Shift Manual transmission versus automatic transmission, the age old debate of their merits and benefits. Today, automatic cars have become nearly ubiquitous, decreasing the amount of people who feel it necessary to learn to drive manual. Once upon a time, being able to drive a manual transmission car was seen as a sense of pride, but today it is not regarded as such. Driving manual can be a very useful life skill due to the fact that it helps with a variety of things; such as gas mileage, repair costs, and overall safety while on the road. Gas mileage between automatic and manual cars can vary widely on a few different factors. The car and the driver of the car greatly affect how much gas a manual car uses. Because it is so easy to waste gas in a manual car, the driver of the car must pay great attention to the way they drive in order to reduce gas consumption. When I first started driving my truck everyday I would have to stop for gas at least once a week. My truck would go from full to empty in what seemed like the blink of an eye.
