The Day We Had a Lemonade and Cookie Stand I woke up one summer day and looked outside. It was super sunny! I thought I could get Emma and Jude together. Oh yeah, Emma and Jude are my neighbors. As I was saying, we could have a lemonade stand. Oh my, I almost forgot you were there. Hello my name is Derek Robb. I’m an average 11 year old boy in 6th grade who has great ideas, like a lemonade stand. I mean who would say no to an ice cold lemonade on a 98 degree day. Anyways, I have to get back to the story. I went across the street to go to Emma and Jude’s house. I rang the doorbell and asked if they could play, they said ,”yes!” When they came out, I said to them, “let’s do a lemonade stand today”.They said ,“okay”. …show more content…
It was so hot, we needed some shade. I went into my garage to get a cooler for the ice and a cooler for the lemonade. Jude mentioned that we could sell cookies too. Emma and I thought that was a good Idea. We started to set up. Emma and Jude got the lemonade and I went to the store with my mom to get the cookies. We got Chips Ahoy Cookies! We brought them back and I put the cookies in the cooler. We waited awhile, then finally a jogger came running by. We waved our hands to get his attention. He said to us that he didn’t have his wallet at the time but he would come back later with his kids.We waited a long time till another person came. You may not believe me but waiting in the hot, hot, hot, sun for customers makes you not so patient. Finally, a car drove up to us and a lady's head popped out of the window. She looked at the menu and asked for a lemonade and two cookies for $1.00. I got out the lemonade and poured it into a clear cup. Emma asked if she wanted Ice? She said ,“yes please!” Emma also asked if she wanted a lemon on the rim. She said, “no.” Jude got out the chips ahoy cookies and ripped two out from the box and wrapped

It was a normal Sunday afternoon for Stanley Krizinofski who went to buy a soda at the Tops Supermarket on West Hudson and South Main Street in Elmira. As he walked out of the store, a little before 5 P.M., the next few minutes were anything but normal for the 21 year old. "I heard screaming and I looked forward and saw the guy running and stumbling. He was carrying a purse and kept running and I saw a jeep following him so I started my truck and started chasing him," explains Krizinofski.
While she sat alone in Shattuck’s diner, an apparently single mother and her two daughters were there as well, eating dinner. Suddenly, one of the children accidentally knocked over her chocolate

Papa was already ready, and we started to go into the wagon. When we started to move I was so excited. The ride took way longer then I thought it would so I started playing with the dirt on the wagon floor. By the time I looked up we were in Strawberry, I felt the excitement rushing up to my head. We were one of the first wagons there so we were in the front.
In total, Thomas was walking out of the store with 23 pies. As he walked toward the exit, he heard the mother shouting at the staff member. She screamed, “What do you mean you don't have any pies? What type of Burger King is
A gentleman motioned to us that he had finished and was going to leave. Dan got the pump number and went into the store to pay for the gas. As the car pulled away I began to pull Dan's car up to the pump when all of a sudden, this van come screeching around from the opposite direction, trying to get to the pump before me. I stepped on it and the driver of the van slammed on his brakes. I continued until I was j...
Once upon a time, in a cabin far away, it was Halloween night October 31st 1973. A group of friends decided to go to a cabin in the woods to celebrate their favorite holiday together. Busses packed full of people were going to the party that me and Skyler had planned. We invited almost the whole school. Finally after hours of searching for our final destination we arrived. Skyler and I were the first to be at that raggedy torn down cabin. We brought the lights and the beers and the snacks , we spent hours and hours of decorating and setting up finally Andy showed up to help with all the heavy work.
We First took off to the 45 minute death hike to Dairy queen, we rushed to the fake juice section, and then I had tears in my eyes, kelso was about to scream some bad words. As there was no Sunny D. We swept the store three times more hoping that
On Thanksgiving Day, a family of four walks into Walmart to buy grocery for the family dinner that will be taking place in the evening. Mother in her brain decided to make turkey, fried rice, a Cesar Salad and pasta. She knew what food is required to make those dishes, but she was completely unaware of what was in her refrigerator. After gathering her vegetables, she planned to buy dessert to end the night with the sweet cupcakes. Later, the family arrived home with their grocery and decided to put up away for cooking supper. As the mother stacking them in their places, she realizes how much food they already had in their fridge. At the back of the fridge, the two brown bananas, the half cut onion and the green pepper are spotted. The mother then took the incentive to throw the food away since the fresh ones seemed a better option to cook and she thought disappointing the guest would be shameful.
“Ready juice?” Ms. Ramer asked her. “Ready,” replied Abigail. Ms. Ramer went the refrigerator and took a juice bottle out of the refrigerator. “This one?
Immediately I acknowledge that things were differently, this was not your conventional hair salon. It was widely divergent from most places I’ve been to. People didn’t just get their hair cuts, this is where they mingle. I struggled to find a parking spot in a tiny lot just off the highway; minutes went by as I sat in my car waiting for a parking spot. It was 6 minutes later, that a black Cadillac, with nice wheels and tint, backed out and I was finally able to park. The barbershop is located in an area too small to be considered a strip mall-and apparently too small to handle all of its customers' vehicles. Once I found a parking spot, I was ready to begin my observation of the Starz barbershop.
Suddenly the alarm goes off signifying that a customer has come in. She has to stop in her tracks and go to the front to greet the customer. She washes her hands and puts on gloves as the customer describes the specialty sandwich he’s craving. The bread is cut in half and as she begins creating the sandwich, the oven timer goes off! “I’m sorry sir, could you give me a minute?”
I had just turned ten when my mom first took me to the Salisbury Chess Club at the Sage Diner. The dilapidated Sage Diner dressed as if it were in the 50s (Absolute), I was immediately enamored by the chess pieces. Soon, I established a reputation for myself as a capricious tactician able to beat all but the most experienced players. Consequently, I played with one of the better players, Phil (Appositive), almost every week. Through my chess games with Phil, I learned many values, like patience and carefulness, that not only apply to chess but also to life.
The light from the sun reflects off the pure white wall, illuminating the room. The dust floats, undisturbed by the empty house. This is what I see as I launch myself out the door, into the hot summer air, into the sounds of playing children.
