It’s the responsibility of the Social Worker, to aid diverse types of individuals, groups’ organizations and family. Furthermore, finding solutions and improve the quality of their lives, whether there is a need for food and housing to be provided or assistance for education or even that of counselling. Though not every situation, problem or issue would be resolved, but the goal is to make society a better place to live in as time goes by with the necessary resources available. Within this organization, the objective is to reach out to all walks of life and as the late Michael Jackson said: “Heal the world make it a better place.” It is a place where children and young teenagers can receive counselling, hurting women, whether married or single with a family can find solace, substance abusers can find treatment, where the mentally ill and elderly can be assisted. Furthermore, education and skills can be obtained and job opportunities can be given within the communities. This Organization also seeks to educate the public about various issues that are steadily increasing in the Commonwealth of Dominica. These are included and not limited to Women and Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse, Mental and Elderly Abuse, AIDS, etc.

To conclude, the reason I want to be a Social worker is due to the reason that Social work is a unique profession rich with meaning, action, and the power to make a difference.
