Personal Narrative: The Book Of Job

I remember the first time i read this book. I, growing up in a christian home which fervently studies scripture, had decided to try and study on my own, see what I could learn from the book whole religions based their faith off. I had decided to read the book of job, at first I planned on reading only the parts about the devil, as I was trying to figure out what the Bible, my sole source of trustworthy information, said about the devils beginnings. However as I didn’t know the exact verses to look for I decided to read through the entire book of Job till the desired passage was found but I soon found a far more interesting verse: the one cited above. For days I tried to imagine that horse, whom God had spoken so gloriously of, I tried to Imagine myself there, with Job and his friends, watching a horse scatter Its enemies on the battle field. Trying to imagine the horse rearing up and Whinnying and snorting as the trumpets sounded. I tried to imagine the rider, tried to imagine his feeling of might, to feel the power of having such a powerful, fearsome, mount. I wanted to describe the horses power in my own words, but the book of Job seems to cover it all. I can only describe the feeling of awe to see its muscles stretch and push and pull as it dashes across the land. At first I could barely form an image at all. I knew the only way to describe it was to see it. See it I would. One day my family had headed over to the theater, the movie, war horse. It was full of power and speed and despite the apparent fear in it’s eyes there was also something else. It knew, not only that his reins were in the right hands, but that it could not be outrun. So it burst forward, a mighty beast, the unprepared german soldiers running for dear life. Few escaped it’s wrath but those who did had a plan b. A trench with heavy machine guns was set on the edge of the forest behind the camp, and the few soldiers who made it there began to pour bullets from the barrels, and yet the horse ran right towards them, even after it’s rider had been knocked from his saddle, the horse ran on over the enemy lines before being captured. It was an amazing beautiful movie and there is no question as to if you should watch it. I left the theatres with my family that day with a fire still in my belly. So that was the war horse, who feared nothing and nickered mockingly at the trumpets of war; Yet my experience with this majestic beast was not yet concluded and there was still much for me to experience with it. The day I could finally truly experience this animals full might and up close power came in the form of horse riding classes, my sisters were so excited to ride one, and I, although having small respectful fear of what this living thing was capable of doing to me, at least wanted to run my hand over its
