Fragile is not broken It’s a sunny summer's day in San Francisco, California. Sydney is at the beach building a sand castle with her best and only friend, Jenna. Sydney is average weight and height but has had a problem with her back since she was a baby. This does not do much harm, though she does walk slower and differently than other people do. Other than that, she is completely normal. Wavy blonde hair, and frosty blue eyes. Jenna is very shy and only has Sydney for a friend. She is also average weight and height. She has curly cocoa brown hair and caribbean sea colored eyes. They were so happy playing with the little sand castle in the sun. “I am so glad it's summer,” said Jenna. “Why?” Sydney asked. “Because we do not have to deal with Vanessa and her friends,” Replied Jenna. “Yeah, me too. She was super mean and would not stop calling us those horrible names. I do not blame her though, she has been having alot of family problems,” Sydney tried to convince. “That does not give her the right to do those things to us. Especially to you.” Jenna explained. “Well she is gone right now. She will probably not be in the same class next year. And,we have all …show more content…
She did not really mean what she said. She was just angry. She could not tell anyone about it though. Those girls were her only friends and she did not want to make her parents even more stressed. On one of her lonely days she decided to go on a walk. At that walk she realized all of the things she did wrong. She realized that she could not just sit there and feel guilty. She needed to do what her friends had done and what she should have done a long time ago or, should have never had to do. She was going to apologize for what she had done to Sydney and Jenna. She was going to do it before school started which was in less than two weeks. So she needed to think about what she would say to Sydney and Jenna and tell them. Before it was too
I’m actually kind of shocked I could write about recovery because it is a topic with a special meaning to myself. But, I found it easier to write about my own experience with a negative event this time, and I believe it is because I grew as a writer. I saw the value the personal testimony adds to a piece, and thus I could add my own story.
It’s amazing how a horrific and negative life changing event can encourage and guide you in the path of your future. The end result may not be visible when it first takes place, but the process of a recovery can be extremely educational. You see, I was provided the opportunity of job shadowing firsthand the fields of athletic training and physical therapy due to a knee injury. I believe the majority of people would consider a severely damaged knee a dramatic setback in life. I was able to find the silver lining during the recovery.
She let go of his hand, crossed to the other side of the table, kissed Daniel’s cheek, then hastened toward Lionel’s
Bailey Parker Professor Lodge Violence & Victims 4/15/24. Introduction: This book was a difficult read. Shattered: Reclaiming a Life Torn Apart by Violence is a memoir written by Debra Puglisi Sharp. Debra describes her horrifying experience of surviving a brutal attack in 1998, during which she was repeatedly raped by her attacker for five days.
"I'm fine, darling," Nietra interrupted, smiling, "it was just a small fall which winded me for a moment or two. Luckily my darling granddaughter Elya was here to help me and get me comfortable."
The memoir that I chose was the autobiography of Robert B. Oxnam, A fractured mind: My life with multiple personality disorder. The book is the account of a man with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). DID, once referred to as Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), is characterized by a person having more than one personality identity. This means that an individual person has separate minds within his/her brain. These different personalities, sometimes also referenced as alters, identities, or multiples, exist together and are thought to be a result of either physical or sexual abuse in early to mid childhood. The validity of the disorder has been criticized, but is recognized by the American Psychiatric Association and is published in the

that I never deserved you... [and] all I can do is ask for your forgiveness. So forgive me, Mariam jo. Forgive me. Forgive me.
“I suppose that I have never properly thanked you for saving my life. I am sorry for that. I was not sure then that I wished it saved.”
Hugo kept his distance, a far figure in the dimming light. The support systems had gone into cascade failure some time ago, something that effected only one of us. We were surrounded by his element, from the seas raging outside to the blood that slicked the marble floor and soaked the hem of my clothes. The bodies of his court littered the edges of the hallways, some last punishment on those who stayed loyal for failing to stop the war.
The documentary The diary of a broken mind accurately illustrates what it is like to live in a society with mental illness. To go into more detail, it shows the issues faced in society with dissociative identity disorder and bi-polar disorder. This documentary shows the many hardships someone must overcome to try and maintain a day to day life that involves social connections, and trying to achieve the same goals that someone without these disorders would be capable of. The two main people focused on in this paper are Jess and Abby.
“It’s all right,” Pawl told her. “There are always risks that come with magical healing; it’s not ideal. But I thank you for
There is a point in everyone’s life when they step back and realize “I can’t do this anymore, it’s ruining my life”. Many of my friends have started smoking cigarettes while drinking at a very young age, and continue to use this drug currently and don’t realize the affect it has on their future. While I have been smart enough to avoid smoking, I haven’t been as wise at making decisions when it comes to drinking. The amount of partying I’ve done in college has taken over my life, and has had a huge impact on my grades. Changing my drinking habits and continuing to avoid cigarettes will enable me to be the best I can be for the rest of my college experience.
Hi Claire. I don’t know exactly what I said to you over the week, but what I do remember is that you told me that I made you uncomfortable. I am able to put A and B together and I think I have a pretty good idea of what I said. That is something you don’t deserve from a friend, or from anybody in general unless it is something you ask for and want from another person. I have to think by now that you must think that my apologies are not heartfelt and sincere, and that is a choice you have to make for yourself, but I want you to know that they are sincere in my heart.
“ No, not until you tell me what I did wrong” I screamed with tears building up in my eyes.
