Columbus is one of my favorite places on earth. I have lived in this city for about five years, and each day I seem to fall more in love! From our top-notch parks, the bustling young crowds, to the sensational food and coffee scene and the flourishing creative arts, Columbus really is an exciting place to call home!
All of these things that make Columbus so unique wouldn’t be possible without its people.
Columbus is a growing city where diversity and progressive innovation are coupled with Midwestern-work ethic. It has a laid back atmosphere, yet, it’s progressing and changing every day. It's a city where the yuppie, the hipster, the refugee, the immigrant, the homeless and the urban poor all walk the same streets and call each other neighbor.

We also recognize, however, the good and bad in the complexity of this growth. As individuals and as a church, we want to immerse ourselves in the center of this complexity. We desire to work alongside the progress of Columbus and its inhabitants in a way of reconciliation and not gentrification.
“We seek to provide a space where authentic community can flourish beyond socio-economics and amid cultural diversity.”
This is why we are so eager to plant a church here. We truly believe the church is both called and uniquely capable of uniting all people by bringing wholeness and life into our neighborhoods. Our church will seek the welfare of the entire city by creating a culture of openness and vulnerability where people use their passions and vocations to create something sacred and meaningful.
We are so excited to embark on this church-planting journey. We believe that our SIMPLE gatherings will form us as we move towards influencing our communities for the Kingdom. We are committed to connecting with people who have a passion for being in a community where SACRED RHYTHMS will shape the way we live with one another and interact with our city. For those of you who have already expressed interest in being involved, we want to say thank you. Thank you for your support and partnership in this calling. For those interested in joining us, please consider this your
The name of the article is PRO/CON: Should we celebrate Christopher Columbus? It was made By Silvio Laccetti, McClatchy Tribune, and Los Angeles Times Editorial Board adapted Newsela staff. When you think of historical greats like Mother Theresa and Martin Luther King Jr. Columbus is not a name that I would use in association with theirs. Now on the other hand I see similarities between Columbus and Hitler. When we remember Hitlerwe look back on all the devastation that he caused and have nothing but empathy and admiration for the Jews and their endurance. Why not the same for the Indians of these great lands, whose tears and blood where shed for nothing more than mere greed.
Is Bigfoot really a mythical creature roaming the world? Nobody can answer that question, not if our scientist today. Bigfoot is a large, hairy, apelike creature resembling a yeti, there are found in Northwestern America. There is another name that Bigfoot is called and it’s Sasquatch. Some people believe in Bigfoot and try to find it. Others who think it’s a ridiculous idea to be searching for something that no one can find. There are others who are in the middle and others who just don’t care. There are evidence from films, eyewitnesses, photographs, hair sample, and footprints.
Andrew Jackson also known as, “The people’s choice,” was a self made man. He represented the South and the Western frontier expansionism. He was a strong military leader, a superior Court judge, and an Indian fighter. Jackson represented the common man. The United States of America benefitted greatly from the actions of Andrew Jackson.
Andrew Jackson became the United States of America’s seventh president in the year 1829. Born into poverty, Jackson received fame as a military hero and grew popular by representing the “common man”. He quickly became America's most influential political figure at the time. After such a polarizing career, Andrew Jackson was put onto the present day $20 dollar bill. In recent years there has been questioning by the american citizens about Andrew Jackson's qualifications. I agree that a man responsible for genocide and economic tolls on the country should not be represented on the bill.
Community is like a Venn diagram. It is all about relations between a finite group of people or things. People have their own circles and, sometimes, these circles overlap one another. These interceptions are interests, common attitudes and goals that we share together. These interceptions bond us together as a community, as a Venn diagram. A good community needs good communication where people speak and listen to each other openly and honestly. It needs ti...
Columbus would bring many new and different commodities unseen by the Natives of this world.
Cleveland, Ohio wasn’t always what it appears to be today. Cleveland is a very progressive culturally diverse city. It is steeped in history and culture and its residents have had a great impact on American culture and the way we live today. Cleveland is nothing but exciting. Cleveland is filled with great structure, history, and has wonderful attractions.
Pittsburgh has come a long way from its roots and is still continuing to change for the better. The same can be said for Pittsburgh’s musical artists and culture. As the times change and people desire something different, Pittsburgh will always provide for what people want and need no matter what culture, ethnicity, or style.
Cincinnati was one of the first well-known cities in United States. As most cities, Cincinnati pass from a place where settlers gather to a real city. Through books as “Society, manners and politics in the United States: being a series of letters on North America” by
According to the author, the role of the city mission churches in the tenement areas is to find better homes for the immigrants who come to the city and are living in deplorable conditions.
A beautiful city full of life and joy is the best way to describe South Bend, Indiana. A vast 100,000 citizens strong, South Bend is a well diverse community. From Coahuila Mexico, over 20 years ago my parents moved to this city to provide our family with a better life. Just like everything else in life, South Bend continues to change by the minute. It is full of improvements and developments to grow into a larger and better known city. As beautiful as South Bend is to me, South Bend is like Chicago in the eyes of a foreigner.
The image we are given of Columbus is an image of bravery and leadership. He became well-known and had a noble title, but eventually lost his glory and was arrested because he was a bad leader in the Hispaniola settlement. Maybe he was brave. But he was a neglectful leader and immoral, twisted man. Columbus ruined the lives of the Natives. He invaded their territory and dehumanized them. However, his conquest gave rise to years of exploration and exploitation in the Americas. Regardless of how one feels about Columbus - hero or villain - his voyages cannot be dismissed as unimportant. Unlike all who came before him, Columbus opened a floodgate of follow-on explorers, armed forces and, eventually, permanent immigrants. They all helped create the United States. National origins stories are funny things. They are designed to make us feel good about ourselves, to make us feel special and to give us a shared unity and identity - but they rarely bear much resemblance to historical reality. No one person "discovered"
