Good Morning Dr. Holzner, just a heads up I was working on request for patient Lieb, Jeffrey whom you have seen on 12/28 as new process, but it looks like he started evaluation already with UCLA and had a visit on 1/4/15 with them. They already started evaluation process. So I will have to just keep him in evaluation phase with UCLA is that ok?

This patient is very friendly and sociable. He was able to answer my questions without hesitation. He comes for weekly treatment of IVIG. He stated that he accepted his disease/illness and will do his best to live normal like everybody else. He stated his family especially his mother has always been there for him and see his mom sometimes tired. I was able to perform my head to toe assessment without any
"Former Bates College Dean of Admissions, William Hiss, said that intelligence is so complex, varied, and multifaceted that “no standardized testing system can be expected to capture it”(Westlund). Throughout the years standardized testing has changed its purpose and not for the better. In the late 1930s, the goal of taking standardized test was to award scholarships to "diamond in the rough" students (Westlund). Currently, the whole idea of taking the SAT or ACT is getting admitted into a college. Standardized test should not be a deciding factor of being admitted into a college.
In this groundbreaking book, Matthew Restall debunks many of the standard explanations for the success of the Spanish conquest of American societies in the late fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. As promised in the book's title, he discusses what he judges to be key misconceptions about the conquest and its context, identifying the distortions that often characterize depictions of indigenous societies and cultures and linking them to implicit assumptions about European superiority that are equally commonplace.
In this essay I will underpin the ideology that Ideas around self and identity are being re-conceptualized in the age of cyberspace. I have broken this down into two parts, the first is a discussion of the positive and negative impacts of social media sites like Facebook, on the representation of our true identities. I will examine this through a consideration of Rebecca Mackinnon’s ideology of ‘real identity’, and the implications of these virtual identities on our real lives. In the second part of this essay I will discuss Chinese Artist Ai Weiwei’s art practice and his ambitious actions against the Chinese government; Weiwei uses social media in order to break away from the restrictions placed upon Chinese citizens, through this he aims to show the lack of individuality and freedom of expression that Chinese citizens are deprived of.
The purpose of the ice breaker speech was to tell the class about a specific thing regarding who we are. I took approximately three days attempting to choose a topic, and went back and fourth between my name and first tattoo. When I went through the first tattoo speech it seemed a bit long and I didn’t want to make it too personal, although I thought it’d be interesting. I made an outline for both topics and went over in my mind, each speech and how I’d say them. I even asked opinions and only a few thought the tattoo story would suffice, although they found it interested. Both outlines had a bit of humor, a bit of something special about me, and what I think is rare factor. I only worked on a couple outlines of each. Eventually I chose the topic of my name a couple of days before the assignment and tweaked what I thought was best every time I reviewed it. I thought my name would be best because in a way the speech would still explain something about who I am, a little humor and a rare factor. I practiced in front of my roommate and in the car on the way to school and work, I recor...
I believe it is important for any student who wants to do their best in a class to take a moment to evaluate their own work to determine the rate their writing is progressing and how they can continue to advance their writing. When I looked through my own work I asked myself “what have I learned this semester?” and “what do I still need to learn in order to improve my writing?”. Answering both these questions will help me with my last step of my self-evaluation, developing a plan to learn new skills.
For my “How to do” speech my goal was to share with the class an interesting and informative way to learn something new. Due to the speeches time limit, I knew I needed to be well prepared. I wanted to be less nervous before and during my speech. While presenting I was nervous, but I didn’t really have time for these feelings to sink in because I was focused on the information I wanted to share with the audience. I enjoyed presenting in the second group of speeches so I could see my peers different types of speaking style. The audience seemed alert and interested in my topic which made it a little bit easier for me to speak, because there weren’t any distractions in the room from people not paying attention. I think part of that was because
As my English 101 class comes to an end, I have realized how much I have transformed as a writer. In this essay, I am going to explain what I realized my strengths and weaknesses are as a writer and how they have manifested themselves throughout the quarter. I was skeptical at first coming into this class knowing that English takes formidable work and dedication, but I am very proud of the progress I have made. We completed a great deal of work throughout the quarter; from grammar exercises, summary reviews, and two challenging essays. Throughout the quarter I found myself improving in each category. As a writer, my skills and confidence have developed into more clarity and thought, something I have always wanted to be, as a result of a well constructed class that led to a superb educational experience.
“Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, you have an obligation to be one.” – Eleanor Roosevelt. These are some very wise and empowering words, I must say. I believe many teenagers in today’s generation are most of the time wearing a mask. A mask that is made up of what the world wants them to be, a mask that they think may protect them from not allowing others in, a mask that was built from peer pressure, a mask that was formed from bullying. There’s always a story behind someone’s mask, as I call it. Most of the time teens nowadays are afraid to be themselves, to be individuals, due to the way they think people will perceive them. I do have to say though, that those that have ripped their masks away are the ones that have truly become individuals. Of course,
A recommended piece of “Self Evaluation” is Performance Planning. Simply put, Performance Planning is when the manager and employee discuss what will be expected of the employee. This could include a wide range of areas: sales targets that an employee will be required to meet; the average number of calls per hour that a customer service representative might be expected to handle ; or simply the expectation for a cashier that their drawer always balance at the end of the night. The importance of this is that the employee understands in advance precisely what she needs to do to meet the expectations of management and keep her job. This can also allow for input from the employee.
Self-awareness is not about reading a book or attending a course. Self-awareness is a journey, and it takes practice. It’s like a muscle that becomes more effective with time and effort. It gives us mental strength as opposed to physical strength. We are constantly changing and adapting to the multiple external forces around us and to our individual experiences. The more we learn to be aware of, and understand, our reactions, thoughts, and emotions, while also keeping in mind our values, the more we can become the best we can be and the more successful we can become.
I frequently think about the effects of words on the healing body and mind. One of the things that I focus on in my therapeutic pursuits is "positive self talk," wherein I try to take those automatic negative statements my brain tosses out and change the dialogue to something more productive.
What is life skill? Well, life skills are skills that prepare an individual to live independently and productively within society. The development of Life Skills in an individual is a life long process that starts in early childhood and continues throughout one’s life (UNESCO, 2003). Why is it important? This is important because it prepares young adults to become a more responsible adult. Life skills include skills that can empower the children to adapt to challenges and deal with their life in a gainful manner.
Personal Effectiveness is using all of our potential resources in order to achieve both work and life goals. It is when we use all our personal resources at our disposal-talent, skills, time in order to get what we want in life. In everyday life we put so much effort to get what we want to achieve in life. We spend a large amount of our time and energy. In this world many people are working towards achieving the same goal with different costs. This is because everyone has different personal effectiveness.
