Saving for the Right Car in High School Saving for the right car in high school isn’t the easiest task for most students. Between having an online business, and the stupid spending that comes along with online gaming and micro-transactions, nevertheless I was able to get a car, but it was not a hop and a skip. There are some things that I needed to change before obtaining the goal of getting a car. First was my spending when it came to online transactions. Second is choosing what car was right for me. Third was making enough profits from my online business to even think about buying a car (applying myself more to my online business). Fourth was finding the insurance plan (some people base what vehicle they purchase just on how much this will cost.). Spending can be something that is hard to cut down on, the way I went for it was that I asked myself if I actually needed it. My online gaming made it quite difficult to buy a vehicle, the temptation of buying extra in game add-ons was quite …show more content…
I needed a vehicle that was the right balance of reliability and low cost. The first place that I went to go look was my family members, my grandparents had stopped driving and my parents had an extra car now. The car was a 2008 kia rio base package, I actually did not want the car when I first saw it because the lack of options on the inside. The car had no Powered insides, No power windows, power locks, and had a smell of old person/death. Nevertheless it was the best option for me because my parents only wanted $500, the price was right. Another bonus that was with purchasing this car was it was $8,000 therefore insurance was cheap. Other places that I did look before I did buy was Kelly Blue Book, This is a tool to tell you the value of the car and the features that the car has. I would check craigslist also to see if anyone nearby has a reliable vehicle for sale. Insurance is a big thing
...t to this becuase, when I was a sophomore I got my liscence and always have been asking for a car but never got one, but at the end of sophomore year I got one but I wasnt satisifed, so middle of junior year I had to get a more affordable car, I went from mercedes to dodge. Once I got the dodge I realized that my mercedes was perfect. So I now know that you never know what you have tll you lose it.
Another thing to note is that that a good car deserves a choice place in our lives. I am not advocating the need for a very expensive Car but one that would
Getting a car is an intricate process, as there are so many factors to consider. Factors that can be daunting if proper research of the vehicle is not done. Everyone wants to make the most of what they pay for, and wants to make sure that his or her car is of the best quality. There are quite a few makes of cars available with quality guaranteed, but two of the major are the American and Japanese made cars. Both are excellent car builders and provide good fuel efficiency vehicles that are cost efficient.
When I turned twenty-two I was excited to purchase my first car, I had been saving for 5 years in order to obtain the car of my dreams. I knew exactly what I wanted, all the “bells and whistles”, and I knew exactly what I was willing to pay and not a penny more. I thought I had a strong knowledge of the sales and pricing of the particular car I was hoping to buy, because I had done my research for weeks browsing and comparing the Sunday car ads. I was assured that my knowledge of the sales would get me a fair price and a great deal. However, my overconfidence and naivety, in the “creepy” sales tactics used by the dealership, made me unaware of the three hour nightmare that was about to ensue; leaving me brokenhearted, angry and vowing to never step foot on a car lot again.
Car-buying really starts with what you want from your car. This is the most important step of all because buying something you really don’t want could be the biggest disappointment of all. One of the best ways to figure out what you want is to sit down and think about it. Envision yourself in this car - the smell, the breeze going through your hair, or maybe, not going through your
What are some of the ways that people waste money? People waste money a lot of ways actually, they’ll get things they want instead of getting things that they need. Like me I get my nails and toes done all the time every two weeks I’m spending $50 for my nails and toes and then $10 more for my eyebrows, it’s a really bad habit but I haven’t got them done in two months.
For a young adult buying a car is a big step into growing up because after a car the next step is buying a house or renting an apartment. I made the right choice by selling my old car because now I do not have to deal with the headaches or fear of my car breaking down on my way to work or school. I stand by my decision knowing that my car will last me many years to come. Also, my mom loves driving my car and occasionally we would switch cars during the week. Her car is a little old and driving it around worries me about breaking down on me, but seeing how happy she driving my car makes it all worth
In the “Preface” and a chapter of Covering: The Hidden Assault on Our Civil Rights called “The New Civil Rights,” Kenji Yoshino, the Justice Earl Warren Professor of Constitutional Law at NYU, questions the traditionally accepted idea of assimilation by bringing about the new idea of ‘covering.’ Covering, as Yoshino, describes it, is ‘to tone down a disfavored identity to fit the mainstream’(540). He recounts how he covers in his everyday life because he is homosexual and how even with the shift in societal views towards his sexuality, he still feels the need to cover due to what he calls ‘covering demands.’ The fact that Yoshino still perceives it necessary to cover his sexuality reflects on how there is wrongly a difference between our civil
The day started off like any average day, I took a hot shower, got dressed and got prepared for the day. It wasn’t until I sat down and started eating my bowl full of cheerios with extra sugar, that I realized what was actually happening. Today would be the day I finally bought my first car, after a year of hard work and conservative economic decisions.
In this day and age, the majority of people get places they need to be by driving a car. Think about how much time you spend driving my sister and I around. This is why when I turn sixteen years old, a car would be an important tool. During my teenage years, I have been responsible and mostly independent. Having a car of my own would teach some of these conditions, but overall would compose me to extra accountable. There are an abundant amount of pros as well as cons to buying me a car of my own, but in the end, the pros by far outweigh the cons.
Everyone wants to have a nice car for their first car, but many settle on whatever they can get that can run. Still, unless they know someone or if they get amazingly lucky, the car is going to cost them an arm. Putting them further into the whole of money they do not have. If they are smart they will wait and just walk to their job or take public transportation. There is always an alternative but most people don’t want to take the alternative.
I went to Disney World in the summer and it was my first time there so I was really excited. Me and my mom had the all inclusive package and the food there was amazing. We stayed for 1 week and we got to see everything. My favorite ride was Test Track where you could make your own car and then you got to go through all the stages in this simulator ride to see if your car passed. My favorite park that went to was Epcot. People have said that I am great at reading and can pronounce and read difficult words. ELA is not my favorite subject. Mostly because I do not really like ELA. I used to read a lot when I was 6 and 7 years old. Now I don’t really enjoy reading as much as I used to. I have trouble understanding which words are adjectives, nouns,
We all dream in the day we get to purchase our first vehicle. The day we stop asking our parents to take us here and there. Some may say buying a vehicle is a pain in the you know what. It can seem like a stressful situation if you're not familiar with the process. However, working in the car industry has taught me valuable tips and tricks that will help me teach you to save money when car buying.
The best part of buying a car online is not having to deal with the pesky sales men that run out as soon as they see you pull up. I really hate that, I just want to walk around by myself and if I need your help I will come in and ask you. I bought a new car about a year ago and every time I went to a dealership a little sales guy came out and told me that I should sit inside the car. I can tell if I don't want to sit inside just by looking at it. I usually got the new guy who was desperately trying a little too hard to try and sell me a car that I wasn't even interested in just because he needed is first commission check. When I started to ask questions they kind of just blew me off because of my age. I believe that their mindset was 'here's a young kid who is obviously going to finance this so I'm just going to try and convince him that he needs to pay $16,000 for a car that has no air conditioning and an am/fm radio'. When you shop online there is no age barrier until you start the buying process, definite plus.
With convenience comes cost. There are many costs associated with owning a car. Firstly learning to drive can be prohibitive, with lessons often out of a lot of peoples budgets. Once you have passed your test buying a car can also prove expensive. It is often the case we have to buy cheap second hand cars as new cars are very expensive. Sometimes this is fine and you can have a reliable car, but other times you pick one up that’s not been well maintained and can cost you a fortune in repairs and keeping it on the road.
