In the middle of July, my mom, brother and I went to Six Flags. This wasn't our first time going there, nor our second. What made this time special was that we went there extremely early so we could ride all the rides. The lines to ride the roller coasters weren't as long, until it reached evening time. There were a couple of water rides near the roller coaster. My brother and realized this one water ride with the boat. We rode it the last time we were in six flags. The water ride have a boat that you sit in and grip on to by the sides. The boat took you around to a big water hill, which was really high. As you we went up the hill, we'd thought that we'd fall but we did not. As we took hold to the side of the boat the hill of water brought us all the way …show more content…
At the top stood a man with a black shirt that says six flags on it. “Are you guys ready” He’d asked. “Yes” We said. The man hands pressed down on a red button which started to make us go down the hill. As we went down the water started splashing on me. I heard the sound of the splashing water, and my brother yelling like a girl. My grip of the boat got tighter, because I thought the boat was going to tip over. The smell of the water wasn’t quite fresh, but not as bad either. When the ride was over I put my hand in the water until someone came to unhook me from my seat belt. The water wasn’t as cold as you’d think, but it was clean if you didn’t include the fallen leaves in it. When we got out of the ride we wanted to ride more thrilling rides. So we rode the American Eagle, The Batman, King Chaos, The Raging Bull, The Superman, and other thrilling rides. The only ride that was really terrifying was the American Eagle. I think mainly because two men were acting very wild behind us, kicking our seats, and screaming like maniacs. It made my brother cry, a little because he thought that they were going to get us killed. Even though he was only twelve and I was only two
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
What comes to mind when you hear the word adventure!!? Well there is a place in Florida that is guaranteed to bring out your inner kid every time you visit. This place is known as universal Orlando Florida. This is a place where you can go on vacation and have fun like never before as you did when you were a kid. On my visit to Orlando I stated at a four-star resort located inside the theme park known as Cabana Bay Beach Resort, also went to universal studios and islands of adventure were I felt like I was a kid again.
Every year since I was a freshman in high school my family would all pack into our car and head to Six Flags for my father’s job. This was usually one day I could count on for unexpected entertainment. Each year was a new experience in the making because one year it may be sunny or one year it may rain, but HEY! Its Georgia weather what can you do about it?
The sound of music, filling the air with happiness, resonates throughout the area. The scent of delicious buttery popcorn and glazed turkey legs that go on for miles and miles. The feeling of excitement coming into the place is felt in the atmosphere. It is the image of a once in a lifetime moment. When people come in, their imaginations become reality. The name describes itself perfectly. Walt Disney World is the place of dreams and imagination. People come from all around the world to see the rides, characters, food and the entertainment of Walt Disney World. I remember when I went to Disney World this past March. It was the third time I have gone to Disney World. To see the amazement and the expectation of the
It was a warm rainy June night the humidity was high which made it even harder to breathe on the crammed boat. My family was asleep on the constantly rocking boat suddenly the boat shook, but my family was still fast asleep. I couldn’t seem to fall asleep so I got up and stepped out on the cold wet steel boats upper deck to get some air. When I got outside I realized that it was pouring bucket sized rain. I saw increasingly large waves crash furiously against the lower deck. Hard water droplets pelted my face, I could taste the salt water in my mouth from the spray of the ocean. Suddenly A massive wave slammed hard against the ship and almost swallowed the boat. Wind gusts started kicking up. I held onto the rail grasping it as if it were my prized possession. Suddenly I was blown
Surprisingly, our parents had beaten us to the top and we all stopped in awe, mesmerized by the great waterfall in front of us. My mouth felt like the Sahara desert. I vividly remember reaching for the chilling water bottle that hid underneath the tons of clothes stuffed in my father’s black backpack to quench my thirst. I took off my beaten down shoes and stinky socks covered in dirt from the trail and blood from the blisters on my feet and dove into the refreshing lake. After swimming through the lake for a few seconds, I abruptly jumped out of the freezing water. My toes turned into a blue that reminded me of the blueberry muffins from breakfast that morning. My body shivered as I exited the lake and threw on a warm towel over my shoulders. Gradually my body heat increased, escaping the risk of hypothermia. At that point, I just wanted to go home. My family and I gathered all our belongings and I dragged my energyless body into the large, gray shuttle. The shuttle smelled of sweat from previous passengers. It drove us down a rough, bumpy trail, causing my tall father to constantly slam his head on the roof of the car. After we finally got back to our hotel, we all let off a sigh of
Fear is something that drives everyone. For me, it controls and keeps me from my friends and goals. My friends and I were at Six Flags Great Adventure in May of 2016. We were there because of a musical competition that we enjoyed practicing for.
Everybody make mistakes. One day in fourth grade I was turning in my money for my field trip to Six Flags. At the time I lived in Georgia and everyone was talking about this trip, but my mom wasn’t getting paid until the deadline, so I had to wait until the last second to pay for the trip. As it turns out I wasn’t able to go the best field trip ever because I got into a fight. That was my mistake.
Funky, foul, repulsive smell of must and sweat assault your nose, accompanied by a slight trace of sunscreen. In addition, beads of sweat start to form on your forehead as the sun beams down on you. However, none of that seems to matter as you anxiously wait in line to gain access to the greatest place on earth, Six Flags.
It was a hot, humid, but not horrible summer day. My friend had invited me to go somewhere I’d never been before. Six-Flags. I had always heard about how fun it was to go there and how riding a rollercoaster is the best, but I had feared riding one. Due to my fear of heights, I wasn’t fond of the idea of riding high into the sky and the dropping straight down.
“Come on, do it!” my aunt exclaimed at me the day before our trip to the amusement park. My family would always take a trip to an amusement park every other summer. I was always scared about going on the roller coasters. So one day before the trip, my aunt wanted to push me and my sister to do something new through a bet. The bet was that I had to chose one ride or the other ride but I had to choose one. My sister chose the one I didn’t choose so we both had to go on separate rides. Then the one day came and my sister, me, my cousin and my aunt drove to the amusement park building up the anticipation each minute in the car.
I nervously stood with my mom and grandma waiting with the money. I felt a wave of fear crawl across my body as the boat came into view. The boat finally got back to shore. When everyone who was riding got off, my mom and I told them we wanted to ride and we gave them the five dollars. Next thing I knew I found myself putting on a life jacket. When the man asked how hard we want him to try to knock us off, I had a heart attack when my grandma stepped in and told him to do his best. My mom and I were the only ones riding. A few people who rode before us said “good luck”. My body tensed. I feared I wouldn't be able to stay on the whole time. I hopped on and heard the engine start. Then my body jerked forward. We were starting.
Ever since I was about six years old, I wanted in the worst way to go to Disneyland. I would hope every year that my parents would chose Disneyland as our next family vacation destination. I dreamt of the day I would come back from Disneyland with exciting tales of adventure and a pair of sparkly, ruby red and black Minnie Mouse ears of my very own that would be the envy of every kid in my elementary class. Once I finally went to Disneyland, it was amazing; Disneyland was everything I had expected and more. However, a couple years later when I returned to Disneyland, it was different. The rides, buildings, and everything in the park did not have the same allure. The magic I had experienced as a child was no longer there.
The roller coasters roared above us as we ambled down the dimly lit pathway, debating the next ride to go with. The Top Thrill Dragster towered four hundred feet in the air above us. It’s bright lights blinking in the night sky. The stars practically scraped against it’s metal bars. We quickly passed it, just the sight of it making my stomach turn inside out. The red and yellow coaster goes straight up in the air at one hundred and twenty miles per hour with a drop going straight down even faster. The ride is only seventeen seconds long but I was almost positive it seemed longer when you were actually on it, at least that’s was what I was told.
The effects of protesting may not be evident until days to years after the protest takes place. Sometimes, protesting might not even be helpful. They definitely are not the same as they used to be years ago. Whether or not they have evolved and become more useful can be argued. Several people have said that protesting no longer has the effect that it used to.
