Remember back in the glorious days of 2010 when the world was a much better place to live? Businesses could afford to give out merchandise and trips for free, and were not regulated by the corrupt U.S. government. Well, one lucky man received one wish to do anything that he wanted thanks to a genie from Make a Wish Foundation. “This seems as though I am in a dream!” he said to himself, but I wasn’t. Now came the most difficult part, which was to pick one location in the entire world that I would want to experience. Since I would have done anything to see a Philadelphia Eagles game live, the genie granted that wish. However, she took it a step further and said my family and I are going to Dallas, Texas to see the biggest rivalry in the country; …show more content…
It was in the high seventies, no clouds in the sky, and the sun was beating down on us. Then when I looked down, there was a huge limo sitting in front of us. When I realized that it was transporting us to the football game, my jaw dropped to the ground. After my parents pinched me to make sure I wasn’t dreaming, we left in this giant limousine to the best match-up of the season. At the stadium, we were escorted behind the scenes to the owners’ office. I was able to see all of the Superbowl Trophies, rings, and other memorabilia from the Dallas Cowboys. After being in the most famous office in Texas, I was able to go down to the Cowboys locker room and met the Dallas players. This is when I almost ended up in hot water. Coming into this trip, I was a huge Eagles fan. So therefore, I was asking my dad “Why can’t we be in the Eagle’s locker room instead of Cowboys?” At that moment, I could tell by the look in my dad’s eyes what he was thinking. “I cannot believe that you are complaining about which locker room you are in. You should just be happy that you are able to have this free trip and meet NFL superstars regardless of the team that they play for.” So after I was able to get over the conflict of enjoying myself and being a diehard Eagles fan, I began having a phenomenal time. Before the game I was able to meet the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Drew Bledsoe. This guy …show more content…
Even without any touchdowns during the game, it was the most exciting atmosphere I have ever been in. The excitement was not over yet because after the game I had the honor to go back into the locker room and spent more time with the Cowboys players. Even though I was happy on the inside that the Eagles won, I had to act as if I was sad since I was in the losing team’s locker room. At this time I learned what the real meaning of sportsmanship was. The players were still extremely gracious to my family and me. They gave us tons of merchandise; signed jerseys, pictures of me with team members, and a signed
Will the real “America’s Team” please stand up? This term is widely used throughout the media when referring to the Dallas Cowboys. “America’s Team” was first coined some 40 years ago while introducing them for a feature film by the legendary sport writer Bob Ryan. In the following years, because of their success and mass media exposure they were a team that America as a nation could identify with ,so the name stuck. The Cowboys since those days has regressed into a very mediocre team who only looks for moral instead of actual Super Bowl victories. Their owner’s thirst for television coverage and eternal relevance has given him the nickname “The Ringmaster.” Enter New England Patriots. The team adorned in red, white and blue whose name signifies the revolutionary
Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen. Meeting this evening as a group Green Bay Packer and NFL fans we recall many unforgettable moments in Packer history. From big hits to miraculous passes, we will have in the back of our minds forever. Every Sunday we are glued to the television watching the Packers. Win or lose our fans have always been there to support the team. It is a privilege to have with us a man who thrilled many spectators. Win or lose he was always there to boost the fans and players moral, Brett Favre.
The Dallas Cowboys, America’s football team, one of the most well known professional football franchises in the sport’s history. The Cowboys own five super bowl titles, which were won in ’71, ’77, ’92, ’93 and ’95. They are also home to 19 renowned individuals who have been inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame including standout football stars Tony Dorsett, Emmit Smith, and Troy Aikman. Established in 1960, the Cowboys have been a dominating force on the field and still continue to produce to this day. Forbes wrote, “The Cowboys franchise value reaches over 1.85 billion and are listed as the third most valued sports team in the world”, (Page 1). With all of this hype and world wide recognition the powerhouse from Dallas needs a venue just as prominent as the team itself as well as having the capability to hold all the weight the Cowboys name carries.
I will start a contest for the fans who want to meet their favorite player. The fan who will win the contest with maximum accurate answers will be given a chance to meet his/her favorite player.
We were down by the field, and the smell of the chopped up rubber in the turf flew into the air. Cold air flew all over the stadium. We went down by the players to try to get an autograph, and I was right next to Charles Tillman! The person next to me got his autograph, but I got a high five. When I sat back down, I felt the cold plastic from the seat.
Were there any funny stories that happed with you during your trip with the team?
Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado has been one of the most memorable places. I have ever had the privilege of being. After seeing the concert I could not believe I just witnessed Metallica and Linkin' Park let alone be in the new stadium of Denver, Colorado. Having been to Washington, D.C. seeing the Vietnam Wall and Lincoln Memorial was quite memorable but the most memorable place I have ever been to was Invesco Field.
For years I’ve been planning a family vacation but had never decided a pleasant and fascinating place to visit. A lot of people relate the adventures in San Antonio for tourists. To mention a few, The Riverwalk, Sea World, Six Flags Fiesta, and The Tower of the Americas are the main attractions that would be perfect for a family trip. I was so enthusiastic and explored more into it. I gave my family the great news of going and exploring this amazing city on our own! San Antonio offers the best of attractions and activities in all Texas! Whether you’re looking for popular entertainment for the whole family or to spend time with your friends, I was so positive I had made a superb decision!
Louis Cardinals hosted a game as part of a failed plan to alternate between St. Louis and Dallas. The NFL gave up on the enterprise after the Cardinal’s poor attendance and performance compared with the Super Bowl-contending Cowboys.
The Eagles at that time were becoming better and better each season because the Eagles signed a new head coach Dick Vermeil who lead the Eagles to only one winning season which made the Eagles think about changing things up.
Following one’s hometown team or childhood NFL team through the regular season, playoffs, and hopefully, the Super Bowl has become a staple of today’s culture. Whether or not their favorite team makes it to the big Super Bowl game, they still find themselves cheering on one of the teams competing. This is even the case for non-football fans.... ... middle of paper ... ...
Have you ever been to Texas? I have been once. My trip to Texas was unbelievably awesome. I saw many of things on my way there. While we were there, I had loads of fun. Many things happened while we were there. Texas was the coolest place I have ever been.
Despite playing in a small market and among the notoriously fickle southern California fan base, the San Diego Chargers have emerged as a fairly successful franchise in the NFL. While the Chargers have certain limitations due to their venue, they ameliorate this in a number of ways, including the cuisine they offer, their tailgating experience, their involvement in the community and the type of players they have on their roster in order to generate and accumulate extensive and sustained relationship capital. Though the Chargers play host to one of the worst stadiums in the NFL, they deliver a solid game day experience for fans. Qualcomm Stadium was constructed in 19671, making it one of the oldest arenas in the league.
Yet, for all the years my family has lived in Texas, we have never once tuned in to a Texans game or cheered for the Cowboys. No, instead we root for the Washington Redskins. Although geographically they are 1500 miles away, they’re never far from our hearts. Cheesy, I know, but the Redskins have really become a part of our family
The moment had finally arrived, we were about to enter the newly built stadium. As we approached the entrance, there was a small line of people waiting their turn to be frisked. While waiting in line, I noticed that there were certain things not allowed into the stadium for safety reasons. One lady had a large chain that resembled a dog chain in her pocket. The guard told her to take it back to her car or throw it in the trash. When the lady threw her chain in the trash I realized how devoted some of these fans really were. I thought to myself," maybe I'm not as big of fan as I thought," and continued through the gates. After our entire group got through security we had to separate, due to the different seating assignments.
