Personal time off (PTO) also referred to as paid time off can be defied as the defined policy in the category of human resource management that gives employees a time off the daily duties at the work station for the vacations and other personal days off but with no payment withdrawal. PTO also covers the sick days off in such a way that the labor law set the PTO in combination of the vacation days and the sick day off. This means that the policy was set to include this two categories of days off without separating the two to be the sick day off and the vacation day off.in addition to this PTO does not accommodate general leaves that are pertained to employee such as medical leaves, business or company duty leaves among other entitled leaves.in …show more content…

These disadvantages are: Since PTO is set in a way that it covers both sick days off and vacation day off, some employees may feel unsatisfied for the period off especially in case where by the time was limited and that there is no more time to meet the demand of their expectation.in this case some employees tend to extend the time soap s to meet their expectations and this may reduce work output also the employees will be expected to make justification for the time spent out of policy. Since PTO is defined as vacation day of despite the inclusion of the sick day off, employees may fail to take the sick days off. The employees in this case may have the mentality that they will lose the time allocated for the vacation in the name of sick days off. They may therefore go on with the duties at work even if they are unwell to save time for vacation day off. This reduces work productivity as well as output power. The PTO bank takes the rates accumulation of only the used vacation day during termination.in cases where the employee has not used the sick days off, the company will have many financial liabilities to make during employees termination. This is because, even though sick days off should not be counted in the rates of interests, but its included in the PTO therefor it is
