I gazed outside my window,looking up to the sky that was so crystal clear that it appeared to mirror my own image if I looked close enough. The sun was out, shining bright per usual but with a hint of sparkliness. It was a perfect way to start my day, but per usual my brother and his friends were outside playing an intimate game of basketball. The ball would dribble up and down, “whump whump” until one of them would shoot, “swish” it goes in the net, this causes them to burst into a celebration. I become more involved with other kids, as I began to participate in mini games. Holding the ball in my hand was never a dull moment even as sweat would pour off my forehead and into my eyes. I'd never let the heat and fatigue bother me as my attention was in the hoop, calculating each step and angle. I shot my first shot and the ball flies into the air. After a long moment, the ball sinks in the rim with a loud swoosh, and my teammates cheer into a celebration. This time it was me scoring the most points as each shot was as a splash in the net. It wasn't my brother and his friends who were waking up early to play anymore and it wasn't annoyance this time but rather relief and joy. There is nothing better then the sound of basketball swishing in the net or even the feeling of the ball on your fingertips. Basketball didn't just become a hobby but rather a way to overcome my stress or fulfill my needs. As years passed by, I played professionally for my school and for other basketball programs or camps. I strived to always be the best, which earned my first award, which happened to be MVP. The simple awards with my name, and the title was enough to stir a very strong emotion, whether it was happiness, relieve or a mixture of both, that moment just felt almost like the real thing. Everything that I have learned about basketball has brought me to that point, and that moment pushed me to continue to play basketball. Till this day, I would wonder what my life would be like without basketball, not only did help me grow as a person but it also left endless memories that will never be
