I am a really nice person, I have dreams, and I set high expectations for myself. There are a couple of things that stand in my way and doesn’t allow to achieve my goals, but what bothers me the most- RBF. RBF is just a nicer way of saying that person seems to be angry, upset, irritated or bored because of their expressionless face. Resting Bitch Face is what I would like to change about myself! In my case of RBF, I appear angry. People appear to be timid and nervous around me, I find myself having to smile and nod my head a lot whenever they are talking to me or else they stop talking because they feel like their annoying me. If you are one of these people, please do not feel timid around me, this is just my face! What bothers me the most

The behavior I would like to change is the management of chronic stress. Chronic stress is a precursor for most health problems in today’s society. If we look at the start of most health problems, we can likely trace it back to chronic stress. Chronic stress releases levels of cortisol higher than normal. Cortisol is a hormone released from someone with chronic stress, which can which can negatively affect the body’s ability to function.
Physical manifestations of GAD often include headaches, trembling, twitching, fatigue, irritability, frustration, muscle tension, and inability to concentrate. Sleep disturbances may also occur. Individuals suffering from this disorder may appear to be always tense and unable to relax, or may startle more easily than others. Often they might seem to be constantly moving or fidgeting, unable to sit comfortably through a movie without worrying about something else that needs to be done.
Happiness is fake, like something forced upon me; something not real, fabricated and I don’t like it. I’m supposed to like it though. I’m supposed to like everything the government forces on me. I feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t feel content with my life, everyone else seems to be perfect while I’m falling apart at the seams.
Have you ever looked and someone and you thought to yourself, “That person must be having a bad day.” or “Hey, you look really happy!” This happens on an everyday basis. So, what caused you to think this way? What is happening is you are reading their facial expression. These facial expressions are the muscles in our faces that are working together. Human faces are a main component to conveying a person’s emotional state. Facial expressions are a form of nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication is the process of communication through sending and receiving wordless cues between people. There are always key points of the facial expression that would give away which emotion the human is feeling. For example, if someone is caught off guard, they may scream and their eyes may ...

There are times that my facial expression reveals a disagreeable thought. The perception may allow others to feel hurt. While no harm is intended, it is an area that admittedly needs improvement. However, in reality, much deep thought is being applied to whatever topic was mentioned. Also, there is room for improvement when first impressions are concerned. It is imperative that I realize a beautiful physical appearance is not always a sign of intelligence and some things are not what they seem.
Any communication interaction involves two major components in terms of how people are perceived: verbal, or what words are spoken and nonverbal, the cues such as facial expressions, posture, verbal intonations, and other body gestures. Many people believe it is their words that convey the primary messages but it is really their nonverbal cues. The hypothesis for this research paper was: facial expressions directly impact how a person is perceived. A brief literature search confirmed this hypothesis.
Religion has always been confusing for me when regarding myself and my family. Everyone around me had their own or didn’t have one at all. My grandparents were catholic and taught their six kids in a catholic mindset. All my aunts and uncles got baptized, went to church every Sunday, and read the bible. Once they got older they stopped going though. I don’t think any of them even stills believes in god anymore. Then there’s my sister, Julie, who was raised catholic in her younger years. Her grandparents would take her to church and Sunday school and even wanted to get her baptized as a baby. My mom said no though so she wasn’t. When Julie was in Elementary School her grandmother sent her to a religious camp. I didn’t have to go though because
Just like my peers reciprocated my nonverbal behaviors that I perceived as negative they also reciprocated the nonverbal behaviors that I see as positive. Instead of being intimidated as I usually am I made sure to look nearly everyone I was talking to in the eyes. Not only did I make more eye contact, but I added a smile to make it less awkward and to not come off too strong. My point to smile in addition to making eye contact resulted in people smiling back at me and some even saying “HI!”. This also led to me having more conversations than I would typically have in my everyday life. I think this change mostly rooted from me being able to see people’s emotions in their eyes which helped me have more empathy with what they were saying. Having empathy with what someone was saying made me more interested in the conversation. Eye contact and good nonverbal behaviors make the people you talk to like you like and care more. This proves true because the people I talked to must have felt that I was more interested because they were more open about their opinions and that made me feel more comfortable to do the same thing. Even though what we were talking about wasn’t really that important it had more meaning than a conversation in which these behaviors were not practiced. Not all times did my eye contact and smiling get the response I hoped for like those instance, but there were times where I ended up having to compensate for
