Every athlete will come across a critic that will always have something to say about the way you play in a negative way. My soccer coach once told me in a game “Whatever brings you down, will eventually make you stronger.”; she made me realize that one ignorant person with negative feedback about me will be my motivation to do even better to prove him wrong. It was game day and my whole team was pumped. While walking in the school hallways, I would see my teammates with their jerseys on. We had this. We all would meet up at Depew to warm up. The other team came and so did the referees. The starters were called up by our coach and she gave us a pep talk. Our 2 captains from last year called the cheer. “RED-DEVILS-ON-THREE-1-2-3. We worked our butts off and gave it our all. We came off up 1-0 and I had a huge thirst. I could remember my throat being very dry, the water rushing down my throat, and the sweat on my face rushing down. Our coach gave us a little pep talk and we went right back into the game. The second half started very intensely. I remember how intense the opponents tried to tackle me but I stood my ground as hard as I could. At one point I remember receiving the ball and getting kicked in the shin very hard. I felt the impact with the ground my hand grabbing my leg. As I opened my eyes, I saw my teammates and the other team took a knee. My coach helped me out while I heard the people clap and I heard someone laugh hysterically, but I didn't pay attention to it. Once I got off I wanted to go back even if I got kicked because defensive player must always stay strong, regardless of anything, for their team. I explained to my coach it's probably just a bruise. I lied to her, trying to play it off as it didn't hurt; I got put back
