As anyone with a toddler knows, the stairs are one of the most dangerous places in a house for a little one because they can cause serious injuries or even death if a child accidentally falls down them. So it is crucial that parents install special baby gates from The Stair Barrier to prevent their children from getting hurt. But the gates that are purchased have to be used correctly for them to be the most effective. That is why we came up with the following list of “do's and don't's” for parents to follow:
Do's
-Only use gates that are mounted with hardware for the top portion of the stairs. -Make sure that hardware-mounted gates for the top of the stairs are installed so that they swing back toward the floor, not against in the direction of the steps.
-Use long screws

All it takes is a minute for a child to get hurt if they are able to get through the opening of an unlatched door.
-Use gates that are certified for children's safety. They have a higher level of protection than those that are designed only for keeping pets out of an area.
Don't's
-Avoid using pressure-mounted gates for the top portion of the stairs because they can't withstand the same amount of force that hardware-mounted gates can. So a child that pushes against them hard enough could end up falling down the stairs.
-Skip over installing hardware-mounted baby gates into round banisters or areas of drywall that doesn't have studs in it. The hardware won't be as effective in these places because it won't be flush to the wood.
-Don't climb over baby gates in front of your children. If they see you do it once, they will think that it is acceptable behavior for them as well.
-Avoid installing a baby gate too high off of the floor that is in front of the stairs. This will increases the odds of a child getting stuck underneath it if they try to crawl through the opening. The space should be kept to no more than three
Environmental modifications is a highly recommendable approach which prevents falls and injury’s from occurring. The main approach in this strategy is reducing injury and falls from recognizing and removing environmental hazards. Some hazard reducing modifications consisted of removing extension cords from the base, removing loose mats, and putting in handles on the rampart. Even though this approach is recommendable the effects are not fully established. In this clause, a written report was conducted to provide evidence to clinics, which bears out the effectiveness of environmental modifications.
Answer: Our policy is an open door policy. When parents come to pick their child , we open our door to come inside and talk with them to make them easy.
Everyone loves puppies. Adjectives like cute, cuddly, adorable, and innocent are used to describe them. Sadly, the way they come into this world can be described as nothing short of ugly, premeditated and negligent. There are those who treat “man’s best friend” as though they were man’s worst enemy. Those people are in the business of manufacturing puppies by the millions, for millions. These particular manufacturing facilities they own and run are called “puppy mills”, where dogs and puppies are forced to live in the most inhumane, despicable conditions, far greater than prisoners of war or the worst criminals in our nation’s prisons have endured, causing inevitable high mortality rates. Of the six million puppies bred in puppy mills in the US annually, four to five million of them don’t survive. Everyday, eleven thousand cute, cuddly, adorable, and innocent puppies die due to these ugly, premeditated and negligent breeding procedures. Puppy mills should be shut down and made illegal until such time that strict laws are put into place to control and enforce humane breeding and living conditions, protecting the welfare of these dogs, and drastically lessening their mortality rate and the way puppy mill owners make their living.
Some parents in the world do not discipline their children and do not care what the children. All they care about are them selves. At that point the social workers take the child and put them in foster homes with complete and total strangers. Some companies just put kids with people who do not care about the children just what they get paid. They just let the children go off and do what they want and do not supervise the children’s activities. The social workers should do more thoroughly background checks. There should also be more supervision in foster homes instead of little supervision, and the workers should visit the home and the children more often than they actually do.
When working practitioners must not only protect the children they work with when in the school setting and off site, but also themselves. Whether in school or off-site the school safeguarding policy should be referred to, to give guidance and adhered to at all times.
There’s a high rate of homelessness among the children who was been in the foster care but age out. Many children are going to the foster care because of many tragedies they already had before they even understand what is life all about. Fortunately, for them, there are some people who try to help them out and give them a second shot at life. And having a child of my own gives me a full understanding how much a parent 's guidance and love mean to their lives and I am trying to introduce adoptuskids.org to help raise awareness of homelessness and adoption to all the people and hoping that the children in the foster care system will get a lot of help, support, and love.
which prove that a foster home is not the solution to help children in need. Although the
Children are our future and they should be given every possible opportunity to succeed in life even if they are born into disadvantaged situations. Sometimes the families of certain children can’t provide as much as other children’s families and this can create a gap in the achievement and development of these children. Those disadvantaged children need special programing that accommodates for the lack of cognitive and social development that if not properly addressed could lead to poor school performance and delinquency.
Fall prevention is one of the biggest safety concerns regarding geriatric and pediatric patients in a health care setting. Falls occur almost every day in hospitals and nursing home settings because of a variety of reasons, from weak bones and throw rugs to toys lying in the floor. Tumbles can have grave effects on a child because they tend to play and not pay attention to their surroundings which causes them to take a spill. The consequences can be even worse for an older adult that suffers a fall giving their age and health concerns, this gives the elderly a disadvantage when falls transpire. Most people can help prevent falls from occurring but OTs (Occupational Therapist) are an elite group of people with knowledge and skills that train,
Single moms are the most affected and providing childcare on campus is very beneficial to them. More than 4 million women attend two-year public institutions or community colleges, and more than 1 million of them are mothers. Many student mothers struggle to stay enrolled all the way through graduation. Most of them are more likely to drop out of school, and the reason is because most often there is no affordable or available childcare and the students have limited financial resources. The average daycare center cost for an infant is higher than a year’s tuition and fees at a public college. It makes affordable on-campus child care a necessary provision for students. Childcare on campus helps to contribute to the learning
Everyone knows about foster care but do not realize the impact it has on humans ' lives. “More than 400,000 children are placed in foster care annually, with more than 200,000 moving in and out of foster homes in giving year” (Brozak, 1). Foster care changes and benefits people live, from the child to the parent. By foster care you save more lives than just the foster child. Although, foster parenting come with barrage of challenges. It provides many advantages for the people in need. Having foster children in your home is a blessing to the child, foster parents, and birth parents.
I choose head start as my topic, I chose this because I think that head start is something that can really benefit the children and how you are starting them in a positive learning experience that can affect the student throughout their life. I also chose this because when I was in high school I went over to the head start and would help volunteer and it was incredible to see how much the students knew and how fast they would pick up new things.
The term “anchor baby” refers to a child born to a noncitizen mother in a country which has birthright citizenship, especially when viewed as providing an advantage for family members seeking to secure citizenship or legal residency, as defined in the Race and Racism in the United States: An Encyclopedia of the American Mosaic. There have been many disputes on whether children of illegal immigrants should be granted citizenship at birth. Most immigrants come to the United States to have a better life for themselves and their families. By coming to America illegally, it causes society to suffer for their greediness. Recently, I thought children shouldn’t be penalized for their parent’s actions, but that’s not how i see the issue anymore. There is a great chance that anchor babies will destroy America’s future and ruin our economy.
Their hearts sank as they watched the child they had come to know and love as their own, be taken away by strangers that they had never met until today. As the CPS worker spoke with Mary she explained, “If you had just logged in her injuries acquired during the accident and told us what medicines you had used, this would not have happened.” Mary thought to herself “it was just a scrape… just a tiny little cut…” Many parents all over the world have gone through hardships like this one. If they even got to adopt at all. Many of the rules, regulations and prices agencies have come up with have been causing people all over the world to deter from adopting.
Foster Children who are emancipated out of foster care are in danger of becoming homeless because Foster Homes are allowing many unfit parents to adopt, they are emancipated before they can find a job that can support them, and they are not being taught the skills to avoid homelessness.
