“Caroline wake up,” Megan whispered while lightly shaking my body. We had planned to wake up before five o'clock in the morning to watch the sunrise. The special thing about this sunrise was that it is the first place that sees the sun in the United States. “We should grab some containers to put the blueberries in,” I suggested. We then found two red solo cups and ventured up the hill to watch the sunrise. It was still dark, so we had to use flashlights to see. The air smelled of campfires, and we could hear the soft murmurs of early risers. The mildew in the grass caused a slippery feeling in our flip flops. Once we made it up the hill, we saw the start of the sunrise. The sky was painted orange, yellow, and pink as the sun was peeking out from behind mountains. We started picking blueberries off the bushes. I thought back to when I was little, and I hid in the blueberry patch. My mom panicked because I was around two years old, but she soon found me stuffing my face with blueberries. I smiled at the thought of that childhood memory. …show more content…
