It was my boyfriends 21st birthday and I knew that I had to come up with some sort of an amazing gift. Ideas started to rumble through my head and I found myself screaming, HE HAS EVERYTHING. I mean c’mon’ the kid literally does. You could take him to the mall and point something out, “Have that”, “Got it”, “My mom just got that for me last week”. I was exhausted due to the fact that my brain had been racing for weeks on end and I could not think of a single thing he didn’t already have. Crazy Haley steps in, that’s the other half of my brain that spits out outrageous ideas, and my options became endless. I thought to myself, an airplane could literally take us anywhere… right? That sudden dream soon became a reality when I pulled out my
I was amazed how far away we where I said, “Where do we go next
We’ve all been on a vacation. Florida, The Bahamas, California. We’ve all been somewhere and I went somewhere. The whole way there I tried to act like a seasoned traveler, like I knew what I was doing. But I was a newbie. I had never travelled without my family. I had never left the East Coast and here I was, on a flight to Costa Rica with 20 of my peers and teachers. I have the window seat. So I sit down in my pajamas and wait to see who will sit next to me. I move my things around and get situated, close my eyes. And we’re off. Well, my “nap” only lasted about 20 minutes, so I decided to look out the window and enjoy the scenery. After the 5th hour I was probably hallucinating, because there was no scenery at 36,000 feet. It was
Just before my mind explodes, my father comes in and says, "Let's go to the cabin."
Growing up as an only child I made out pretty well. You almost can’t help but be spoiled by your parents in some way. And I must admit that I enjoyed it; my own room, T.V., computer, stereo, all the material possessions that I had. But there was one event in my life that would change the way that I looked at these things and realized that you can’t take these things for granted and that’s not what life is about.
A calm crisp breeze circled my body as I sat emerged in my thoughts, hopes, and memories. The rough bark on which I sat reminded me of the rough road many people have traveled, only to end with something no one in human form can contemplate.
The flight was going to make a connection in Charlotte, North Carolina, and then, I would make the flight to Houston. It was a long and tiring trip. I was so exhausted and sleepy. When I arrived in Houston, my aunt and cousin were waiting for me. I was lucky to have relatives here in Houston; otherwise, I would have had a hard time finding a safe place.
I gave my money to my father, asking him to put it in rolls and hold onto it for me so I would not spend it on impulse. He did so, and held onto it for a couple years. When I was eleven, however, he came home with a new gaming computer, speakers, headphones with

We went to the airport and found out that we had a jumbo jet to take
The ground was blanketed with snow, there was a faint growl, I started running as fast as I could, if it weren’t for that chain I would either be in the hospital or dead. As I stood in the snow, I could feel the warm blood dripping down my leg and a sharp pain in my head as if someone had just hit me with a hammer. For a ten-year-old who was enjoying his summer road trip to Kansas with his Guardian, Uncle Steve, everything during this moment would stay drilled into my memory forever. From here on out I would forever remain cautious and be more aware of what animals were around me.
It was a long and silent night. I couldn’t help but realize that, as the night progressed, my chances of survival were decreasing. I had intentionally come out to the forest to find some crowberry for my pet jackalope, Rufus; it was the time of season the berries were to be at their ripest point, but little had I known that it would arrive. It was a beast with teeth the size of rock, the head of a tiger, the body of a snake, the wings of a great eagle, and green, glowing eyes staring at you as if your death approached with every step it took. I was lucky to have survived, but my friend, Thomas, wasn’t. I had watched as the beast took Thomas away to its lair in the high peaks of Mount Atheodus, while I had to return to Rufus.
I had waited all day to talk to my mother, for it was my grandmother’s birthday and she had been busy all week with the party preparations. I finally manage to get her attention and break the news. At the time, I knew I was doing the right thing, I finally told her I was dropping out of school, hence, I received a job offer I couldn’t refuse. My plan was to work for two years, save enough money and finish school then. As I expected, my mom was speechless with her mouth and eyes wide open. My step dad just stood there scratching his head like trying to put some type of logic to my plan. The first thing that came out of my mother’s mouth was, “are you crazy”! The next thing she said was, “why are you rushing, you are making a big mistake
My alarm clock ringed off at 4am, buzzing underneath my pillow. Immediately, I got up and switched it off hoping no one would awaken. The room was extremely quiet, faintly hear my brother snoring in the room across me. The raindrops on my window were starting to multiply, the sky becoming darker. I was worried. I didn’t know if this was the right thing to do, but I reassured myself that everything would work out. I grabbed my old bag that my mother bought me as a gift for Christmas. It was leather, built with sturdy straps and two slots with zippers that could fit almost everything inside. I grabbed the polished keys from my dresser, opening the window ever so slightly. I quickly hopped out and ran towards the old motorcycle, started the engine,
Taking that flight was nothing like the flights I’ve taken before. I had just recently celebrated my fourteenth birthday a week before being told that we were taking a trip. My dad wanted to surprise me for keeping up good grades in school. With my father working in the military and knowing a lot about other countries, I couldn’t have asked for a better gift. Went
The room looked like one of those pictures you would see on Facebook with the hashtag boyfriend goals. I found out that he has been planning this for a month now and it 's taken him two days to decorate this whole hotel room. The room was filled with balloons, Polaroid pictures of us, a big birthday cake, two flower bouquets and much more. He decorated this room so careful and neat, everything in this room has a meaning behind it. He did listen to me well, back then I told him on my 18th birthday I want to be treat like a princess, and I told him to do something special something that will make every girl jealous. I even gave him ideas but he wasn 't even paying attention the whole time, he even felt asleep! But now I know he just pretends. Donnie even has my favorite candle from bath and body work lighted. I was so happy and emotional to the point that I felt like I was going to throw up. Right, when I turn around Donnie held the birthday cake told me to make a wish, blow the candles and pointed behind me. Behind me is a ginormous box that said: “Make a wish and open me!” The box was humongous to the point I thought there was a person inside of it! When I opened the box, more balloons were rushing outside, and the bottom of the box is where the main gift is. Donnie 's gift was so small compared to the box that he put in. I took the present out, and I started screaming. I couldn’t believe my own eyes what I just saw! I turned around and looked at him, he gave me a big smile and nodded his head. It’s a Givenchy designer bag; it’s the bag that I wanted for so long but could never save enough money to buy it. I always brag about it and all I heard from him is the bag is so ugly, so overprice, not worth it, etc.… This is a huge deal because of how much he hated this bag but still end up buying it for me. This bag is the best thing I’ve
