Personal Narrative: My Senior Year Basketball Team

The most successful team I have been on was my sophomore year golf team and my senior year basketball team. I learned different lessons from both teams and coaches that I will be able to use throughout life and in the real world. My experiences from both teams taught me how to be a better person and be able to thrive in real world work settings, along with the ability to impact the lives of others around me. Some of my favorite matches and games weren’t always the ones that we won, but the ones that we lost and the lessons we were able to learn and grow from them. The next match was regionals, we implemented these values and lessons in our game and stayed consistent throughout the tournament and won. We were able to win conference the next season and almost win regionals again, becoming one of the best seasons in the program. However, throughout my high school basketball career, we didn’t win many games like we hoped, but we built a family and created a better environment with the help of our coaches. My favorite basketball season and most successful happened to be my senior year. With the hopes of winning more games than in the past, we successfully reached that goal. Along with learning important lessons along the way. We learned good teamwork skills, hard work, and we battled adversity. When our games didn’t go the way we wanted, we stuck together as a family and supported one another. When our coach hurt her knee during a game, we rallied together to try and win for her. The lessons that our coach taught us have helped me in my job today at Harris Teeter and I have been able to apply the lessons I learned throughout my journey so far in
