I was at Bay Beach Amusement Park with my family a few summers ago. I was having a awesome time until my brother, Brandon suggested to go on The Zippin Pippin, a wooden roller coaster at Bay Beach. I am terrified of roller coasters, and heights, so this wasn’t my kind of ride. But, some how my brother got me to go on with him and my brother in law. All I knew was that I was going to screaming for my life. While we were standing in line, I was getting nervous by the second. My palms started sweating as we got closer and closer. There was only five more people in front of us when I wanted to back out. But, then my brother in law said something very inspirational to me, “ You never will get outside of your comfort zone if you don’t try things you're afraid of.” …show more content…
That really got me thinking I have to do this to get over my fears.
Finally, we were boarding the ride, and there was no turning back now. I had to face my fears. As the ride started moving I was holding on for my life, there was no way I was letting go till the ride was over. We started up the first part and I was prepared to go up and down the hills ahead. When the ride went down the hill, my scream was forced out of me, and I couldn’t stop. As we jerked around corners, and zoomed down hills my fears were getting smaller. When we went down the last hill I actually put my hands in the air. Soon after, the ride came to a stop and we got off. When I was walking to where the rest of my family was, I was so glad I went on the roller coaster to face my fears. I would totally go on other roller coasters if I had the
chance.
When I was about 10 years old, my mom took me to a roller coaster theme park in Massachusetts. I was terribly afraid of the huge roller coaster that appeared in front of me, and while I waited in line, the anxiety of waiting to die in a roller coaster made my heart beat through my chest.
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
Have you ever felt the rushing wind on your face while spiraling through the air? Well if so, then you have probably been on a roller coaster. This October was the first time that I have been on a roller coaster. Traveling with a group of friends, went to the Haunt Night at Worlds of Fun. It was quite an thrilling experience. There were zombies and goblins prowling around, waiting to give you a scare. When we were on our way I was nervous, but excited. As we all trudged up, Keeshawn, Paige, Makenna, Cooper, Katie, and I went to the first ride, The Patriot.
The next day we went to Hollywood Studios at Disney World. It was really hot that day, but it was still super fun. That was my first time going on a roller coaster. I was really scared, but my parents convinced me to go on one, and now I love roller coasters! We went on this ride that was supposed to be like flying through the sky around the world called Soarin’. It was a really cool experience. We also went on this ride called the Tower Of Terror. It was really fun.
Handshoe had to get all of the tickets and drink bracelets. Next we got inside and Me, Landon, and Zach got a locker so we didn't have to carry around our bags all day. So the we go to our first ride of the day but Zach was to scared to get on anything so he just waited, we got on the Corkscrew, and it had a ton of twists and turns. After that we just walked around for a while, but then landon got to scared to get on anything else and so it was just me. So me and Landon were supposed to go on this ride called the Magnum, so i got into one of the cars and then i told Landon to come on and he said ha ha, no, and so i was stuck on this ride all by myself and i was kinda scared. After what landin did to me i just found another group to ride rides with and so i found Brandon Chase's group and just rode rides with them and Bradlee Kinnard, We rode The Rougarou, The Millennium Force, and a ton of other rides, and while on most of the rides i lost my voice and got sunburned. Then it was time to
So after waiting line forever they open up the gates and everyone takes off to their favorite rides. My group dashes for the indoor roller coaster. So considering it’s indoor I’m thinking its nothing to crazy. Well I was wrong. The flight of fear goes 0 to 60 in a matter of just a couple of seconds and does 4 loops and 3 corkscrews. We get into line and we are one of the first to aboard this death machine. After hearing the death screeches from the other people in front of us I was officially petrified.
Have you ever been on a roller coaster.? Well I have. Roller coasters are fun and scary at the same time. It’s like your heart drops to your feet and your chest comes up to your throat. That feeling is awesome.! Have you ever ridden the furry 365 at carowinds? That is an insane roller coaster. I bet you haven’t ridden the tennessee tornado.? I rode it with my dad it was fun and scary at the same time. On the roller coaster you go from loop to loop. There are at least three loops in the whole track all spread out. But it is fun anyway, in fact it is so fun that you will want to ride it over and over again. I hope you get to ride the fire express. It is in tennessee. My dad,my brother, and I all rode the fire express together and had A good time.
I know it was just a ride in a park, but I always think about day when I'm feeling too scared to try something new. I remember what it felt like to fly down that big blue slide. I realize that I might be quiet, even invisible, but hidden inside me is a brave heart.
As soon as the cart reached the top of the tracks I knew we were in for a long bumpy ride. The cart descended, I gritted my teeth and pushed my legs against the seat in front of me to brace myself. I'm screaming now, this is my first roller coaster, I do not know what to expect. All I could see was my life flashing in front of my eyes and the moment just before I decided to jump onto this roller coaster of death.
The first ride on one of these fantastic beasts gave me an instant rush of adrenaline. As the death-defying ride started, a lump in my throat pulsed like a dislodged heart ready to walk the plank. As the ride gained speed, the resistance to gravity built up against my body until I was unable to move. An almost imperceptible pause as the wheel reached the top of its climb allowed my body to relax in a brief state of normalcy. Then there was an assault of stomach-turning weightlessness as the machine continued its rotation and I descended back toward the earth. A cymbal-like crash vibrated through the air as the wheel reached bottom, and much to my surprise I began to rise again.
Your friends have to practically convince you to change your mind in matter 30 seconds. At this point you can hear your own heart beating in your ears. Everyone seems to vanish and the only thing that you can see is the seat of the roller coaster that has sweat on it due to the previous rider whose nerves got the best of him. There is no turning back now and you have no choice but to get on the ride. Sitting on the ride, waiting for the ride to begin is the most heart wrenching part. You cannot prepare yourself to be flown 50 miles per hour. When you take off, it feels as though your breath is being pulled from your body. For a slip second, you feel like you can’t catch your breath, and you can see the people in front of you desperately trying to gasp for
We all drove up the the park entrance and into the parking lot. After seeing the coasters from the ground, they looked fine but then I realized that they would seem way higher than they were. Then the doubt of going on the roller coasters started rolling in. I always wasn’t able to go on the big rides whenever I came here because I was always scared of them because of the heights.
I am by myself wearing my blue jeans and an old flannel shirt. It is cool outside but I decided to leave my gloves at home, feeling comfortable with my warm shirt and my sturdy boots.
The journey of life follows a predetermined pattern; we evolve from needing influence and guidance to finally reaching that point where our lives are up to us. I consider myself very lucky up to this point in my journey. Some people become sidetracked and wind up on a far different course than initially planned, but the detours I made have only assisted in embellishing the individual instead of devouring it.
It was dark that night, I was nervous that this dreadful day was going to get worse. Sunday, October 23, 1998 I wanted to start writing this to tell about the weird things i’m starting to see in this new neighborhood. Gradually I keep seeing pots and pans on the sink suddenly move to the floor. I would ask my sister but she is out with my mom and dad getting the Halloween costumes. When they got home I didn’t tell them what I saw because i've seen Halloween movies and I have to have dissimulation otherwise the ghost will come out and get me first. October 24, 1998 I think I got a little nervous yesterday with the whole ghost thing. 12:32pm, Went to eat lunch with the family today and I go to get my coat. I heard the words furious and madness,
