizza Hut is one of the most popular Pizza restaurants, Pizza Ranch is a better restaurant because it has a friendly atmosphere, Buffet Your Way, a clean environment, and fast service.
The Mission statement of Carmine’s is how important it is for them to have a wow-factor. They want every meal to taste delicious and unique. The General Manager (Mario Contacessi) from the Theater District location where I work said they really focus on the consistency of the food they serve, family atmosphere, and good pricing. Carmi...
Fanny Fern once said, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” (Fern 1). This not only holds true for men, it surly can be said about anyone. A restaurant that can capture anyone’s heart is Carrabba’s Italian Grill. What makes it different from all the other Italian restaurants? That would be the authentic taste and experience the restaurant provides its customers with. Whether diners choose to go out to celebrate or gather the family for a delicious meal, there is one place that they will certainly enjoy having it at, Carrabba’s Italian Grill. This holds true because as a long-time customer, I’ve experienced Carrabba’s for different occasions from anniversaries, graduations to birthday parties
Shapiro talks about his time in the kitchen from when he was a young trainee through to his maturity. Shapiro may be trying to get his point across to food eaters everywhere. While, Berry attempts to encourage people to improve the way they eat by giving them suggestions on what to do, Shapiro inspires to alleviate the misconceptions about food and food preparation, which goes further, in the long run, to convince people about the choices they make about food consumption. The writer avoids any errors of fact and any misinterpretation or misrepresentation of any facts.
“Chi la dura la vince.” This soft-spoken Italian proverb sums up the series of events that Italian immigrants endured on their journey in America. Between 1880 and 1920, more than four million Italian-Americans immigrated to the United States of America in hopes of temporarily escaping Southern Italy’s impoverished and overpopulated society. Once in America, these new Italian-American citizens started ‘Little Italys’ or ethnic enclaves of Italians. Some Little Italies were even large enough to support a full economic structure of their own, providing a plethora of job opportunities. These ‘small’ Italian communities shielded themselves from general stereotypes and provided a sense of belonging which helped Italians establish their roots. America’s attitude toward these new Italian-American citizens can be summed up in part by Congressman James McClintic, a Democrat Oklahoman: "I say the class of immigrants [Italians] coming to the shores of the United States at this time are not the kind of people we want as citizens in this country." Inplace of responding by aggressive human nature, America’s new Italian citizens viewed this as an opportunity to enrich family and community bonds. As for Italian traditions, they struggled to be accustomed between the two Italian generations as the already ‘Americanized’ Italian children clashed with their parents, which resulted in altered traditions. One major example is Italian-American food which chain restaurants have come to paint as a type of restaurant that specializes in spaghetti with meatballs, pizza, and has red checked tablecloths.
The Santa Fe Grill is a relatively new Mexican restaurant that was started by two former business students from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. The idea sparked after the two roommates who were both interested in pursuing entrepreneurial interests decided that a Mexican restaurant in their city would be highly successful. While taking an entrepreneur class at the University, the plan for the business began coming together. Their main focus was to create a restaurant that would feature the freshest ingredients, as well as a lively atmosphere, cutting edge advertising and marketing, plus exceptional service for customers. (Research Methods, Pg. 19) By doing so, the students hoped that they could fulfill their dreams of ownership.
During the same period, Little Caesars made a strong push and they have continued to grow. Little Caesars' "two for one" marketing approach was effective in infiltrating the "mom's night off" segment, and is seen by customers as a great value. This is adding direct competition into our niche market share. Little Caesars is surely not making headway with the pizza connoisseurs, but it has effectively targeted a market in which Pizza Hut does not currently have a strong presence. 50% to55% of this market is made up of family dining situations. Our marketing team has conducted multiple data analyses on ways in which we can gain market share from Little Caesars within this market. After much thought and many hours of research, we have devised a marketing plan that will potentially improve our market share.

The first time went to your restaurant I was wary, but when I tried your pizza I left the restaurant dazzled, I immediately knew that your generic pizza place is most certainly a diamond in the rough. Year after year you’re my first choice for food, because let’s face it you’re pizzas are one of a kind that can make emotionless people smile with the flavor of your pizza that leaves us customers longing for more. I’ll have you know that 97% of the pickiest people I know when it comes to food consider Two Brothers Pizza their favorite pizza place. My family fancies your restaurant and they have been eating at your place for years and are planning on eating there for years to come. I have always had opposite opinions with my family with almost anything you could think of, but the subject that my family and I can always agree on is that Two Brothers Pizza has the best pizza on Earth both with its great prices and top notch quality
The Great Pizza Divide came to the forefront of popular culture in 2013 when Jon Stewart infamously ranted against the style of pizza, calling it akin to tomato soup in a bread bowl. Examining a recipe for tomato soup (Oliver, n.d.), however, one finds no mention of the cheese or meat toppings often associated with Chicago style pizza (Wikipedia, n.d.a.). A number of chefs have chimed in as well, proudly claiming that Chicago pizza is simply not (McKeever, 2014). Prior to Stewart’s rant, a 2011 non-binding ruling by Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia also attempted to put to rest the controversy surrounding the calling of Chicago style pizza ‘pizza’. “Real pizza is Neapolitan.
In my podcast I talk about the restaurant the “O”. I discuss the experience of
