Create a historical timeline that includes a broad overview of the emergence of Christian theological traditions and movements, before the time of Jesus. ESSAY/BIBLICAL TIMELINE The Baptist tradition is what forms my theological development. Since becoming a student of CTS, from this class, the time line etc., has helped me to gain historical knowledge about the Baptist tradition etc., from which I have become apart of, and are more comfortable. I remember as a child over hearing my mom and family members talk about the memories of being involved in the church as children. In those days they were made to go to church, as opposed to today. I never inquired about the denomination of the church, I was not familiar with the word “denomination,” I used to believe that all churches were basically the same; under one umbrella with different names attached to them, that is until I was in my twenties. At that time religion became more obvious and extremely complicated. And now, the more I learn, the more I want to know. Which is where CTS play a role. …show more content…

In general conversations regarding “God talk” it seemed as though most people would attempt to convince me that “their” church and or denomination was better than all the rest, and how I should come and check out “their church”. Most people would try to sell me on the facts that their church had a good choir, good programs, single men, talked about how sister or brother so and so, caught the holy ghost, and ran or rolled down the iles, how much fun they have at church, as well as letting you know that their church don't pass the plate around more than once or twice
