My hero is Mae Jemison. She did everything you could imagine, including traveling to space. I had the chance to meet her and immediately took it. She is my inspiration for so many reasons. She is an astronaut, she is highly educated, she worked in the Peace Corps, and is always giving back to the community. This is why Mae Jemison is my hero.
Mae Jemison was the first African American to go to space. Not only was she the first African American she was also the first woman ever to travel to space. She graduated from Stanford University, the fourth best college in The United States of America. She joined the Peace Corps and worked as the medical officer in Sierra Leone and Liberia. These are just a few of her many accomplishments making her
Mollie is the patient in our case study. Mollie lives with her daughter and son in law, both in their 70’s. A home health aide assists Mollie five days a week for three hours each day. At age 94, Mollie is an older adult, considered to be part of a vulnerable population, at risk for hearing, visual and mobility deficits. This at risk population can experience changes in cognitive or physical status making the activities of daily living difficult to perform (Meiner, 2011). As people like Mollie age, gradually becoming less able to function independently, their grown children, potential caregivers, may be preoccupied with the demands of their own lives and not prepared to care for an older

What is a hero? For many, a firefighter, police officer, or superhuman may come to mind. According to Robert F. Kennedy, “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or the lot of others, or strikes out an injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope.” Clara Barton, a civil war nurse and the founder of the American Red Cross, is the epitome of a hero, as her heroic acts, courage and care during the Civil War serve as an inspiration for others in today’s dark times.
Who is your hero? If that question was asked to a group of people, some might think of loved ones or family, and some may talk about doctors, firemen, or even a teacher. However, most would probably say their hero was some celebrity or star athlete. While some celebrities and athletes can justifiably be labeled "heroes", there are some people who may appear to be heroic, but lead a completely different life off the field.
A hero is a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal. John Barth, an American novelist, once wrote, “Everyone is necessarily the hero of its own life story” (FamousQuotes.com). Julia Child was her own hero, she is now a legacy in the culinary industry, she not only inspired America to begin cooking French food, but she also became a role model to housewives and working women alike.
Bessie Coleman was the first black woman to earn a pilot’s license. She went to the Caudron Brother’s School of Aviation in France because all of the flying schools in the United States denied her entry. Bessie Coleman specialized in stunt flying and parachuting. She still remains a pioneer woman in the field of aviation.
My Personal Michigan hero,Luis Andalon, works hard and never stopped working hard, which inspires me to be great. My hero overcame coming from a big and a poorer family, always worked hard and never stopped. A hero is a person who inspires you and cares about you, like my hero does. My hero doesn’t have any real superpowers, but it feels like he
Heroes, crime fighting people that save the world from bad guys and super villains. Some heroes might be like that, but not my hero. This man was a normal person that rose to a opportunity that he saw and took it. He help many people with their hardships of being treated differently. My hero is Martin Luther King Jr, he had many great ideas that changed history forever. I think that he did it all out of love not popularity and he did so in a peaceful way, therefore I think he is a great hero.
Christopher Reeve once wrote, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” I believe that ones hero is not only someone they look to for strength, but also find inspiration to make it through their own obstacles in life. A hero might not be dressed in a flowing cape, or wear a suite made of material able to withstand the heat of red, molten lava, but someone that you find refuge in. My inspiration is my beloved Grandmother, Bertha. The inspiration I find in my Grandmother Bertha stems from her love for everyone, the endearing way she spoke, and her ability to find the light in any negative situation.
My personal hero would have to be Freddie Mercury. The impact his music has left on me is immeasurable, the music he’s given the world has truly changed me for the better.
My mother is my hero because she has taught me to treat others with compassion, thoughtfulness, and generosity. She taught me that those values were important in the best way, by living her own life according to them. She didn’t just tell me about values she felt were important, she lived by them. I have always admired my mother and felt so blessed to have her in my life. I know I am a better person for having her for a mother.
When one thinks of heroes, names such as Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and Mother Theresa often come to mind. These people had done a lot of favors, courage, helps, and more of things for the people who needed them. They have change the world. But, heroes can be in anyway, even in each of individuals in the world. I have the persons who I think is the best hero in my mind. They are my parents.
Every piece of me has seemed to come from an inspirational woman who has somehow graced my life. Whether for a second or for a decade, they have made imprints on my soul. To limit myself to describe the one person who has given me the most inspiration would be virtually unfeasible. I am a collage of influence and choice made by those with whom I have interacted.
When asked who their hero is, most people respond with the name of an athlete or an actress/actor. When asked who my hero is I would have to respond with a simple three letter word: mom. My mother has been the greatest inspiration in my life and is the main reason that I am where I am and who I am today.
