Professionalism Employment Goals My employment goals as a social worker is to implement long-lasting social change. My reason for becoming a social worker is because I have a deep concern for individuals and society as a whole. I want to devote my work toward improving the lives of others. I also want to improve my overall knowledge in the behavioral and mental health area of social work, or to become an expert in integrating behavioral and mental health with primary care. As in most jobs, I will the lowest social worker on the totem pole when I first begin a career as a mental health social work. However, I want to gain the experience and knowledge, for any opportunities for advancement that will arise throughout my career. Many management and supervisory positions will become available and I want to ensure that I get the knowledge and experience to obtain that advancement. Therefore, I will like to be began working toward gaining the necessary experience and education that can help you advance toward this career goal.
