Cassidy, Audra, Kaylee and I were in the car on our way to Mall of America for Kaylee's 14th birthday. I was literally so excited to go because I love Mall of America so much, and not to mention I love to go shopping. The ride to minnesota was extremely long, but to pass the time we watched the entire Twilight series, so that was a very interesting process. When we finally got to Minnesota we went to the cozy little hotel and had lunch while we were waiting to go to the mall. We went to the mall shortly after going to the hotel and finally started our fantastic shopping spree. There were so many great stores I couldn't even handle it. I have been to Mall of America before Kaylee’s party, but I didn't remember this many stores, so it was kind of exciting for me. We walked around so much within the first hour of being there, I literally thought my feet were going to fall off. The mall was so big, and had so many different kinds of people. …show more content…
Kaylee and Audra were the ones buying things in those stores, because they had boyfriends and wanted to get them sweatshirts or something. While Kaylee and Audra were buying their boyfriends clothes, Cassidy and I went exploring in the gigantic store filled mall. Me and Cassidy were kind of just walking around to look for stores to go in later when Kaylee and Audra were with us, but then we found the biggest Forever 21 we've ever seen in our lives, for real, it was bigger than our school and we both got way too excited about it. The problem was that it was on the other end of the mall from Kaylee and Audra. Cassidy and I’s luck was just perfect, because as soon as we walked into Forever 21, Kaylee called me and said that she had her money in my purse. So me and Cassidy walked all the way back to the store to give her money to her so she could pay for her boyfriend's
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
What comes to mind when you hear the word adventure!!? Well there is a place in Florida that is guaranteed to bring out your inner kid every time you visit. This place is known as universal Orlando Florida. This is a place where you can go on vacation and have fun like never before as you did when you were a kid. On my visit to Orlando I stated at a four-star resort located inside the theme park known as Cabana Bay Beach Resort, also went to universal studios and islands of adventure were I felt like I was a kid again.
Walking through the mall I noticed that the target market was mainly high-end customers and people who where not worried about spending a little more for a great product. There were a lot of galleries and the atmosphere was very sophisticated with marbled floors and stained wood accents that gave the overall appearance of catering to professionals as well as young adults. There were a few stores for men, but the majority of the stores were focused more towards women, with also some children stores.
As my family piled into our car for our four-hour drive, I sincerely hoped my brothers wouldn’t ruin the best chance that we’ve had in a long time. They were already arguing about who got what video game, and were not making my mom and dad feel any better about going. We were going to Illinois, to Chicago, to be even more specific. Chicago was the city I’d been dreaming about visiting for a long time. (Well, that and New York.) I could not believe that my parents were getting out of their comfort zone and taking us to a big city.
The sound of music, filling the air with happiness, resonates throughout the area. The scent of delicious buttery popcorn and glazed turkey legs that go on for miles and miles. The feeling of excitement coming into the place is felt in the atmosphere. It is the image of a once in a lifetime moment. When people come in, their imaginations become reality. The name describes itself perfectly. Walt Disney World is the place of dreams and imagination. People come from all around the world to see the rides, characters, food and the entertainment of Walt Disney World. I remember when I went to Disney World this past March. It was the third time I have gone to Disney World. To see the amazement and the expectation of the
For as long as I can remember, there has always been a common stereotype that if you're a female then you must love to shop, but even so I am an exception to this rule. I particularly dislike the experience of shopping at the mall. One mall I stay clear of is Fashion Valley, especially on the weekends. Just pulling into the parking lot from the overcrowded main street is a total nightmare, there just seems to be cars and people everywhere. Then you spend so much time circling the parking lot to find a good spot to park, even with the option of parking far away, it still seems hard to find a parking spot. Not to mention that once you find parking it’s like a can of sardines all crammed into one area, making it hard to even open your car
Whenever we go out shopping or relaxing at malls, we actually don’t see or recognize any effects of malls as we mostly go there for these two reasons. Malls are an integral part in the lives of America. They are shopping centers that have created a lot of buzz in many writers. This is because we have more malls in America than high schools. Malls have received praises from people like James J. Farrell, Jon Pahl and George Lewis who view malls as not only shopping centers but also as places that provide a reflection of the American culture and serve as centers of pleasure and entertainment. In contrast, William Kowinski and David Gutterson criticize malls for just being an artificial environment that creates disorientation among American shoppers. In my opinion, malls are just magnificent commercial buildings that create a sense of false dreams and imagination.
Now these stores you won’t find at a mall and only downtown has them. I love exploring each and every one of the stores. On one store they may be selling colorful figurines and a collection of vivid detail blankets and the store next to it may be selling clothes or electronics from blenders to HD televisions. One of the many reasons I like to go into the stores is to glance at the way they’re decorated. It’s just amazing
When you walk into a discount store such as Ross, you will notice rows and rows of clothing racks. If you look down you will see tile floors. Ross has several different sections. They have a men’s, sports ware, women’s, juniors, children’s, under garments, electronics, luggage, kitchen accessories, shoes, accessories, bed and bath, and seasonal. These sections are all scattered through out the store. When you walk into a section, you will notice the aisles are very close not allowing carts east access between them. If you are looking for a specific item be prepared to search for it. Since all their clothing is on rows of racks all the different types of brands and styles are all together, not allows a quick walk in grab what you want and leave type of deal. All of Ross’s registers are in the front of the store. So if you in the back of the store and ready to check out you must first walk to the front of the store. If you want to try something on before you purchase it you must walk to the back of the store where the fitting room and bathrooms are.
Growing up, I was very fortunate to have hard-working, loving, and supporting parents who provided my sister and I with a good life. A good life to me means having a roof over our head, meals everyday, an allowance for our basic needs, and family trips every so often. Last year on November 1, 2014 my mother Sandra and I decided to go to Los Angeles, CA to get some shopping done and have a nice meal at one of our favorite restaurants. Once we arrived to Los Angeles, we witnessed so many homeless people on the streets who are living in their tents and asking people for change at all times. This struck me because often times one does not realize how fortunate they are until they witness others who are struggling on a day-to-day basis begging
I feel like I hit the jackpot with this one, this was the second to last days I would end up going to Union Square and was I happy I decided to. As I was sitting on the steps, I looked over to spot a man who had stains on his t-shirt, paint dripped on his boots and a rather intense opinion about politics. He had a sign that said “Free Speak out” on it and he was definitely cutting it loose with his opinion (Fig. 11). “I’d like to bring up a few points about Hilary that people don’t know before handing the mic over. She overthrew the government of Honduras, we know that. Now Honduras is a wreck, it was a wreck before, it’s even worse now. (Eric). “Ok, were going to open up the mic, this is a free open speak out and we’d like to hear what other people have to say” (Eric). The gentleman named Eric who was first speaking as seen in (Fig. 11) was the one who organized
It was about two years ago when I arrived in United States of America, and I still remember the day when I left my native country, Honduras. As I recall, one day previous to my departure, I visited my relatives who live in San Pedro Sula. They were all very happy for me to see me except my grandmother Isabel. She looked sad; even though she tried to smile at all times when I was talking to her, I knew that deep inside of her, her heart was broken because of my departure the next morning. I remember that I even told her, “Grandma, do not worry about me, I’ll be fine. I promise that I will write you letters and send you pictures as much as possible.” Here reply was, “I know sweetie I know you will.” Suddenly after she said that I started to cry. For som...
Ever since I was about six years old, I wanted in the worst way to go to Disneyland. I would hope every year that my parents would chose Disneyland as our next family vacation destination. I dreamt of the day I would come back from Disneyland with exciting tales of adventure and a pair of sparkly, ruby red and black Minnie Mouse ears of my very own that would be the envy of every kid in my elementary class. Once I finally went to Disneyland, it was amazing; Disneyland was everything I had expected and more. However, a couple years later when I returned to Disneyland, it was different. The rides, buildings, and everything in the park did not have the same allure. The magic I had experienced as a child was no longer there.
Of course the happiness ended when we went to Riverchase Galleria for food. The mall was gigantic with shops scattered to the sides, pristine with polished white floors, and jam-packed with people. Corridors were sprawled out like branches and food scented the air. The building itself was one-million and five-hundred seventy square feet, two stories tall, and completed with two hundred plus stores. When I
shop to look at and there was always something to do like a big game room with
