Looking back my absolute favorite game as a kid was Capture the Flag, as it is a very exciting game that can be played with 6+ people and can go on for hours. To play, the group of kids divides into two teams and each team has a “flag” which can be any object really to hide from the other team. Each team sets boundaries where their flag can be hidden in and this is considered the teams “territory.” From there the two teams pick their strategy to find the flag. The only catch is, if you are caught or “tagged” by the opponent then you are now in the other teams “jail” which means you have to sit out. Once the flag has been captured, that team wins, and the came is over. As I reflect on the memories of playing this game it taught me almost
everything that we talked about in the Power of Human Movement lecture, however some seem more important than others. First, I learned about dealing with adversity. Almost every time the two boundaries that we set for both teams weren’t identical so sometimes one team had more or better options to hide the flag. Not only that but also the teams were not identical match ups so occasionally one team would be superior. Second, just like any classic game of tag, I learned about avoiding collisions. This causes you to become more aware of your surroundings because you constantly have to look out for yourself and who is potentially going to catch you. I think the most important lesson in capture the flag however is to work as a team. Most of the times that I won were because our team came up with a strategy and we all worked together to follow through with it. Sometimes we would split our individual team in half so that half could try to find the other flag and have could defend our own turf. Either way, if everyone wasn’t on board with the same strategy the game almost ever ended well. Today, as I am much older, these lessons are incredibly prominent in my work, school, and social life.
One of my favorite video games is Fortnite. Because it looks cool and you get to do a lot of stuff. Fortnite is one of the biggest games in the USA. A lot of people play Fortnite because it fun and you get to built things. Playing video games is bad and good.
Atari was the first commercial video game company with hits like ‘break out” and “pong”. For many people pong was the first video game they have ever played. The idea of pong is that there is two rectangles that only move up and down and a little square that bounces around the screen until one of the rectangles miss, once the rectangle miss’ the game is over. This game may seem simple now but it sold 19,000 units so you can say what you want but back then this was the greatest game ever.
games of Horse and a few other simple shooting games. I wasn't the best but I
book. Games are a way of coping with life at such a young age, and
Vacations provide the perfect opportunity to play with your kids. Challenge them to a game of horseshoes, a race to the turn in the hiking trail, or a paddle-boat race. Don’t worry about getting dirty; concentrate on laughing and learning and playing together. Let everyone choose an activity. Imagine how proud your youngest child will be when the whole family enjoys the s’mores cookout and begged to do it again the next night!
Every person has an American Dream they want to pursue, achieve and live. Many people write down goals for themselves in order to get to their dream. Those never ending goals can range from academic to personal. As of today, I am living my dream. My American Dream is to become a nurse, travel to many places, have a family, and get more involved with God.
Our engagements at work, school, and sports seem to take precedence over quality family time. In what little free time we have, we just sit alone in separate rooms, staring at our individual screens. Playing board games is one of the few times that we all sit down together as a family and just enjoy each others’ company.
Identity-“Ones personal qualities.”Identiy is something only he or she can fully define. My uncle says I am affectionate, cheerful, and calm. My grandmother sees me as slim, pretty and sweet. My dad described me as perky, cheerful and happy, my mom says beautiful, gentle, and self-conscious. These adjectives describe me accurately, yet they are only abstract versions of me. Adjectives cannot begin to describe me and I aknowlege these descriptions for what they are, a condensed translation from my outward self to the world. It is impossible for anyone to understand me completely because nobody has experienced the things I have. My mother has never cherished a raggedy doll named Katie and my father never spent hours upon hours making collages and scrap books for his future children. My uncle never hid in the back of a pick-up-truck and traveled four hours to New York and my grandmother has never walked hours in the rain looking for the Queen of England. My identity is something only I can define.
“It must be peace without victory”, that is what I heard President Woodrow Wilson say on the radio this morning. It’s 1918, the war has ended, and so much has already change, even here in my little town in Louisiana. I am happy so many things are changing. It means when I grow up, I can vote and work. Women’s rights, Prohibition, and the economy boom is really changing America.
In the world today many different types of games exist.Games are something you can play and let loose on life. Some of the games can be as easy as rolling dice and some can be as hard as algebra. Some of the different ranges of games are cards, board games, athletic, and too many more to count. A fun and exciting game to play with any group of friends or family member is Bunco.
Some kids thought hide and go seek was boring, as did I. Playing hide and seek through out my neighborhood was one of the things all the little kids did. Every person in this block knew of each other. I never had fun because everyone always would get in fights and the game always ended early. Yet, for some reason this game was intensified by creating teams where one team being the hunters who protect home base and the hunted who are trying to reach it before being tagged by the hunter. So because of his there were always heated arguments that turned into fights.
“The American Dream” can be interpreted in many different ways. For some, it might mean freedom and wealth, but for others such as myself it can be defined as a quest for opportunity and a better future. Migrating to the United States from Nepal as a ten year old, I have had to overcome many hurdles such as language barriers, assimilation, and conflicts of identity.
My American Dream is for American to be more helpful with granting immigrant United States citizenship.College will help me fulfil my dream by granting me the The opportunities to learn the very complex political relationships and ideas dealing with immigration in United States. Since, I will be learning with best professor In political science and making connections further down my political career. I Will make many friends that believe my cause and help me pursuit of knowledge by helping study for finals or putting in the many horrors for research papers. However, I will find people that will challenge my beliefs to to look at the issues with lense of Conservatism. I will met people many people from the world that will help me
“I have to go mija, it’s getting late”. As soon as I would hear those words that my mom would use to say, my eyes would get watery and would felt a lump in my throat. I knew that I had to be strong, but deep down I knew I needed my mother more than anything. Not having the woman that gave birth to me by my side every day, it made me grow up with a mind of an independent woman and made me capable of knowing how to manage stuff by myself.
The Pew Internet study of US teenagers found that few play alone and most join up with friends when gaming. It found that many used educational games to learn about world issues and to begin to engage with politics. The report also found that gaming had become an almost universal pastime among young Americans.
