How to Get your Driver 's License As a kid, I have always wanted to be able to drive and get my drivers license. I was always told “nope, not yet” or “no, you aren’t old enough yet”. This just only made me want to get it even more. All those years of me sitting in the back just patiently waiting to get my license was almost unbearable. Soon enough the time came for me to start to think about getting my license, but little did I know how long the process of getting it was going to be.
The first step is that kids have to make sure they are of minimum age in order to attend segment one of drivers training. A lot of the states have different laws about how old kids have to be. Once you pass the final written test, the student has to go to a designated place to take the final driving test. The student has to take a driving test which consists of stopping at a certain point, backwards parking, and parallel parking. With these three parts of the parking portion the student will be graded on how many cones he or she hits and also how accurate you are in your parking. Any points off counts against the student driver. The next portion of the test will then consist of just driving around on normal roads to where the instructor wants you to go. The instructor will grade this portion on how fast you are going (if you are driving the speed limit), the quality of your turns, and also how well you know signs on the road and if you can follow them. Anything that the student does wrong he or she will get docked points. If the student gets a certain number of points off he or she will then fail the test and have to pay for a re-do. If the student driver passes with enough points he or she will then be able to go to the DMV and get their driver’s
