Monday October Thirtieth at three forty in the afternoon, I scrambled to get ready for work. I grabbed my work clothes out of the dryer and threw them onto my body as quick as I can. At almost three fifty, my mother bursted through my door holding a phone to her ear and asked me “Have you had anything stolen from a locker at school or your car recently?” I answer “Yeah, I had four dollars stolen from my wallet at school, but I got the money back. Why?” Directly after I reply, she tells the person on the phone what I said and walks away. Curious about why she asked that, I quickly went out to the kitchen to find out what was going on. While she talked to someone on the phone she writes on a piece of paper “Property of yours was found in a stolen car.” I read that and immediately my heart began beating faster. The jeep and motorcycle I have been dreaming about for last year or so would never become a reality. As I thought about this, my heart sunk. If I am wrongfully arrested and thrown into the slammer I thought to myself “I might never see my friends again.” As I thought this statement in my head my heart beat was so fast it felt as if it was about to explode. I knew that I was starting to panic, and needed to calm down. I began taking deep breaths and my heart beat just a little slower. As I calmed down, I finished stocking all of the Monster energy drinks and began working on Rockstar as Staci comes through the door and says to me “Can you come help a guest with her ice?” I respond “Of course, I will be right out.” As I load about a hundred pounds of ice into her car, we begin talking.
