The first time I ever went to South Carolina it was magical. The ride to South Carolina was time-consuming and tiresome. My family and I departed to IHOP on the way and got some pancakes! When I first arrived in South Carolina, I was flabbergasted at how stunning the state was on a starry night. Driving to the condo, I was thrilled about how much space we had. I discovered many of the features of the complex. The next day my family and I went to the beach. On the way to the beach, we saw a pond with a hundred turtles and a few vast fish and one of the turtles was the size of a penny and it was delightful. The turtles would come up to the bank of the pond and I told my mom, “That we would have to come back and feed the turtles.” Then we
walked to the beach. It was very jam-packed, but we managed to find a spot and we put our stuff down. I ran into the calm, crisp ocean and swam out far into the ocean. My mom took pictures of my dad, brother, and me in the ocean. While I was at the beach, I rode on a skin board but I fell off a lot. When night drew near I took a picture on the beach with the setting sun in the background; I even drew pictures in the sand with a stick. When my family and I were not at the beach we either were sleeping or trying to find dolphins off the dock. My family and I went on a boat that would take us out to the ocean to see sea life, but we did not and I ended up falling asleep halfway through the boat ride. When we went back to the dock we finally saw some dolphins. I was so blissful! I wanted to see dolphins the whole trip! I quickly took out my camera and filmed the dolphins. It was a dream came true and I had gotten it on film. I was sad that our family vacation was coming to an end, nonetheless I had a great time, plus I would recall this vacation for years to come. On the final day we were staying there I got to feed the turtles and take pictures with them. I promised myself that we would go to the beach one last time before we left and we did.
To any one wondering what it’s like to live in Miami, the simple answer would have to be marvelous. Needless to say, it’s impossible to describe what it’s like to live in such an eminent city with just one word. Miami is famous for its beautiful beaches and its Art Deco architecture but most importantly it considered the melting pot of the United States. Living in such a diverse and illustrious city certainly has its perks. The atmosphere is vibrant. The weather is wonderful year round. The city is alive while the suburbs are roaring and growing.
“Coastal Carolina is too far away for you to come home when you have the chance.” Kaylee (my Girlfriend at the time) said to me in my first car as we talked about college choices. I told her about my acceptance to Coastal Carolina University I received from Mrs. Emmons (personal guidance counselor in high school) during a school day, early February. Kaylee’s words made me start a to question myself; “What other colleges can I choose?”. I came home and sat down with my parents in the living room with my Coastal Carolina acceptance letter in my hand and they were proud of me. I asked my parents the same question I asked myself earlier that day “What other colleges can I choose from?”. When
Jackie Robinson once said,” Yes, here is my homeground here and in all the Negro communities through the land. Here I stand.” Jackie overcame many barriers. One barrier he overcame was leaving the people he cared about to play in the Major League. I had a similar barrier that I overcame. I moved from Boone to Winston Salem. I started kindergarten and moved in the middle of seventh grade at my old school. The school I went to was pre-k through eighth grade. Since I started there, I wanted to finish there. I always thought I would but plans change. We all have to deal with change.
Have you ever been to Texas? I have been once. My trip to Texas was unbelievably awesome. I saw many of things on my way there. While we were there, I had loads of fun. Many things happened while we were there. Texas was the coolest place I have ever been.
... Carolina has to offer its visitors, it is easy to see why travelers from all over the world come to this fascinating state. With majestic mountains and inspiring historical and cultural attractions, North Carolina truly is a place like no other place in the United States. Maybe this is why many travelers return to North Carolina year after year.
Growing up in a small town left my life lacking in experiences and opportunities, I felt trapped. Nothing memorable or influential ever happened in Swansboro, North Carolina. From the spot where you passed the initial “Welcome to Swansboro, Friendly City by the Sea” sign, whether you were entering the town from the east or west, there were only a handful of assorted businesses and neighborhoods, considering the only road through was a three-mile stretch of highway, before you reached beyond the city limits and were headed to the next town. Living in such a close-knit, barely populated community greatly impacted my thoughts, beliefs, and personality. Except while everyone else was content with the average town and the limited possibilities for
The story of my life when I first moved to Greenville, South Carolina, I went to school at Greenville Middle. When
It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
Just yesterday, I retired from being a world traveler. I am getting close to the age of 61 and I can't really hike mountains or go scuba diving anymore so I decided to retire. Back when I was about three years old I moved from my birth state, sunny Orlando Florida, and moved to North Carolina where I lived near the woods and that made me want to explore. I lived there for about four years and a half. I still remember my last day in North Carolina because it was so cold and snowy that i had to wear two jackets and three shirts! When I left North Carolina I moved to Virginia and I stayed there for about two and a half years, and then we moved again to indiana and i stayed there for half of fifth grade and all of sixth grade until we moved to
The place where I would like to call me second home is located all the way down in Savanna Georgia. I can remember way back about nine years ago in the summer of 2008. The plane ride was a long and hot, and I spent the whole ride playing on my PSP. When I got off the plane I remembered walking through the freezing cold Savanna International Airport seeing all the flags of different countries hanging from the ceiling, but then taking one step out of the airport front doors looking for the car services that was rented and feeling the crushing 100°F heat and deathly humidity. But it is all worth the painful heat to spend time in the beautiful city.
I experienced the magic of the monuments glowing at night without all the hustle and bustle of the tourists. I experienced a scavenger hunt for my art history class, involving running from museums and monuments all over Washington. I experienced the privilege of living next to Fort Reno, a national park, that boasts giant hills for sledding during the winter and a stage used during the summer for free concerts. All of these experiences helped me see how special D.C. truly

The last thing was when we were all in the garden and this was describing my childhood.
The entire family got together and it was always a last minute thing but no matter what was going on we all decide we would go up to County Park Lake to have family time. There would be my grandma and my Aunts and Uncles and their kids when we pulled up to the parking lot. Under the shade trees the women would be sitting trying to stay cool and the older men of the family stand around a grill they would be sitting up the charcoal pyramid to lite to start grilling the food while the kids where at the tot lot playing the equipment you could hear the laughter of the kids playing . Also the mean talking about which is the best way to grill. The women would be laughing at the guys arguing over which way was bett...
While walking by the shore I was amazed by the soft smooth sand beneath my feet, it seemed like all the worries I had throughout the year were finally erased. There was a rock facing the ocean that it thought was really cool, so I decided to settle there for a moment to appreciate the view, I closed my eyes for a second letting myself comforted by the sounds of the ocean, the sounds the waves were making against the rocks was impressive. Spending a few more minutes on the rock I decided to go back. Tying to help my parents for making breakfast, they sent me and my brother to get bread, and a few croissants at the bakery. My brother was driving while I was still wondering the landscape, I thought it was interesting how this island contained a mix between mountains, and beaches. At the table, conversations were spontaneous and positives, I forgot how fun breakfast could be when spending with family. That day we had has a plan to go to the beach, my mom could guess what me and my father had in mind. It was scuba diving and hunting with harpoons, but before we had to first buy the necessary equipment, and study the fishes we could hunt, since some were protected, and review the fishes that were edible. Finally done with preparation we headed to the beach, me and my dad waited that day for so long, being a big fan of hunting, I was quite impressed by the number of variety the Mediterranean Sea could provide, also what really shocked
