The relationship between a parent and a child is one of the most dedicated relationships out there, but unfortunately not every child gets to experience this special bond with a parent. Up to this day, thousands of children are put up for adoption all around the world, all of them waiting to be taken in by a loving and caring household. These households could also consist of one parent, if they are kind-hearted, and loving people who are able to financially and emotionally support the child. Many argue that single parent adoption should not be allowed because a child needs both a mother and a father, but it is better for a child to have at least one parent instead of none. There are no scientific facts proving that a two-parent household is better for a child than a single parent household. The desire to nurture and to share life as a family is a strong universal need that is …show more content…

What is a single parent? Is it one who destroys their child’s life? Is it one who ultimately cannot raise a minor on their own? Or is it one who dedicates their lives to the well being of their kid? Imagine a parent, and for whatever reason they were left alone to raise a child. That parent you imagined has to work long hours just to put a meal on the table. That parent has to play the role of the mother and father. That parent has no financial support. Unfortunately, in our society, this image of a single parent is looked down upon. There are people that don’t realize how much a single parent goes through to give their child a better life.
Parents have the tendency to overlook how lucky they are to have had the ability to create their own children. Many do not recognize what a true blessing it is to have kids, and that others are not fortunate enough to experience that miracle. Ten percent of couples endure infertility (Advantages) so they must consider other options. A very popular choice is adoption. It is not only a good alternative for the couple, but also for the child who needs a loving home.
Think back to your very first memory. Are you baking cookies with your mother? Are you throwing a baseball with your dad? Now, imagine your childhood if you did not grow up with a loving family who supported you and cared for you. Alternatively, maybe you grew up in a negative environment therefore; you understand what it is like to feel unloved. What does this have to do with adoption? There are over 1.5 million children without a family in the United States. 1.5 million children do not know what it is like to feel as though they have a purpose. The only way to solve this problem is through adoption because it provides that positive environment that the child never had. Through my research, I have found that domestic adoption is a better option for families in the United States, versus international adoption. One of the main reasons it is a better option is that domestic adoption is much less expensive in the end. A second reason domestic adoption is superior is that it is a faster process. It is quicker because the parents do not have to go through the stubborn and often very difficult adoption agencies. Also, you do not have to travel to the foreign country multiple times to meet with the agency and go through all the extensive paperwork. The last reason domestic adoption is the better option is that the child has the option to meet his or her birth parents later in life. A child who is adopted internationally often does not have any family records or medical history. Despite people saying there is not a need for adoption in the United States, as of the Census in 2000, there are over 1.5 million children ready to be adopted nationally.
...my child up for adoption here are some of my personal reasons. The main reason cannot afford to raise a child, I would want to give my child all the necessary support,( emotionally & physically), might just be a set back as far as educationally and professionally and last the child was conceived while being in an abusive relationship.
Ladies and gentlemen, good morning. Adoption recently has caused a hot-spot debate in Australia . Mr Rudd just argued that we should maintain the policy but I don’t agree with him. I am sure many of you are not satisfied with the current situation because we all clear this is not a great one. Adoption is so important because it is a way to change children’s lives. This debate is not about me and Mr Rudd; it’s about you and these children so you should make the best choice. For too long this policy has been disadvantaged to the children who are adopted or going to be adopted and those foster families. It’s the time to change. Relaxing the regulation of adoption within Australia and from overseas will be one of the liberal party’s aiming next term if I get your support. And let me tell you why choosing to relax adoption’s regulation is stepping up in the right direction to change.

It is hard to define the motives of someone who wants to adopt a child from foster care since it is truly hard to fully understand the intentions of anyone. When people come into the foster home, the people who work at these homes want to believe that the future parents looking to adopt these children would provide them a loving place to stay and that the sole purpose for their adoption is to provide a better home for the child. Sadly, this is not always

The best things in life come free to us. Our parents are one of the most important and fundamental in our life. However, people generally wonder, do adopted children feel the same way we do? Adoption is not easy, it's full of risks, simply because no one is aware of the future, the person adopting a child will never know how the child will react once he's aware he's adopted. Will they grow to love them, hate them, admire them or fear them? All of these unanswerable questions makes any person think twice before having the courage to adopt. Adoption never fails to put down any parents' feelings, whether they were homeless, abandoned, poor or runaway children and also families who don't have the option of being biological parents, the pleasure it gives to all of those people exceeds all of it's expected problems. It gives hope and integrity to the families who weren't fortunate to conceive; moreover, it changes the life of the child forever mostly positively. That's why many people support adoption worldwide.
