If you are familiar with poker card games, especially Double Level Up, great for you. If you are not, you might have some difficulties understanding some part of my speech. Imagine that you are playing the game for 9 where you are the dealer, and you partner declare the trump as spade. After putting down the kitty, the eight cards you exchanged, you have 10 trumps, including a double spade 6, a heart 9, a diamond 9, and a small joker, 10 hearts, including an A, a double 10, and a consecutive double 2 & 3, a club A, and other 4 diamonds, including a 10 and a K. You start the game, putting down the club A, the heart A, and the heart consecutive double 2 & 3. What should you do next? Option 1: You know that no one has any hearts from what others …show more content…
Also, you do not want others to get all their diamonds or clubs away. Option 2: You can put down the double spade 6 to see whether others other than your partner have doubles. This move is safer, but you can not make sure that you can get the control back since you do not have a large joker and others might play some doubles in club that you no longer can trump. Option 3: You can put down a small spade, and hope that your partner put down the large card and he or she has some large cards in other suits that can help you to get rid of the diamonds. Option 4: You can put down a small diamond, and hope that you partner has A and the person after you do not have A. This option is pure luck based. So, which option would you choose? Actually, I would choose option 2 or 3 based on who is my …show more content…

The game of poker is a card based game, which has developed into many various kinds, in terms of the number of cards dealt, how many cards are on the deck visible for all players, and what remains hidden, over the past few decades. Despite its differences, poker of any kind shares one major significance; the factor, that either sets one winning or losing, is based upon decisions made in the long run. The utmost degree of such decisions resemble economic components, since the most elementary acts, such as raising the bets and folding one’s cards, may be regarded as a case of supply and demand. And one of them, which is the topic of this essay, is Nash Equilibrium, commonly used in games with no more than two players involved which is also known as „Heads Up“. Nash Equilibrium sets two players, with the very same count of chips, against one another in a situation where each player can either bet, all of his or her stack only, or fold. After this particular match is finished, the players‘ stacks are equilibrated again and this whole process is being repeated for sake of the long run. This algorithm is also known as „Fictitious Play“ (Dudziak, 2006). Most importantly each of the players ought to take in consideration the opponent’s decision, based on which they reach a convenient consensus, meaning, in order to maintain Nash Equilibrium, they both must correctly presume the upcoming action (Osborne & Rubinstein, 1994). Thus it is foreseeable that one or the other side, oftenly, faces a difficulty while striving for an equilibrium.

Poker is a card game that has been around for hundreds of years. Although the origin of the game and the name itself are debatable, the game of Poker is played more than any other card game in the world. The scenario I explained took place during a game of Five Card Draw. This is a very popular rendition of Poker. Poker has evolved over the years and hence has numerous types of games that still fall under the Poker category. My favorite games are Five Card Draw and Texas Hold ‘em. Both games are similar because they derive from the original game of Poker, involves betting, and using playing cards. They also differ because of the betting, the number of cards used and the way the cards are dealt.
Throughout our lives, we carry and value our own beliefs. As we face different challenges, we may be persuaded into making certain choices. However, no matter how convincing a person may be, in the end we always have the last word. Nobody likes being told what to do but we do like to hear other opinions for a different perspective. The proper way of using rhetoric is through a confident tone that is knowledgeable of their topic. The speaker should have integrity and be selfless in the sense that they are understanding towards their audience.

Ever since the fall, mankind has had a voracious desire for power and influence. People witness this desire within the walls of the Capitol Building when the media exposes backroom deals. It also springs up whenever a politician uses a podium to persuade people that he makes the world work. Politicians possibly rely on persuasion because they crave the power. However, persuasion is a manipulative, unBiblical tactic of forcing others to accept a point of view by all means necessary.
When a count is positive, or high, then the player should bet more, because they have higher odds of getting a good card, and therefore winning. When the count is negative, bet lower. How card-counting works is that players keeps track on what cards are already dealt, and what cards are left. Small valued cards are bad for players as they often either lead to busting or not having a hand high enough to beat the dealer. In the other hand, high valued cards like 10 and aces are good for the players as they have a higher chance of getting a blackjack or starting off with a good initial hand. Because of that, when small cards are dealt, the count rises, and when big cards are dealt, the count decreases. In other words, when bad cards are dealt, players should bet more and vice versa.
Draw poker: these are games in which players are dealt a complete hand, hidden and then improve it by replacing cards
Sit tight at the beginning of the game - During the early stages of the game, it is advisable to sit tight when the blinds are still small. Small pots aren't worth the effort, so hold off your aggressive betting for later in the game. Take note of hands - All hands should be considered as an unexpected hand could turn into a winning one. Bet big on big pairs - Big pairs like queens, kings and aces are great in poker. Big pairs will either cause other players to fold, leaving the pot for you, or they will try to raise with their weaker hand.
