Save a Life! End World Hunger! Topic: World Hunger Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to help end world hunger through several charity and volunteer programs. Central Idea: The world has a huge problem with hunger and this problem could be greatly downsized if everyone would donate or volunteer to support charities working to end hunger throughout the world. Type of Speech: Speech of Value (Make a change/ call to action). Introduction: I. How many of you can image being so hungry that you, didn’t have enough energy to talk or even walk? How many of you have went an entire day without eating and feeling like you were about to die? II. Many of us can agree with the feeling of being extremely hungry, but we can never compare our feeling of hunger to other families feeling of hunger in countries throughout the world. III. There are a lot of people around the world who are deprived of the most important essentials to survival and development. IV. I am pretty certain that no one in this room can imagine not being able to provide their family with food on a daily basis. There are people throughout the world who eat what we eat in one week for almost months. Some even have to walk several miles just to retrieve water that is not sanitary to drink. It bothers us to think about these things but there are so many families living in these conditions as I speak. Many of you may be thinking that you cannot do anything about this, but I am here today to tell you can! V. Along with the research I have completed with this topic, I recently visited an organization in Schaumburg, IL called FMSC (Feed My Starving Children) a local organization with seven locations, in the U.S. that provide food to children and families in need of a me... ... middle of paper ... ...eason for it, ways in which you can help end world hunger, and how people as well as you can benefit from choosing to help donate or volunteer to end hunger. You can help save the life of a person suffering from hunger by donating can goods and volunteering to sponsor a child or help hand-pack nutritional meals. III. What if there came a point in your life where you suffered from hunger? What if your last meal was today? Think about how much happiness and satisfaction you will bring to a person who has suffered years from hunger with just by making a simple decision. IV. Now the decision is yours will you continue to let it make claims or will you help to end it?
