More Flags, More Fun! Funky, foul, repulsive smell of must and sweat assault your nose, accompanied by a slight trace of sunscreen. In addition, beads of sweat start to form on your forehead as the sun beams down on you. However, none of that seems to matter as you anxiously wait in line to gain access to the greatest place on earth, Six Flags. Passing by the well-known six American Flags, sticking out from a stunning flower bed, you know your wait is finally over. Going through the turnstiles, the scorching, blistering metal burns your thighs and hands as you go through. Instead of the previous atrocious smells, you are now greeted with savory candy like fragrances. Sounds of uncontrollable fits of laughter, screaming and clinking metal fill the air. While looking up, you see a reflection pool filled with ultramarine colored water and rows of different types of flowers surrounding the perimeter. …show more content…
The Columbia Carousel, untouchable by time, a piece of American History. Looking closer at its magnificent structure you see 16 original oil paintings by George Gibson. With further observation, you can see its exquisite carved ornate chariots, horses, and animals. Children of all ages and even their grandparents, laughing, smiling ear to ear as the ride goes round and round. To the right of the Columbia Carousel, standing at an amazing 330 feet high, is the Sky Trek Tower. At the top of the indigo tower, there is a white aerial cabin rotating 8.5 stories in the air full of people. Parents look intrigued while the children have an expression of pure boredom while they hear the history about the park. Just below the Sky Trek Tower is a churro stand with a small variety of flavors. Children unable to control themselves try to wait in line as their parents have a firm grip on their arm to keep them

Oreo Cookie and Six Flags Commercials - Nostalgia for Sale Many television commercials choose to feature a contrast between youth and maturity as their subject. An “Oreo Cookie” commercial, for example, features a little girl who is about four years old mimicking her grandfather’s actions in eating a cookie. Another commercial advertises the popular theme park, Six Flags Great Adventure. This commercial, entitled “The Six Flags Dancing Man,” features an elderly man dancing like an enthusiastic child.
Traveling to an amusement park is a family’s finest way to bond, but is it worth the time and drive to attend just any amusement park? This essay will compare and contrast Six Flags San Antonio, SeaWorld San Antonio, and Disney World Florida from price range, food, and the variety of rides.
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
What comes to mind when you hear the word adventure!!? Well there is a place in Florida that is guaranteed to bring out your inner kid every time you visit. This place is known as universal Orlando Florida. This is a place where you can go on vacation and have fun like never before as you did when you were a kid. On my visit to Orlando I stated at a four-star resort located inside the theme park known as Cabana Bay Beach Resort, also went to universal studios and islands of adventure were I felt like I was a kid again.
Nestled between a dilapidated pet shop and a mass-produced chain store lies Pinchers’ Crab Shack, a local dive of free spirits in the wilds of the stubborn and pompous Naples area. As Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville” blares from a weathered jukebox nestled next to cases of unopened beer in a corner, the various smells of salt, frying foods, and vinegar assaults one’s senses. It is here in this atmosphere that Florida is truly found.
Every year since I was a freshman in high school my family would all pack into our car and head to Six Flags for my father’s job. This was usually one day I could count on for unexpected entertainment. Each year was a new experience in the making because one year it may be sunny or one year it may rain, but HEY! Its Georgia weather what can you do about it?

Kasson explains that people came for the, “joy of mixing with the crowds on the public street and catching the live sense of humanity and of good humor that is everywhere” (39). Coney Island was a place for people to interact on an intimate level, love and sexuality was explored, the people reverted to childish ways and the vibrant image was one that stayed with people forever (45). Photographs and postcards captured the excitement to show people outside these enclosed doors about the fantasy world they had entered by coming to Coney Island. Pictures such as the five women bent over on the beach is a perfect depiction of the sexuality, fashion and cultural changes that happened among the beaches and walls of Coney Island. Coney Island was a festival at all times. Once a visitor entered the gates, it took people to a whole new world, away from the problems of society and work. As Kasson explains, “Coney Island appeared to be a new kind of cultural institution that people would call again and again, a ‘carnival’” (49 & 50). To take a deeper look into the impact Coney Island had on society, Kasson focused on three crucial amusement parks: Steeplechase, Luna Park and
Adolescents like to have a place they can call their own. In the fifties, teenagers hung out at the malt shop, sipping cherry cokes and rockin' with Elvis. Today, in small town USA, they're jam skating while listening to the favorite group of the month. I was amazed to find a microcosm of life blooming on a 70 x 160-foot cement slab known as a roller skating rink.
The corporations that I looked up where Universal Studios, Walt Disney, and Six Flags. First I looked at the Six Flags website. Some of the news that I saw first was that some of the locations had messages that said “see you next summer”. This was in locations that it would become very cold at such as Six Flags Great America near Chicago. There were still options for passes and tickets however. There were also new articles about different rides and ways to make getting into the park easier. This is to keep the consumer connected even when it is the offseason for some parks. There was also a section for new stuff happening in 2015 for Six Flags throughout their locations. The main thing was that there was a video announcement from the CEO
Amusement parks are by far one of the most thrilling places on earth. As you wait in a long line to get in park, you can hear numerous kids, adults, and tourist shouting off the top of their lungs due to a tremendous jaw-dropping drop on their beloved roller coasters.
Ever since Sunset Beach has been officially opened to the public, there has been a drastic increase of tourists present. Television programs concluded that at least a thousand people visit the beach everyday. Reasons for their stay are that they feel comfortable with the environment that surrounds the beach front, people who are at the beach are joyous and numerous activities to enjoy, and the fresh scent of the sparkly waters, make the visitors feel calm and pleasurable. So I decided to take a trip there.
The palm leaf that stands on the back of my dresser leans tattered against the wall. I got the leaf about seven years ago in Mesquite, Nevada. I began to reminisce about the family trip that brought us closer together, even if only for the four days we were there. We excitedly gathered our bags and followed Mom and Dad into the hotel. As we walked into the magnificent Casa Blanca hotel, our mouths dropped and our eyes widened as we gazed at a huge ice cream parlor next to the front desk. As Mom and Dad checked us in, we dropped our luggage and ran over to it and press our noses on the clean glass doors. Mom and Dad pried us from the doors, and we reluctantly followed them to our room, leaving sticky face and handprints on the glass.
For those who like winter sports like skiing and snowboarding, we have just the perfect place- the remote yet very popular mountain resort called Balea Lake.
