I am Just Another Daydreamer
I am a dreamer, and am always in deep thought. Everything that goes on in my life and all that goes on around me is played and replayed repeatedly in my head. I think about why things happen, and imagine what might happen in the future. I think about how things could have been and about how things can be. When I was asked where I see myself in three years, immediately an entire scenario played in my head. I imagined myself going to school, living on my own, preparing to own my own boutique, and just being that typical college student. The entire setting changes constantly but my goals tend to stay the same.
The incessant buzzing makes me roll over and slap the alarm clock: 12:00, time to go to class. I drag myself out from under my bright orange 300 count sheets. I slip on my slippers and drag myself into the bathroom, only to see a big curly knot at the top of my head, with scattered tendrils sticking out, like they have a mind of their own. I jump into the shower and tame this crazy hair of mine. I walk out of the bathroom, to see my roommate...
Dream: (noun) a strongly desired goal or purpose. Future: (adjective) coming after the present time” (Merriam Webster Dictionary). Every hope and every dream is to reach something in the future, weight loss, house, family, job, money, are all centered on the future. You try to lose weight now for something in the future, you save money now for a house in the future, and you take classes now for a career in the future. What about the now? What happens when you get that career, or the house, or the satisfied weight? Will you be pleased with the career you persuaded? Will you enjoy the house or will it turn out to be more than you can handle? Will you be thrilled with how you look or be able to sustain your satisfied weight? It could be “a terrible, terrible mistake” (92) or you could just be “acting like a little boy” either way the dream is “sitting in there all alone” (93). Weigh the consequences and decide, like Gatsby, to take a bold chance, “invite Daisy” over, or move onto a new dream
We are not born knowing everything about ourselves; it is a daily learning process. Some live their lives vicariously through others, while some yearn to learn themselves. So, with all this being said, how do you see yourself?
Personally Saturday nights are my favorite, and I followed the same routine every weekend. So why would this weekend be any different? My room felt cozy as I looked up time to time to see my twinkling Christmas lights I leave up all year. I loved how the sweet scent of vanilla filled up the plain air of my bedroom. Wearing my biggest sweatshirt that dangled at my fingertips, I sat on my bed leaning comfortably on my pillows. Every now and then, the sound of a notification would break the sound of silence. This is how I preferred my Saturday nights to be.
Anyways, I was just sleeping in my bed like any goddamn person and my roommate decides to wake me up. Oh man was I mad, what kind of person really wakes someone up when it’s a saturday and I obviously am sleeping in. Oh I really hate it, I remember when I was at my old school a couple years ago there was this kid, Gary, every damn day he woke me up way earlier than I wanted to be. Everyday. He was always turning the light on and walking around like a mad man, I mean who in their right mind does that every single day. Does he realize that there’s someone else in the damn room. Okay so yeah, when this kid, named Harry if you were wondering (even though you probably don’t) woke me up, it just brought back some bad
Who i really am? I think that everyone thinks about that. Everyone thinks different about themselves. Also teens are the ones that mostly think about this because they are getting out of high school and some don’t know what to do when they graduate. I think about the same because i don’t know what to do when i graduate from high school.

Who I think I am? I’m not exactly sure who I think I am or how to describe who I think I am. I tend to act differently around certain people. Constantly changing to try to seek approval. Constantly in fear of accidentally doing something wrong; that I might say something wrong and all my friends will abandon me or leave me for someone better. I think this fear came from when my best friend was taken from me. I had known her since preschool, but she had met another girl and she stopped talking to me completely. I’m in constant fear that this will happen to me again, so I struggle to be accepted. I don’t want to be forgotten again.
I have always had a passion for writing however, I do struggle with it. My weaknesses and strengths are what make my writing style so unique. I struggle with directly writing down my thoughts and feelings. It takes me awhile to develop a good writing flow. Especially if I am not given specific guidelines for the paper. I also have problems with my word choice. Of course, I want my paper to consist of intelligent vocabulary; but I often use words that just do not make sense in the context. Despite my weaknesses I have very many strengths that somewhat balance out my flaws. I have such a creative mind when it comes to writing because I perceive situations in so many different ways. This opens up my choices of exactly how I want to write my paper.
Reading and writing has always played a vital part in my life. From toddler to adult, pre-elementary to college, I’ve managed to sharpen both skills to my liking. However, even though it significantly helped, schooling was not what influenced me to continue developing those skills into talent. Many different things shaped and influenced my learning, and now reading and writing have become the safety net of my life. I know that even if I have nothing else in the future, I’ll still have my talent and knowledge. To ensure my success, I hope to further develop those skills so that I may fulfill my wishes.
As a senior in high school, many students ponder the big question of life that seems to be asked by many. No, that question is not where do you want to go to college, what are you doing after high school, that question is where do you see yourself in ten years. As I reflect on my childhood, I have many dreams and aspirations that I would like to accomplish within the next ten years of my life. In ten years I can see myself having many of my goals accomplished, if not accomplished, I will be working on accomplishing those goals to fulfill my life. I live with my mommy and daddy in La Cresta, along with my brother.
My personal vision of the future is not something I have taken a significant amount of time to ponder in the past. I have general ideas of where I see myself both personally and professionally in future but have not identified specific steps to get there or pondered why I want to be in that situation. When taking on this somewhat daunting task of identifying my future self it is important to identify my driving values, philosophy, dreams, and my personal calling. Self-reflection on these characteristics and preferences are key to a developing a successful picture of the future.
I am sentimental, out-going, indecisive, understanding, curious, naive, lazy, and young. I want to be ... , well a lot of things, and growing is discovering what they are. I feel people cannot see the potential within, although there is no one to blame but myself. I look to others for approval instead of to myself. I aim to please; it leads to approval. I don’t like to discuss my faults; I pity myself.
I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of someone choosing for me.
