Why Learn a Programming Language

Introduction
I. Attention Getter: In High School, my friend and I are discussing card games, when he starts talking about. His idea for a card game. As he describes the idea I suggested to him that his card game sounds more like an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) game. We made this agreement that we would try to develop this game, and I started by learning about the programming that is involved. Which is when I started to learn C++ programming language.
II. Specific Purpose: It is through this experience that I realized how useful learning how to program can be, while at the same time, saw that not many people knew what I was talking about. It is my hope that after discussing program languages with you, you will learn one of them yourself.

Credibility Statement: I am an individual who did his best to learn programming on his own, I read web pages, bought books, watched online videos, and wrote lots and lots of bad code, producing good pieces of code.
IV. Preview of Main Points: In order to convince you, I will answer these questions:
a. What is programming?
b. Why should I learn to program?
c. How can I get started?

I. Not a lot of people know what programming is like
a. Question: Anyone here know what programming is like.
b. Evidence: Based on my experience, I find that a lot of people, including my friends and family, do not know what programming is like.
c. I often hear generalizations about programming like:
i. You need to be good at math ii. Programming is a complex process iii. Only smart people can program
d. None of these claims are true, and I will show you.
