When someone thinks of a drone, they think of a cool, harmless, robotic helicopter type of toy. Sadly, there is a harsh reality to these remote controlled “toys”. Drones are a serious matter and should not be used in warfare. Drones are armed with various types of missiles, bombs, and cameras. Drones are killing many innocent civilians and are making war seem more like a video game. They have been used by other countries, including the U.S, have had serious surveillance use and lost privacy, and are causing danger to those all around the world.
Each day armed drones are killing more and more innocent civilians than terrorists or other threats to a country in war. Since 9/11 over 95% of all killings from drones are non battlefield. The number of civilian deaths has also been increasing because the drones only suspect terrorists, they are never accurate. Drones are either robotic types or are controlled by remote and often miss the target, killing civilians. One drone attempt to kill forty-one men resulted in 1,147 people being murdered. They also have the power to wipe out entire cities because of the various bombs and missiles that are loaded on it. Since drones are usually controlled by remote a person does not have to even set foot on the site or even anywhere near where they want to spy or kill. Drones come in a variety of sizes and the smaller less high-tech ones are the cheapest and sold to children and teens.
