In regards to the pots and pans I purchased, I bought a 16 piece set for $65.99. I purchased a set of Rubbermaid tupperware for $9.99, a set of silverware containing four forks, knives and spoons for $19.99, and water glasses for $1.99 each, but because I bought four cups my total was $7.96. The paper towels I purchased were in pack that had 18 large rolls of Bounty paper towels for $14.99 and a box of Glad trash bags that comes with 45 trash bags for $10.99. For the dishwasher I bought detergent for $3.49, and for the washing machine I bought the Tide detergent for $6.99. When shopping for the bathroom I purchased a rug for $13.59, four bath towels for $27.96, and four bottles of liquid hand soap for $15.96. The last general thing I bought
Ethics plays a vital role in developing accurate and high quality financial statements for management, financial institutions, and investors. As management utilizes financial statements to make decisions regarding the operations of the business, it is necessary to review accurate financial statements to make strategic decisions about the future of the organization. Investors and financial institutions require accurate financial statements to make informed decisions upon whether to invest funds into the organization or the wisdom of lending funds to said organization.
beans which usually goes for about $2.00 which is more than half of what a handyman makes in
By being constrained to only a certain amount of money made me more cautious about the quantity of products that I was buying and what brand the products were. By budgeting it made me realize that going to big name grocery stores isn’t always the most ideal option, such as Walmart and Meijer tend to be more expensive where Family Fare and Aldi’s are fairly more on the cheaper side when it comes down to prices. I realized that shopping at Family Fare and Aldi’s is more convenient for people to shop at when trying to save money and way more affordable while on a budget. While being constrained it made me find out how much cheaper the off brand products are rather than the name brand ones, which is surprisingly different when the product is basically
There is an assortment of furniture that also corresponds with the season. Each aisle here allows shoppers to personalize different areas of their home. During my analysis, I observed customers admiring an antique-style painting, which suits any living room at sixty percent lower than its original price, which encouraged them to consider purchasing the expensive furniture nearby. “If Jimmy Choo heels are on display, you’re lucky if there’s one pair in your size. This trains customers to buy it when they see it or it’ll be gone… And that’s a key point. Much of TJX’s appeal is selling what’s hot now, not last season’s leftovers,” according to Beth Kowitt, a writer at Fortune Magazine. If a customer is planning on spring-cleaning, they will find everything they are looking for in this section, but they have to think fast when they are shopping, so they won’t miss any good
The shops have a pricing strategy that ensures that people with different purchasing power can find the food product that they can afford. The price of different products will range from $4 to $40. This means that the cheapest food item in Platinum pizza shop is $4 and the most expensive food item is $40. This pricing is relative below what other restaurants are charging for the same food items. This is the perfect market strategy that the shop is
It is somewhat by accident that I find myself drawn towards the field of Construction Science. I have always enjoyed building with an incorporation of moving parts. When I was young, I started building toy cars, airplanes, dinosaurs, and everything an eight-year-old boy would imagine. It was like striking gold! I could build tracks, and cars with wheels to go on the tracks. I could even build towers with moving parts that reached the living room ceiling. Needless to say this unassuming box of used gadgets fostered a growing excitement towards construction and architecture. As my knowledge of the field grew, so did my curiosity about the assembly and preparation it takes to build useful assets like houses, hotels, even parking garages. I am pursuing a degree in Construction Science, which encompasses not only creating new spheres of urban development, but also a supporting a structure that helps a community grow. After attending Blinn College, I feel the need to expand my knowledge in the field of architecture by attending the highly credited University of Texas A&M.
I attended the Life Olympics program put on by Hosing and Residence Life on Sunday, October 22, 2017. I connected this to the Life Skills pillar because at this program I learned skills that are necessary for a person to live on one’s own. I played a couple of games with my friends; one of which we had to guess the price of household items, like Ramen noodles, which I was more than five dollars off, and various laundry detergents. It was very surprising how much I was willing to pay for cheap Ramen. In the other game, we sorted laundry, which is something that you should remember to do when washing clothes. We also made some cheap meals, like pizza in a cup. This experience will help me transition to
a coffee-pot and frying pan and sugar and tin cups, and I was set back considerable
As an Industrial Engineer with more than 15 years of work experience, I choose Supply Chain Management (SCM) because I believe that logistics is the most dynamic, vibrant, challenging, technology driven area, and the future of any big national and international companies. It will give me the opportunity to know behind the scene of improving the companies’ performance by using SCM tools. If I work in this field, I can get my answers and a chance to work in the market of raw material, purchasing, production, distribution, logistics, and final goods. After finishing two semesters in the College of Business at University of Houston Downtown (UHD), I am really passionate about it and want to gain my knowledge in the logistics sector, learn new techniques and skills, and seek new opportunities.
Real knowledge, like everything else of the highest value, is not to be obtained easily. It must be worked for, studied for, thought for, and, more than all, it must be prayed for”
I am applying for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Solid Mechanics to expand on my study of and experience with materials. I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Materials Science and Engineering as an undergraduate at UCLA. I now look forward to moving into graduate study in a field of engineering with a related, but different perspective. Materials Science and Engineering has allowed me to explore both materials and other fields within engineering, contributing to my strong interest in combining my study of Materials Science and Engineering with Mechanical Engineering. I have completed basic coursework in most areas of engineering, learning statics, thermodynamics, basic programming, and circuit design. This has provided a strong foundation to continue graduate study in other engineering disciplines. I
There are realistic solutions that we should look into in order to curb this detrimental trend. Because we can do quick little time-saver runs to the nearest mega-store, we really have lost the need and, in some cases, the ability to be creative or resourceful. Instead of contributing to consumerism by buying new clothes and household goods, we can try finding and using things that were already purchased and perhaps slightly used. (Obviously not toiletries, food, or undergarments.) There are oodles of resale shops and rummage sales that contain great products for almost always half the price or even cheaper. By not shopping at such places as Goodwill, Salvation Army, and the like, we just keep adding more and more to the already vast amount of products that are already out there and not in use. It is wise to not contribute anymore to consumerism and waste-increase by buying used items. Perhaps we should only buy new things to supplement our needs. It is unrealistic to advocate that everyone in America stop buying new things altogether. We should buy them in moderation, but there are things we can do before and after purchasing these things. Three simple solutions are pre-cycling, re-cycling, and re-using. Pre-cycling is used to prevent as much waste as possible by simply seeking out products with little, less, or no packaging.
When I look at how mankind has evolved over years, it amazes me. My career goal is to become a mechanical engineer. I aspire to become skilled enough to create mechanics, which will improve people’s lives. I come from a very hardworking family. As the first son,a lot is expected from me to set good examples for my younger brothers.

With an evolving world and growing population, environmental engineers are constantly faced with challenges to design and manage systems that help utilize our natural resources without degrading our earth. I want to be faced with these challenges head on, with my passion for the environment and ability to solve unknowns; I am destined to become an environmental engineer.
