“One’s best success comes after their greatest disappointments.” as said by pastor, speaker, and social reformer Henry Ward Beecher. This teaches us that even when you're about to give up and quit there's always something good that comes out of hard times. I had a hard time learning to downhill ski. I was always worrying that I'd break an arm or leg. I also worried that I might fly off the tracks and head straight into the woods. In this paper, I will Introduce my adversity and tell you how I learned to ski. I was always worried about learning to ski and the dangers that went along with it. I could not go down the runs the same way as everyone else did. My friends would fly dangerously down the runs while I would be far behind them slowly inching my way while my heart raced. I was very cautious and often would not venture on the same trails my friends would go down to avoid peer pressure. Fall after fall went by and I started to realize that perhaps skiing is more dangerous than I thought. …show more content…

I had overcome a lot of challenges. On my first time ever going down a hill was two years ago. It was about midday and I was at the bottom of the bunny hill. I had tried to stop but it being my first time I couldn't so I ran smack into a little boy and the argument my parents and I had afterwards wasn't very pretty. Another time I went skiing was with Kyle Miller and he showed me a little passage through the woods on west trail. When we got to the trail it was blocked off so we had to go around the fence to sneak in when nobody was around. Kyle went first and I watched as he swerved through trees and made his way out. It looked so easy I said ‘it's just a tree right?’ Well I should have had second thoughts about going down because my right ski got clipped off by a twig judging up from the ground and for the next five feet I road on one ski until I came to an immediate stop, stomach first into a huge boxer elder
